I have a serious issue with my 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5. 0 r-spec. I have an ongoing exhaust smell/leak. It is very strong when starting the vehicle and at idle, especially when stopped at a red light. The smell seems to be either raw fuel or raw exhaust that is leaking from somewhere in the system. I have to place my ac system on recirculate or lower a window or the fumes become overwhelming. Once the vehicle is moving the smell subsides. On 01/18/2017 my local dealership preformed an evap service to possibly fix this issue to no avail. A second evap and ac system service on 02/01/17 was preformed and still the problem continues. The dealership says the charcoal fuel tank filter is fine and could not find any leaks in the exhaust system. I believe the smell is coming from the front of the car possibly the exhaust manifold of from the fuel system pluming. The car uses direct injection which is under very high pressure when working. I am worried that to much carbon monoxide could possible build up inside the car and cause an adverse health and safety issue.
