When I start my car the engine ticks I believe it's supposed to be a piston issue also my seatbelts don't properly secure I have to use excessive force to buckle it.
I am the second owner and bought it from a Hyundai dealership with 45k miles on it. The car currently has 53k miles on it and the engine failed. I was driving the car and heard a knocking sound and without warning the car shut off. Luckily I was able to pull over and avoid an accent but had just gotten off the beltway. I got it towed to a aaa certified garage and they said they have seen the problem frequently with Hyundai. I had purchased an extended warranty from a 3rd party and luckily the damage is covered under the 3rd party warranty. However, the engine is being replaced by a refurbished/salvaged engine so I won't know whether or not this issue will happen again and it has hurt my resale value because it will now be listed in the carfax.
While driving on beltway doing 55 mph the vehicle won't accelerate and also makes sounds when pushing on gas the rpm will be moving back and front even when car not moving. Car smells like something is burning. The car will start to slow down and shut it self off. All lights will turn on then I shut car off completely then turn back on and it starts up like nothing happened this has happened multiple times. Then when sitting still at a light the car shut off.
Pulled over to shoulder on florida turnpike to adjust seat belt and the car started a very rough idling and would not engage in drive. Reported it to dealer and Hyundai motor America and following was their reply: -dealer: this is a characteristic of these vehicles that they don't know how to correct -Hyundai: they are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it. In the meantime I am driving a car that is not reliable to me from a safety standpoint and two dealers in miami, doral and lehman Hyundai service managers have told me that there is nothing they can do until the factory tells them how to correct the issue, your assistance will be very much appreciated.
