Transmission Not Engage Problems of Hyundai Genesis

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that the gear shifter did not engage in drive and seized completely. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to john amato Hyundai (414-357-8500, located at 8301 n 76th st, milwaukee, WI 53223) where it was diagnosed that the shifter gear was corroded. The technician cleaned the gear. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 49,259.

As im coming to a complete stop at a stop sign I accelerate onto a busy highway and the transmission acted as though it did not want to engage and the motor reved up and caused my vehicle to fish tail. My daughter and I were in the vehicle.

Manual transmission sometimes fails causing unsafe situations for drivers and passengers. Failures include transmission not engaging requested gear, failing to disengage gear, grinding while engaging gear. Hyundai has so far been willing to replace transmission and related parts however no "fix" currently exists.
