9 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 07/11/2024

I received the letter to call the dealership to fix the recall involving the anti-lock break system. I called my local dealership in enfield, CT and they had me bring my car in on Thursday [xxx]. So I made arrangements to leave my car there for the day. I get a call in the afternoon stating that they didn’t have the part to fix it and they would have to get it. So after being inconvenienced by not having my car for the day, the problem wasn’t even fixed. So after a couple of weeks of not hearing anything from the dealership, I called to check on it. They still didn’t have the part. So now it’s August 19th and I called again to check on it and there’s still no part to fix it. This is very discouraging since I drive this car often and there’s a fire risk of it being parked or driving. I don’t really understand what is going. Is there no part to fix the recall? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

17 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Hyundai Genesis

Failure Date: 04/02/2024

I have had intermittent brake pedal to the floor issue for the past two years. It started off occasionally, but turned into daily. It's very very dangerous as the brakes barely work. To remedy, I had the brake rotors and pads changed, brake fluid flushed. Did not fix the issue. Had the master cylinder replaced and it fixed the issue, but then two days later my brakes started binding (opposite problem). Replaced the hecu / abs module and still have the same issue. Now the car is not drivable because the brakes are binding. I called a local Hyundai dealership to see if they would try a goodwill hecu service, since previous years Hyundai Genesis were recalled with the exact same issue, but they said they would not do it for me. So I am trying to work out the issue through independent mechanics. This is a very dangerous issue as the brakes do not work and is a widespread issue affecting multiple bh model Hyundai Genesis owners.

On multiple occasions, occurring more and more frequently, my 2013 Genesis r-spec sedan has experienced brake pedal fade issues. The brakes work fine one minute and the next the pedal will go almost to the floor before slowing the vehicle down. The car has approximately 150k miles and is still in great shape. Brakes have been serviced, checked, and inspected by a reputable mechanic. No leaks or other issues noted. I did find a TSB related to this, Hyundai TSB 21-be-003h-1, also it looks like there is a recall on earlier models, recall number13v-489 / 114, built on or before March of 2012. My car was built oct 2012, but I believe it is affected. I contacted my local dealer to check to see if the TSB had been expanded or if there were any other issues and no deal. The person on the phone did tell me my car was not covered under the two issues above. I have since made an appointment to have the computer scanned to gather additional data. Please advise.
