The dealer at selma Hyundai (2505 highland Ave. Selma, CA. 93662) was unable to complete the the recall. Dealer stated “unable to complete pods update attempted multiple times. Current scan tool does not support hook-up to cables and option is to update no present. Air bag light due to pods (passenger occupant ecu) fault with loss of calibration. Scan tool will not communicate with passenger seat module. ” “no repair at this time. ”.
My car has active recalls for the brake switch (prevents brake lights from working properly) and systems related to proper airbag deployment. In addition, there is a service recall (it doesn't show in your database, but it is Hyundai service campaign 936 (https://autoservice. Hyundaiusa. Com/campaign936/micrositetemplate/micrositetemplatevinvalidate/1224) related to the valve gasket literally dumping oil out to the point that it destroys the alternator - it destroyed my ac compressor, too! that's not the main point of this, but it's relevant in general. I have been attempting to schedule an appointment to get these issues resolved, but all local dealers tell me the recalls have "expired" and refuse to even look at the car. Some legitimately stop answering the phone when I call at this point, it just rings forever. The online tool to make an appointment from the official Hyundai site has you pick a time to bring the car in, but the dealers to not allot any slots to this so none are available to select. I contacted Hyundai corporate customer service to resolve this, and was told I'd need to "continue trying to work with the dealers. " it was no help at all. I am trying to fix the issues myself - my car is currently half-assembled in my garage, and I am technically proficient (I hope!), but it seems ridiculous to be denied service for active safety recalls - and keep in mind, I am only trying to do it myself because the dealers refuse to and I don't want to die in a fiery car crash. I shouldn't be forced to do this. Oh, in addition - Hyundai won't reimburse me for the repairs (I bought my own alternator/compressor once work was refused). . . Because they aren't being done at a dealership! it'd be hilarious if it wasn't so scummy. Thank you for any help you can offer. I am legitimately losing my mind at this point.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 212,000.
The vehicle, (2007 Hyundai Santa Fe in excellent condition) struck a cow head on at 60 miles per hour and the airbags failed to deploy. It is available on request for a few months. The three occupants of the vehicle suffered from banging around inside. Concussion and sore muscles a few minor cuts but were otherwise very lucky. There was no prior indication of a problem with the airbags.
I would like to have the vehicle removed and compensate the value to prevent loss of my human life or of another person.
Takata recall : I would like to know why my airbags do not need to be replaced or are not listed for recall. In the summertime this vehicle sits in 90 to 100 of a temperatures with the airbag being exposed to this high heat. . When I do a VIN search the only thing that comes up is a recall for the harness hitch which has not been performed to my vehicle because it does not have a tow hitch on it.
While our vehicle was making a slow turn, another vehicle traveling at approx. 50 mph, crashed into the passenger side, then our car was flipped and landed on the roof. None of the airbags deployed. All passengers were wearing seat belts. When the car flipped, the rear passenger seat belt released and became unsecured, tossing the passenger. Significant damage to the cabin cage and side door panels. . . . . Updated 04/23/15.
Bought car airbag warning came on. Notified dealer says not recall. When in fact air bag has problem.
Hi, I took my car today to Hyundai of white plains for "air bag" warning campaign "camp 103". The dealership charged me 119 usd for this. I am tried to contact Hyundai as I did not gets satisfactory answer when I called Hyundai customer connect. I am writing my concern to national highway traffic safety administration by this complaint. According to the recall letter this check/repair should be free of charge and this is miss leading part on Hyundai motors, USA. Please look in to this matter and help me as a customer of vehicle with recall. Thank you, jaydeep.
After the (airbag) light came on in transit to a death in the family two hours away! I felt the truck was unsafe to drive an set up an appointment to have checked out at a Hyundai dealer out of town. The dealer charged me $48 to tell me that a part in the steering wheel failed and would have to be replaced (clock spring) at a cost to me for $1300 for the part. I said I couldn't afford that right now. Now I'm driving a unsafe vehicle and the dealer dosen't seem to care. After reading many complaints about airbags not going off while in accidents I feel dealers are ignoring problems!.
I have moved since the recall has come out on the 2007 Santa Fe. I do not know if he letter came. I was informed if I did not have a letter they will not fix the recall. What can I do? it hall Hyundai on jefferson Ave, norfolk, va.
Passenger air bag deactivates due to misclassification of occupant (125 pound wife).
This complaint refers to the srs airbag system in the Santa Fe. While the airbag system is intact I have been told by a certified Hyundai repair center that the clock spring and the junction box have failed. Given the premature nature of this failure I believe that this system is flawed and represents a widespread hazard to the american public. In addition, all four brake rotors and the sway bar needed to be replaced with less than 70,000 miles due to excessive wear which rendered them unsafe (according to the aforementioned center).
The clock spring contact assembly, installed behind the steering wheel, that provides electrical connection between driver's air bag and air bag control module failed in June, 2010. This safety hazard had to be repaired on June 24, 2010 and I had to pay for the deductible of $100 on the extended warranty. Hyundai recently announced a vehicle recall on this safety hazard (campaign 103)--but refuses to accept my claim for repair reimbursement of the repair deductible "because I had the car repaired prior to the dates they allowed for this condition". I've owned several Hyundai's and this is absurd. My repair was June 24, 2010 and they won't allow claims for any repair prior to September 8, 2010 (a mere 10. 5 weeks difference)! claim [xxx]. It's the same problem that was repaired. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Passenger air bag randomly disables and enables while passengers are sitting in the seat. This indicates that the passenger air bag is not working properly and is a significant safety hazard.
My 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe was in a rollover crash on 12/23. None of the air bags opened. The car is a total loss.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. The front passenger side occupant system light illuminated when a 120 lbs. Adult was seated in the passenger seat. The dealer stated that the system was operating properly and there was no failure. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 08v161000 (air bags). The current mileage was 7,800 and failure mileage was 100.
