Around 75,000 miles, vehicle is 4 years old, airbag sensor went off (no accident or anything). I brought the car to the dealership to have it looked at. Came back estimating roughly $1,200 repair to replace the passenger side seat. I told them it is probably just a blown fuse and to check for that, they refused and said they've seen the problem before and that the repair is not covered under any warranty and that it was likely my fault due to a spilled drink. I've never spilled a drink in this car or even left the windows open. Therefore, the problem is most likely due to faulty wiring. I refused to pay the $1,200 repair. Now I am writing this because I am likely to fail inspection and will be forced to repair it. I want to increase visibility of this issue.

Temperature light, check engine light, speedometer, rpm gauge, gas gauge, and odometer all stopped working at the same time. I was told it was a short in the computer ($1100 to fix). The car is 6 years old, I don't think this should have happened; it seems like there is faulty wiring/parts.

I purchased the car back in 2003 from a dealership up in new york city. Hyundai of manhattan,I was experiencing problem. With the car. Then first in was with the wiring harness. That affect the transmission, and then with the car blowing oxygen sensors, and then with the manifold systems the problems ware taken care of
then I have moved to raleigh, north carolina. From nyc back in 9/2006, then I started having problems with the wiring harness, again. And the transmission failed and needed to be replaced back in 11/2007. That problem was taken care of
I have been going to Hyundai of southern state imports of raleigh. For the past couple of years since I have been here and they are very familiar with my car
the car was under warranty back then. Until I reached 71,226 miles the cars warranty 60,000 miles to 100,000 bumper to bumper. To make a long story short
they waited until my warranty expired to tell me that my care would need a. 1,wiring assy engine total price of 930. 53, 2,cover assyrocker 299,72. The point I am trying to get at is they knew along that those components needed to be replaced a long time ago but they waited until my warranty was up to pass the buck on to the consumer. Instead of being responsible and of integrity
Hyundai motors of America needs to be investigated, concerning there warranty
concerning there customers I am outraged concerning this matter . How would you feel if it was you the economy is stalled and this couldn't have happened at a
more awkward time then now. I am afraid of this car and would like to get rid of it
but I owe 8,000 more on the car and I am making my payment inspite of the
economy. I feel raped and abused. By this please help me before it is to late.

While driving at highway speeds (50-75 mph) the overdrive would dissengage. In turrn the rpm would ramp up. This would happen randomly. Somtimes pulling off and turning car off and starting it again temporarily fixed problem. Finally, we took it to a mechanic. He found that the wiring uner the stick (automatic) were bare and touching. He fixed the wiring and never had a problem since. I have noted many other entries with similar problem.

We bought the vehicle in Nov 1997. There was a hesitation pretty much from the start. . . Really apparent at 7581. We bought it back to the dealer in March 1998. . . They attempted to repair it. It continued to be a nuisance. . . We contacted the dealer again. We brought the vehicle in to be repaired on June 23, 1999. Since then the spark plugs have failed 4 times (each time failure was on plug #1 and #3). It is now July 27, 1999. The ignition wires were replaced July 02. . . One of the wires replaced on July 02 was replaced again July 07. We have replaced the fuel filter, had a throttle body service and a fuel injection service . . . All to no avail. . . . The problem is worse than ever. The hesitation occurs most often when the weather is at high temperatures , but can also happen at other times. I noticed the elantra dohc engine had electrical system wiring. . . Dohc spark plug wire routing problems for a number of years. I wonder if that's our problem . . . Our Accent gt is also a dohc engine !.
