1 Software problem of the 2013 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 08/19/2018

As I go up a hill or rapidly accelerate on an incline the check engine light will come on. The problem points to the knock sensor (code p0326) being at fault. This does not happen often but when it does it is disconcerting. I replaced the knock sensor with a new oem part, but it too acts the same as the old one. I called the dealer and they want to charge me $90 to diagnose the problem and then any labor/parts needed to repair it. However, I have read several reports online about a software update, flashing the ecu has fixed the problem. If this is so, shouldn't this be a reason for a recall?.

2 Software problem of the 2012 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 12/24/2015

Around 50000 miles the car would over rev about 1000-2000 rpm when the clutch was released and foot off of the gas. It has progressively gotten worse. Now it will on its own while standing at idle run up to 5000-6000 rpm without warning and the only way to stop it is to turn the car off. When in gear, the car will accelerate without warning. If you depress the clutch, again it will run up to 5000-6000 rpm. The problem becomes exacerbated in warmer weather and lessened in cold weather. During the 12/24 heat wave here in PA, the car was undriveable and dangerous as I could not depend on it not "taking off". The dealer updated the software on 12/22 which did not resolve the issue, and no codes were found in the computer! before 50,000 miles everything was fine.

3 Software problem of the 2011 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

2011 Hyundai Accent has a software problem with the coils/spark plugs. I have had all of them replaced, yet the car still senses a misfire in its computer. My mechanic looked it up and found out there was a recall for this year and make, but when I called Hyundai they denied a recall ever being issued. This will be the last Hyundai I ever purchase.
