The alternator and battery of this vehicle has been switched at least 3 times. Purchased new and all, yet the car keeps getting drained and left powerless. Something is draining the energy of the vehicle and the root to the problem is not known.
There appears to be something wrong with the car's electrical system. While driving at night, the headlights flicker, and the radio/clock lights flicker on and off when the turn signals are used. In addition, about a month ago I was driving in the rain, and had the a/c running. Whenever the windscreen wipers were running, the car's engine lost power and felt like it was going to cut off. When the electrical load was reduced, the engine operated normally. I had the alternator checked and was told that it was functioning fine.
Intermittent flashing and blinking dashboard and exterior light while turn signal or wipers are engaged after this incident happens the battery is drained of power. Battery test full load and alternator test good. The battery is wearing down because of this malfunctioning electrical problem. Last night (8/21) something new happened. When I went to start the car I found it dead again; yet the " lights on" indicator light was visible on the dash buy the light switch was in the off position. I have others witness this crazy malfunction over the past 4 months and yet the Hyundai dealership cannot replicate the problem and therefore will not replace the combo switch (as diagnosed by my corner mechanic).
