1 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 08/27/2020

Brake has been sticking last couple of weeks so that I had to pump brake to release to start. This morning I went out to the driveway and could not get into car with either remote or by using blue link on my phone. I used the manual key but could not release any other doors or lift gate. No lights, hazards, radio no nothing. I have had a few dead batteries and never had a car that dead overnight. I drove home from work previous night and I was outside after dark next to my car, no lights left on. I called roadside assistance, first guy said he thought there was a short, parking brake would not release and car still did not start. A different tow truck had to come with dollies and it was towed to the dealer. Dealer said it was a dead battery at 4918 miles! thankfully I was at home and the heat index was not at 105 degrees yet for the day.

2 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/03/2020

Date: Friday, 3 July 2020. My car would not unlock with the key fob. Thought the key fob was dead and grabbed the spare to try again. No luck with that one either. Tried using the blue link app to unlock. Unsuccessful again. Unlocked my car with the key from the fob and got in. None of the interior lights came on (I keep this feature on). That should have been my first clue. Tried starting the vehicle like the owner's manual suggests if the key fob battery is weak. Didn't work. I tried to test different functions that would normally work if a vehicle is off (I. E. The lock/unlock buttons and hazard lights). Nothing worked. I had to call for a tow to my dealership, which has to wait until after the holiday weekend (4th of July). I will not find out the problem until after. I did not leave any lights on or any doors open. I just used my car the day before this and there was no indication of anything wrong with the vehicle. No lights on the dash came on to alert me of anything and my car is acting dead. More dead than your regular needing a jump start dead. The only thing I have not tried is jump starting in fear of invalidating the warranty in some way. Thankful my car is just in my driveway and I'm not stranded with my kid somewhere.

3 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 10/25/2019

The fca (forward collision avoidance) system does no work as it should. It does not see vehicles or pedestrians directly in front while not in cruise control. The only time the system alarms is when following a vehicle, which is in the same lane on city streets, and then the target vehicle turns right and creates no hazard. The fca does not work according to what is mentioned in the owners manual, nor does it operate like it is shown in a youtube video sponsored by Hyundai.

4 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 09/03/2019

Over one month ago, my gps viewer showed a wrong time. I reset the clock and exited the feature. The clock quit appearing on the screen. At first I didn't notice it. Then when I did, I wasn't able to enter the program to set the clock: it was all dark on the choices. I read both my manuals and nothing in them talked about this problem. I had several friends read the manual and they couldn't find any information to fix this either. I went to the dealer and have it fixed and they said there is no fix for this. The second time I came to the dealer, the technician ordered the whole head unit and they said I have to wait for the order. It's about 4-5 weeks now and I still haven't heard anything. I called last week and they said there is no eta for it. I do not know what to do anymore.

5 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/29/2019

Using the car in eco when entering the interstate I'm speeding up my car goes higher in rpms and is not shifting to correct the change and I'll have to flip it into manual and shift into a higher gear. This has happened at least 3 times and does not happen every time but the first time almost got me hit by a car because I couldn't slow down due to timing and also was not speeding up correctly due to the car not auto correcting.

6 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 03/27/2017

Apple carplay completely disables all of the vehicle's native audio warnings and alerts when it is in use. In other words, if one is listening to music, using siri, or making a phone call through carplay, none of the car's built-in safety features work as designed; the audio is silenced and carplay completely takes over the audio system. This would include blind spot monitoring, lane departure monitoring, forward collision avoidance, cross-traffic alert, etc. . This only happens with carplay in use; if Hyundai's native software is controlling the system and the phone is only connected through bluetooth, the systems function normally. Hyundai makes no reference to this in their manuals and seems to be unaware of the problem. Apple does not provide any product support for carplay whatsoever. This is a case of a nonessential entertainment system interfering with safety systems. Hyundai and apple should be made to correct this, or at least make consumers aware of it.

7 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 11/16/2014

Whether the vehicle is running idle or driving at any speed, the ac is manually turned off within 30 to 60 seconds the ac will turn on by itself. This is an electrical issue that could cause a fire, property damage, a crash, or fatality and should be address by the manufacture.

8 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/01/2009

Safety defect with horn activation in emergency situations. Excessive pressure on the steering wheel horn pad is need to activate the horn. This has happened numerous times when a potential collision /close call situation occurred. The central area of the steering wheel contains the driver air bag integrated with the horn activation subsystem. The manual pressure needed to activate the horn is what I believe is excessive and appears to be greater as you move away from the center of the horn-pad to the edge of the pad. I have asked the dealer numerous times about fixing this but he claims this in not possible. There is no adjustment available on this equipment. I've compared the amount of pressure needed on my Hyundai Santa Fe to my 1999 Lexus RX 300 and the Santa Fe requires much more pressure than the rx300. Both my wife and I have requested the dealers service managers to do something to reduce the amount of pressure but they have responded w/ the comment there is nothing that can be done.
