I have to replace both front and back lights very often. They are always blowing out. Very unsafe. There have been times when both front lights have gone out and I've ended up in very dangerous situations.
I replaced my break lights bulbs over 10 times in one year, and a number of police warnings, and I'm an african american male. I'm tired of being stopped for a break light issues.
The lights turn off after turning or even just normal driving. The dashboard indicator shows this happening. Then you just have to hope they turn on.
I have had both my back light harnesses where a bulb has blown and it was so hot it melted the bulb ends into the socket and I had to replace the whole harness for both sides. This has also happened on my front passenger side as well. This is concerning to me and I know they have had numerous complaints on this and it is a safety issues, but yet they have not done any recalls. Why please advise. Thank you.
On numerous occasions, I am pulled over for having a left tail-light that is out. I have utilized my local Hyundai dealership recently to address the situation as I frequently change the light bulb out, and end up with yet the same light out within days/weeks. After I have paid the dealership roughly $75 to get a brake switch replaced to address the problem, my light is out once again.
The brake lights and headlights keep going out within a few month of changing the bulbs.
I have had both my back light harnesses where a bulb has blown and it was so hot it melted the bulb ends into the socket and I had to replace the whole harness for one side and might have to replace it for the other side as well. The vehicle inside dash lights eould also start flickering off and on as well as the outside lights while the vehicle is in motion. This is concerning to me and I know they have had numerous complaints on this and it is a safety issue, but yet they have not done any recalls. Why please advise.
I have contacted the Hyundai headquarters several times, about what I believe to be an electrical problem in my vehicle. The lights (break and drive) in my vehicle continue to blow out, even after being replaced numerous times. My break light casing has melted, as a result of what I believe to be associated with a previous recall. This recall, caused break lights to remain on, which caused overheating and burning. I took my car to the dealership to service this problem after being instructed to do so be a representative. However, I was informed that there was no issue, that needed to be serviced. However, I continue to experience this issue. I have witnessed countless Hyundai’s being driven by other drivers and they too, seem to experiencing malfunctioning break lights. I even paid to have a diagnostic test completed at the Hyundai dealership, in an attempt to rectify the problem. However, I was informed the there was no electrical issue present. This is a huge safety concern, because driving without properly working lights, is illegal and I have received traffic violations for doing so. It is extremely unsafe, due to having the ability to cause accidents on the road. If other drivers are not aware of my vehicle stopping or even being on the road, due to improperly displayed lights. It creates a huge safety concern. Recently, I’ve begun to smell gas coming from my vehicle and then I received the recall notice associated with the fuel pump. Since then, I have received a second notice regarding this recall. Neither letter, addresses when my vehicle will be serviced. I am extremely nervous to drive my vehicle, due to the fuel leakage and the ability that it can cause a fire in my engine. I am extremely displeased with Hyundai, and I no longer want this vehicle. Since purchasing this car, there have been several recalls. Additionally, I have attempted to speak with Hyundai directly, and they have refused to assist me further.
When I'm driving the lights come on out of nowhere I even complained to the dealership about this a year and a half ago and it still keeps happening seems like they don't know what the problem is either.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the low and high beam headlights failed to illuminate and was replaced on several occasions. Additionally, the driver’s and passenger’s side taillights were inoperable. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.
1. Break light in back window remains on. . . As though break is depressed, when parked. Stays on 24/7! will not go off! I have tried placing the top of my foot up under break, and lightly pulling up; light flickers off for a second. . . In this upward motion, and then quickly returns to solid light! 2. Accelerator intermittently DE-accelerates. . . With no warning, which is dangerous when pulling into oncoming traffic, or on highway. . . When trying to stay with the flow of traffic. I have to keep pumping accelerator, until it "engages", once again. Very dangerous!.
Since buying this car as 2nd owner I have replaced the rear brake bulb 5 times in 1 yr. The wiring seems to be the issue. Last week car literally doesn't start when trying to it sputters and then I have to cut it off to go finally get it to start. Today it turned over but sputtering continues 2 more times when try to to start, then 3rd time it cranks.
Taillight assembly melted and had to replace entire assembly. I'm seeing a lot of complaints about this from other Sonata owners.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. On several occasions, while driving at night, the headlamps became inoperable. When the headlamps worked, the illumination was not bright enough to operate the vehicle safely. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
I had to replace the cv joint on one side of the car and then months later the other side. I was told by my body shop that this was happening with alot of the Hyundai Sonatas. Also, I have replaced light bulbs blowing monthly in my car and one ha actually burned. I have also found out that several people have had problems with this as well.
Head lamps turn off and dash go to max illumination, temporarily blinding the driver. The duration is up to 5 seconds. This can happen just once or several times per occurrence. Inside the car can be like a slow strobe light effect. This occurs while driving in any conditions. There is no warning and the problem starts. I have had the problem with this car since 2017. The problem just randomly happens.
Sonata recall: well for starters I almost got hit by a 18 wheeler because the car shut off on the interstate while I was driving. Lucky I was to get the car to the side of the road but it hit the side rail because I couldnt get it to stop. Now the car will not start at all. All of the lights came on at once and it scared me to death because my kids were in the car with me.
Airbag light comes on and stays on. I can reset it and the light goes away but comes back later.
Cannot enter car from key remote. Then cranking the car became a real problem especially after it got heated. Not able to start car once it cut off.
First- airbag light comes on randomly driving, in park or reverse. Second my interior light is in door mode does not go off as it should this is random as well sometimes it will go off other times it does not. I have to keep it in off mode - not fun at night leaving in dark for work or loading unloading babies. It has to stay in off mode so battery doesn't die. Third- cruise control once again random sometimes I can get it to set other times I cannot some times I can pull over park turn off and attempt again and it still doesn't work. Fourth- car wouldn't start , not battery related some interior lights worked some didn't radio didn't clock did all dash lights worked trunk would not open via inside button or ke button, gas tank would open with button. The door open alarm would ding. Fifth- odd sounds best described as grinding brakes fan belt movement that's broke and this is louder and louder then stops also has odd smell at the times of occurrence -dealership claims nothing is wrong obviously something is. These have been different occurances sometimes more than once at the same time. Some occurring for a couple of months now.
takata recall my car always has something going one. I have changed one of break light like 3 times because it keeps going on and off. It's some time of electrial issue which can lead to something dangerous. I am honestly scared to keep driving my car with my child inside. Don't even know if my airbag works because the light is always on. I have taken it to the mechanic but that light never goes off. I'm tried of changing my break light over and over again I don't know what to do.
I was driving my vehicle on July 25, 2018 and it suddenly stopped on the highway. I took it in and was told that there was an engine failure.
I brought this vehicle from sheehy of waldorf and this vehicle has been problems I have been stop by police in baltimore city taillights keep blowing and front engine problems front end problem my insurance company said this vechicle been declared unsafe to drive I brought this report and they deleted information of the carfax and me state inspection mileage is different and my title and contact has the same mileage and the service paper os lies gm told ke no new tire was not put on the car but service paper that they states new tires on the carfax they state only thing they done on inspection was a left tire end the wiring is cut on both sides on back lights and were the fuses its alot of electric tape they scammed me and did fraudulently activity to me with this car I was told this title been wash it not safe to drive on the road engine problem front end problem tires worm I didn't put four thousand miles really.
The front lights and back lights keep blowing. I can't keep lights working. I have purchased probably 30 bulbs for this car.
The break lights for this vehicle have repeatedly gone out throughout the years of having the car. The bulbs have been replaced numerous times and the problem persists. This problem seems to be linked to manufacturing and potentially an electrical issue. Now, the bulbs seem to melt and become hard to remove. The socket for the light appears to even warp. Though this report requests a specific date, this problem seems to have persisted for atleast two-three years.
The rear light assembly keeps burning out the light bulb. I changed the light bulbs several times and then replaced the unit left and right side. Believe it is an electrical issue. Also, something inside the steering will is moving around.
Car trunk pops open when car is off. Car constantly locks when off amd when on. Sonetimes takes 5 minutes to get it yo unlock so I can get out. Some times the door starts to unlock and then doesn't fully . Lights inside on ceiling won't go off until car is restarted and the off side is clicked. Radio goes on and off. Car beeps sometimes for no reason when its on and when its off and some days won't stop for a few minutes . Not like alarm beeping. Just random beeps . Its been happening since I got the car but wasn't tokd if there was any issue before I bought it used.
Most of the complaints describe is the exact same thing happening to my vehicle engine repair 2 times . Break lights burned replaced by auto zone lower control arm and tire rod in outer replaced it is so stressful hard to even talk about .
When using breaks it causes bulb socket to melt housing, etc and break light stops working over and over . The rear break light keeps burning out and melting inside the socket. You have to change whole socket because the bulb just melts and you can not remove. Im afraid my car is going to catch fire.
There is and has been a very loud rattling noise coming from the steering column. When on the freeway, I must drive under 60 mph to avoid the noise. If there is a dip in the road or a speed bump it rattles loud. The steering wheel does not shake, so it isn't affecting my driving, but very disturbing and embarrassing. The lighting, there is a short. I'm constantly having to replace or tightened every couple of months. I spoke to someone that works at kragen who also has a Sonata and he said he had the same problem until he ordered a $40. 00 casing. When he replaced my lights, he was unable to remove the bulb by twisting. He had to brake it because it had melted. I have not ordered it yet, but he ducked taped it in place and I still have the issues. This is ridiculous that I have to go through this. I'm an uber driver and I am trying to keep my car safe and in great condition, but it is disturbing when someone tell me my lights are out.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. While driving various speeds at night, the external and instrument panel lighting flickered randomly. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (southtowne Hyundai, 7665 GA-85, riverdale, GA 30274). The contact was informed that if the failure could not be repeated, the failure could not be determined. On a separate occasion, the lighting failed independently and the engine began to lose power without warning. The contact stated that the failure began after having the vehicle repaired per TSB:10110926 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the TSB was not related to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The tail lights in this car are constantly burning out. We have to replace them about every month or two. It’s either one side or the other and it has happened so many times since we had the car it’s ridiculous.
Over the last 24 months my dashboard, parking, dome, and /or rear lights have gone on by themselves. It has happen more than 12 times the car was off and it happens sometimes during the day, sometimes at night. The vehicle was parked in a public lot or in front of my house. I was not able to shut light off using the remote. The dealer was not able to fix this problem and had no suggestions. This is a safety because the car would not start a number of times and service had to be called. Please advise if this is a recurring issue with this model and if you can be of help to rectify the problem. Thank you.
With the Honda Sonata the door lights want go off on both the driver and the passenger side. With this problems in mind I have to keep buying battery because it keep killing the battery. I keep applying tape on the knob to keep the light from staying on but that's not working. I know this is a defect because its on both doors.
Driving car on a main street with my kids and without warning lights in dashboard come on and car begins to stall. I try tomove to side of road and park and car as best I can on the side. Car turns off and doesn't turn back on.
