1 Horn Assembly problem of the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 09/01/2024

I have a problem with the horns on this vehicle. The horns have been replaced by the dealer 5 times so far and they are out again. The horns last about 1 to 2 mounths. There is no warning that the horn stopped working, and if it's needed in an emergency to avoid an accident and doesn't work, myself and others could get hurt. This is ongoing problem that should to be addressed.

3 Horn Assembly problem of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 09/03/2020

With less than 1000 miles on the car, the horn stopped working intermittently. (the majority of the time it didn't. ) the dealer kept the car for a week. The determination was that the "driver air bag clockspring has internal malfunction". The paperwork shows that it was replaced. Yesterday, approximately three weeks after the repair, the horn failed to work again while driving on the highway. (based on past experience, speed doesn't seem to be a factor. ).

4 Horn Assembly problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/12/2012

Air bag light on dash would stay on,andwhen locking car with key fob, lights would flash when pressing key fob first time, but on second press horn would not beep, vehicle alarm would go off intermittently. They replaced sensor under seat and it fixed problem for awhile. 6-20-2007,same exact problem again. After googling symptoms have found numerous complaints of almost the same problem or some variation there of!my question to the safety board is,why haven't you forced a recall on Hyundai on this issue?lives are being placed in jeopardy by your inaction. Is someone on Hyundais payroll there ,or what?if so they should have become a senator or congressman, thats where the big payoffs are.

5 Horn Assembly problem of the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/01/2009

Safety defect with horn activation in emergency situations. Excessive pressure on the steering wheel horn pad is need to activate the horn. This has happened numerous times when a potential collision /close call situation occurred. The central area of the steering wheel contains the driver air bag integrated with the horn activation subsystem. The manual pressure needed to activate the horn is what I believe is excessive and appears to be greater as you move away from the center of the horn-pad to the edge of the pad. I have asked the dealer numerous times about fixing this but he claims this in not possible. There is no adjustment available on this equipment. I've compared the amount of pressure needed on my Hyundai Santa Fe to my 1999 Lexus RX 300 and the Santa Fe requires much more pressure than the rx300. Both my wife and I have requested the dealers service managers to do something to reduce the amount of pressure but they have responded w/ the comment there is nothing that can be done.
