The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the forward collision avoidance system erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. During the failure there were no other vehicles or objects nearby. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. In addition, while making left turns there was a popping sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer who determined that the right front tie rod was bent and that all of the collision sensors and the abs module and the steering column sensor needed to be replaced. The contact was advised that the advanced collisions sensors could not be reset. The right front passenger tie rod had been replaced. The vehicle had been partially repaired. The contact stated that the dealer could not determine why the sensors could not be reset. The vehicle sensor system had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,800.
