Tl the contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The contact stated that the vehicle shuddered and stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

2 Engine Knocking Noise problem of the 2016 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 08/14/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Accent. While operating the vehicle, a knocking noise was present coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine ring was faulty, the oil drained out, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Carolina Hyundai (2431 north main st, high point, nc) was notified. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 104,000.

3 Engine Knocking Noise problem of the 2012 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 12/08/2017

At about 80,000 miles, the vehicle started making a loud and constant knocking sound in the engine. The Hyundai dealership service department determined that: "internal rods are making knocking sound - engine must be replaced. " this very loud knocking happens all the time whether the vehicle is stationary or moving. The vehicle is not safe to drive. This issue is identical to the 2015 recall of many other Hyundai vehicles from the same model year (I. E. Nhtsa campaign number: 15v568000).
