Air Bag Light On problems of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra - part 2

The air bag light illuminated at first intermittently but later continual. I brought it to the dealer who informed me it was because of the clock spring. The dealer informed me that it was not covered under my policy and that I would need to pay for the diagnostic and the repair. The car is less than 5 years old and should not have a safety issue at this point that is not covered under a platinum protection plan. Im very disappointed.

Airbag light remaining on and was told it is the clockspring, which is being recalled on multiple other Hyundais but dealers says not this model. Car is just 5 years old, should not need safety system replaced yet.

Air bags light comes on disabling the air bags. Something in the steering column that is connected to the clock spring. Investigation results in hundreds of similar problems with Hyundai cars.

The light had been on for a while now, it goes off once I start the engine but once I start to drive is when it comes on. I took it to the dealership and they're going to look at it tomorrow to see what the issue is. The airbag light indicates off and when my brother sat in the passenger seat the airbag light went away and showed nothing but the notification on the dashboard still showed on.

Air bag light is on stays on and have sewn this is an on going issue with many elentras and no recall. I e seen this to be an issue for yrs. I have made many calls to Hyundai and I keep getting take it to the dealership your out of your 60000 mile warranty and pay what ever fee it is.

Air bag light came on and buttons on steering wheel no longer work. Many other Elantra owners have made complaints about this but nothing has been done. They want me to pay to fix a safety issue with the air bags and it happened before I hit 60000 but couldn't get in until later so they used that to not fix it on there on dime.

The airbag light came on and stayed on - took to dealer to find out why - told the air bag control module needed replaced (code b1620) at a whopping cost of $1400! plus the $110 it cost me to have it diagnosed. I have a warranty however this safety issue is not covered and I find that very upsetting as there are many complaints on air bags not going off because of this unit! the car is 5 years old and has less than 100,000 miles on it. This should not go bad and if it does Hyundai should take care of it as it is a safety issue! how many people have to be seriously injured or worse die before Hyundai gets involved? its a safety issue that should be covered - obviously profits out weigh safety with them.

My car air bag light came on 3 weeks ago. It hasn't turned off. The air bag light stays on while I'm driving, and when I'm in park.

1-the airbag light stays on all the time ! 2- the car was recalled for a break issue, since I took it to the dealer the paddle feel loser(( I need to push the break two times to get the clippers works! I have changed the break clippers and the same problem!!!!.

Air bag light is on when I turn the engine on. The engine malfunction light turns of and on intermittently.

Airbag light came on after 100,000 miles. My car is out of the initial warranty. Dealership wants to run a diagnostic for 115$, not including parts or labor for findings. The light came on while the vehicle was running and in motion. At first, it came on and of, then stayed on.

At 62,000 miles my air bag light began intermittently flashing and now remains illuminated. The dealership wants to charge me a few hundred dollars to diagnose the problem and says that my airbags will fail unless fixed. The airbags are not covered under warranty and I am reading hundreds of stories online just like my experience. Hyundai should recall this issue and keep drivers safe! I would never recommend a car with airbags failing after less than 5 years! I do not feel safe driving this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Airbag light went off at about 80 thousand miles and has been on ever since.

Is now almost always on, but on rare occasions will turn off only to come back on later. 77000 miles on car, so not in warranty. My airbag light was off and on for about a month and now it is a steady light. The repair shop I took it to said I needed a clock spring and a new driver air bag. They also said I might need another part. Total cost of all of this will be around $1600. Since my car has over 100,000 miles, it is not under warranty. I've noticed other people are complaining about the airbag light.

1. Airbag light has been turning on. No apparent reason but I was told that if in an accident will not deployed. Since 10/12/2016 2. Suspension is not the greatest, car will swirled sometimes if exceeding 40mph hello I live in puerto rico there is no such thing as 40mph in our roads. . . 3. Tire sensors are constantly braking. 4. Front headlights seems get humidity when it rains or get too cold. 5. Brakes sometimes do not work as they should, I stop and it seems to keep going I would have to brake again to make it stop and these is not going more than 40 mph.

I have noticed that my vehicle's airbag light is turning on and off while the vehicle is in motion on a city street and on highways. I do not know what triggers it to turn off and on. It also turns on and off while the vehicle is not in motion. I believe this is a major security issue because if I am involved in a major car crash and the airbags are not on then I will not be secured.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. When the vehicle was started, the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently without warning. The indicator currently remains illuminated. The local dealer (rick case Hyundai duluth, 3180 satellite blvd NW, duluth, GA, 30096, 855-254-5290) advised the contact to schedule an appointment for diagnostic testing. The appointment was not scheduled due to the diagnostic fee. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who tried to reset the air bag sensor and diagnosed that the failure was due to the clock spring. The mechanic stated that they could not guarantee that it was the cause of the failure and that it needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that there was no recall on the vehicle. Due to the vehicle being outside of the 60,000 mile warranty, the contact would be responsible for the repair costs. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

While driving my car the trip reset button does not reset and the number of mpg going crazy and now I have the airbag light on the dash on suddenly and stayed on. I am afraid that the air bag will deploid or wont work on a accident. Safety. This vehicle was in motion.

Air bag light stays on all the time while while driving. Not sure if the airbags working. Issue has not been resolved.

I recently lease the above vehicle from local dealer universal Hyundai in orlando. After driving a short distance I realized that the passenger airbag light was lit (meaning off) even though my wife was in it. I contacted the dealership who had me speak to a service advisor (scott). He told me that I should buy a pillow since my wife was only about 103 pounds in weight, and that there were no adjustments which could be made to the seat. This did not make sense to me so I continued to my sales rep(george spencer). He had the service manager (nestor dias) contact me and he basically told me that under 150 pounds the airbag won't deploy. If I had realized this up front, I would never have leased the Elantra. Now, the airbag light goes on and off when it chooses. I love my wife and am truly concerned about her safety. Please advise. Fred hill.
