"takata recall" I was in motion driving less than 30miles/hour in traffic, stopping few times and kept a good distance. All of a sudden, I applied the brakes to stop but the vehicle did not stop and kept moving fast. I applied the brakes soo hard, vehicle did not stop the collision system that was suppose to stop the vehicle and avoid the collison did nothing. I reported the same issue when I took the vehicle to the dealership during my 1st service and expressed concern regarding the sensors not working. The car has only 6,000 miles. The day was sunny and this happen during rush hour off on golf road in des plaines illinois.

The brakes malfunctioned while driving on a local road. Stepped on the brake pedal, felt normal at first, then pedal gave way almost to the floor and braking power was very little. Pumping the brake pedal recovered some brake power only temporarily. Pulled over and shut down the car. About an hour later, restarted the car and the brakes were still poor. Brought the car to the dealer who could not work on it until the next day. The next day the dealer found no problems with the brakes and I refused to take back the car until something was done. The dealer kept the car about six weeks and road tested it almost every day but could not provoke the problem to return. I asked the dealer to replace any or all parts that could be the cause of the problem. The dealer refused to do such a thing and also stated that there was no way for Hyundai to diagnose the trouble. They relied on only the electronic sensors and since there were no fault codes they would not take any liability to replace parts on a presumptive basis. I considered the car untrustworthy and said it should not be driven. I traded the car in at the same dealer for another car with a different braking system design.
