The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the forward collision avoidance system erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure there were no other vehicles or objects nearby. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. In addition, while making left turns there was a popping sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the front differential was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 250.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving approximately 4 mph as he was turning onto a main road, the vehicle slid on a patch of ice and slid across the road way. The contact stated he had crashed into the curb on the opposite side of the road with his right front tire and stopped. The contact stated that there was no damage, however the steering wheel was off center at a 45 degree to the left. The contact stated that he could steer the vehicle in a straight line, but the steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle, as if he was turning to the left. The contact stated that after the crash numerous warning lights were illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer who determined that the right front tie rod was bent and that all of the collision sensors and the abs module and the steering column sensor needed to be replaced. The contact was advised that the advanced collisions sensors could not be reset. The right front passenger tie rod had been replaced. The vehicle had been partially repaired. The contact stated that the dealer could not determine why the sensors could not be reset. The vehicle sensor system had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,800. The VIN was unavailable.
