1 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2023

The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving into the driveway and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The failure caused the vehicle to roll to a stop instead of stopping immediately. The brake failure warning light was illuminated. The contact, who is a certified mechanic, inspected the vehicle and found that the rear brake lines and the cross over line was completely rusted and there was a hole from the rust in the lines. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000.

Driving on the highway and my car just died out of no where took it to get looked at only to find out the engine died car got so hot it had to sit over night to cool. Also was driving one day and rook a turn amd my brakes wouldn't stop took it in and found out the entire brake line was corroded had to spend thousands to get it fixed.

3 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2018

While coming to a complete stop at a red light, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Luckily I was very close to home, but I had to depress the brake pedal very early at all remaining stops for the remainder of the trip. Upon further inspection, I discovered the right rear brake line has developed a leak above the suspension sub-frame.

4 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2016

My 2006 Sonata only has 65,000 miles. But the airbag light always on from this year and brake line was rust. For the airbag, the light in dashboard is on when car starting, and the passanger airbag is off even if someone sitting on passanger seat. For the brake, the front brake line was rusted last year and all the brake oil is totally leak out, so there is no brake when driving it. And the rear brake line is broken this year due to rust. I am in freeway when the rear brake leaks, so image how terriable it is. Never seen this from other 10 year old vehicles.

5 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2013

On my way to work one morning I noticed that I had next to no pressure in my brakes. When I had my neighbor investigate what was wrong, he noticed that my hard brake lines were so rusted and corroded due to snow/salt/etc, that my brake line nearly crumbled to the touch. I had to replace this brake line for my car to be safe. The person that worked on my car informed me that there is a groove that this line sits in, which caused it to sit with the salt/snow that corroded it. My car is only 7 years old, and I take very good care of it. This is in my opinion a very dangerous.
