On April 17th around 1pm I was driving down hey 64 when my car stalled. In the middle of the road and cut off and I pulled it on the side of the highway. The Hyundai website states that this specific car has. Engine issues and that it may stall due to. Engine difficulties but when I put in my VIN no issue. Pops up. Just because the issue doesnt pops up doesnt mean im not having to deal with my engine cutting off in the middle of the highway. I been. Loyal to Hyundai for almost 13 years and to have this happen to. Me was very disheartening and scary and for. Hyundai to act unconcerned really. Is bothering me buti just hope for the best to see a resolution. I just moved to a new. City for better career opportunities and to not have a car and cough out 1k for a rental is disheartening and I hope. This gets fixed.

Engine replaced in 2015 after seizing and recall of theta 11. Vehicle serviced including oil change at dealership on 2/11/21. On 2/22/21 engine knocked twice and vehicle stalled. Drifted off road, turned key off, put car in park. Within 3 minutes engine was on fire with flames extending below car. Fire department put fire out and had car towed to suburban Hyundai service department.

Brake and tail light continues to burn out. I have replaced bulbs and entire assembly every couple weeks and it melts the units as well as my engine stalls out and will not accelerate and does this intermittently.

The engine stop working. When I attempt to start the car, the engine turns, but doesn't start while, sitting at the traffic light the engine stalled and would not restart.

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving, there was an abnormal odor and noises coming from the engine, all the warning lights illuminated, and then the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road and noticed smoke coming from the engine. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was unable to start. The contact pushed the vehicle into a parking lot where it currently was parked. The contact called an independent mechanic where it was advised that a new engine be installed. The contact later contacted world car Hyundai north, 12908 interstate 35 north bldg 2, san antonio, TX 78233, and informed them of the failure. The dealer informed the contact that the warranty was only for a 120,000 miles and provided no further assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,537.

Engine is using 3 quarts of oil per 2,000 miles and transmission keeps have shifting problems that they just keep reprogramming it to fix, engine stalls.

While driving, engine stalled. Was able to pull to side of the highway. Tried to restart the car, and engine was knocking. Had car towed to dealership. Dealer is balise in fairfield CT. Service department said the engine had a recall. #162. They sent their findings to Hyundai main office. The following week, they said that the same tests had to be resent. Then the manager of service department said that there wasn't a recall. After I was told there was. I called the Hyundai directly. I recorded all my conversations with them. I was told there is a recall for engine. That it can stall while driving. Exactly what happened to me. I set a case number with Hyundai. I was told they would get back with me. They have not for over a week. Haven't heard back from the dealer in week and a half. I've been told they would return my call. But have not received a call. It's been 3 weeks since they have had my car with no response. I asked for a loaner car. I was told that I would only get a loaner car if Hyundai paid for the work. Even then, they prob won't have a loaner car. Hyundai sent me a text message stating that the engine was under recall, #162.

Engine has been replaced 2 times doing 65 mph on freeway loses power in addition air bag light is on when they had car for 3 weeks they gave it back and said they didn't know what was wrong with airbags I had vehicle towed there 2 days ago again and spoke to eric at palm springs Hyundai and he said they were trying to figure out problem with engine they installed and if I wanted him to diagnose airbags problems it would be a 150 diagnosis fee they had the car there the first time for 3 weeks and released it and til my daughter that they could not figure it out airbags issues are dangerous if they are not working correctly and deploy on freeway I told eric service guy this but he giggled and said it would cost 150 dollars diagnostic fee which he said they checked several months ago I lent my daughter who drives my 8 year old grandson my vehicle because I was concerned of their safety I am a cancer patient and need a vehicle to get back and forth to my doctors when I asked eric about a rental he brushed me off and said there were none available at this point I am going to call abc investigative reporters because I am at a wits end I really need help with this matter thank you steve rivera airbags also 7608986963.

While exiting the freeway, my engine, eps, battery and oil lights all went on and my engine stalled out. This resulted in a tow to an auto repair shop, where I was told there was likely a rod bearing failure in the engine, which requires replacing the engine. After some research, I discovered active Hyundai recall 132 - engine inspection / replacement, which is very similar to what I experienced. This recall is not currently associated with my VIN, however, despite fitting the description and model years affected. Shouldn't I have been issued a recall notice for this?.

Car was going down road when engine stalled and wouldn't turn back on. Seems to be the typical issue that most 2011 Sonatas are having where the engine seized. Dealer diagnosed and confirmed that the engine did seize while driving. This should be a mandatory recall to swap the engine in all of these vehicles. Hyundai should not just be allowed to extend their warranty and hope it doesnt happen to the others.

My brakes lights keep going out. Changed multiples time and they burn out. Also the right passenger headlamp keeps blowing out and is much dimmer than the right even when I insert a new bulb. Driving on a dark road is like functioning with one headlamp. After having the engine sensor installed the engine light comes on.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. While operating the vehicle, the engine suddenly stalled and would not restart. Carmax (2696 john hawkins pkwy, hoover, al) diagnosed that the engine was faulty. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000.

Our 2012 Sonata is now on its 3rd engine (1 original and 2 add'l). These were subject to recall. Went for my routine oil change and my mechanic pointed out that there were metal shavings in old oil and on drain plug. Are we looking at another new engine to be installed. Bought it new as a commuter car because of the warranty, but it has spent more time in shop than me driving it.

I took the car for his first oil change and they applied a recall "software update" right after going out driving in the highway the engine started stalling not going more that 22mph, check engine on and problem in screen saying to return to dealer. I did right after and they said it was the engine wiring harness. . They game me a rental car because the harness is not in "stock" so lets see how long it takes. . I just noticed there is a lot of the same problem reported to this car with the same problem. 4221 miles brand new sel+ model. . .

March 27, 2019, about 3:00pm, I was driving through a traffic light 25 mph & the engine stalled shutting off. Would not restart. An hour later the tow truck driver tried to restart was unsuccessful.

Purchase car in 2014 and received a. Recall about engine could stall or stop. On the road took it in for fix change oil check dip stick. After two other recalls I received a brochure to keep in my glovebox that the motor could stall like the previous recall. Iworry about driving a car with this defect. My wife and me are 80yrs it worry's us. If and when we sell or trade car in do we let them no about the problem. Do you have car in stock that does not have these problems because it would hard to sell.

Took vehicle for a safety recall on Feb 22, 2019. After leaving the dealership the engine stalled on a busy highway. Narrowly escaped getting into an accident/ crash. Vehicle is back at dealership and they are trying to figure out the problem. I browsed the internet and saw that there are several similar complaints of the engine stalling. The main issue I have is that no one at the dealership informed me of this problem. Will it take crashes and people dying before a recall is orderd on this known problem.

Engine stalls out.

While driving in traffic car began to jerk and lose speed though the engine was running. The car stopped in the middle of moving traffic. Transmission fluid spilled out profusely. Transmission was replaced but started to slip again the same day I picked it up after new (remanufactured) transmission was installed by the Hyundai dealer. Prior to this transmission issue, the alternator in my car failed while driving in the middle of moving traffic. This complete transmission failure occurred shortly after a new engine was installed because the original engine seized and failed prior. Alternator was replaced. The newly installed alternator failed again. A new alternator was once again installed. I am now having similar electrical problems yet again and there is a current concern that the vehicle may possibly stop suddenly and hazardously again while in motion.

Vehicle exhibits sticky steering and engine has stalled 3 times. Steering is very difficult to control as it sticks severely when trying to steer or maneuver the vehicle on any local road or highway. Vehicle has stalled 3x already when coming to a complete stop. Vehicle shakes when brake is released moving from a complete stop.

Last week I was driving down an busy street when suddenly my 2011 Hyundai Sonata stalled! thankfully I was able to get my vehicle out of the road just in time or else I could've been in a life threatening accident. The next day I took my vehicle to a mechanic who then explained to me I would need an entire new motor. Please keep in mind that I keep up with up the maintenance on my vehicle and I haven't had any other issues until now! I then began to do research on possible recalls and there was a recall in 2015 for my exact car year and model for engine stalling! I need this issue resolved ASAP!.

Takata recall: my 2013 Hyundai sanota is not getting enough oil or to the bearimgs I have already taken the car to the hyunida dealership and let them fix the 5 recalls it already had on it which one was this issue after the fact they was "fixed" 3 months later in constantly having to replace purge valve manifister valves pretty much and thing thay has to do with fuel or air or gas getting to the engine now its constently stalling when im on the expressway amd today smoke started coming out from under the hood I really liked this car it only has 103,000 miles on it I do all the dealership recommended maintence amf this is what I get very upset with hyudai sense they supposably fixed the recall for that already theres nothing they can do so theres 10,000. 00 dollars down the drain.

I have had issue after issue with my 2011 Sonata. In just a year and a half I have had 5 things fixed or replaced 2 of them major. I've had the whole break assembly fixed for my break lights not working. Most recently I had to have the engine replaced due to it seizing up with just barely over 100k miles. Then 3 months after that I'm having issues with the cruise randomly turning off, the break lights not working. Also the gear shifter will not go into gear at times. One of the major issues ive had is the engine randomly stalling or the accelerator nor working at all. The issue ive had with the cruise control will randomly happen whether I'm moving or in park and during this is also effects the stability control as well and it will turn its self off. With the car stalling, it randomly happens whether I'm at a traffic light trying to accelerate or while I'm driving.

Engine stalls at high speeds and slow down dramatically. Have taken to hyudai twice, they say the engine recall has nothing to do with stalling only knocking and they want to charge me $104 diagnostic charge when clearly all the newspaper say that it possibly has debris which can clog fuel lines and cause stalling, they said this in not covered under the warranty or recall. It has happened numerous times in the past three years, but they won't do anything about it. Last time is listed below.

I lost all power, and right away lost power steering and braking was hard. Luckily I was on a quiet road and not on a highway, I couldn't comprehend a sudden engine stall like this on a busy interstate losing both power brakes and power steering. The car had about 45,000 miles. Hyundai said the engine is totally fried and they will require a complete rebuild which could take months. The service advisor said this is a known issue with the 2013 Sonata.

An independent mechanic diagnosed that the engine assembly needed to be replaced. The dealer ourisman Hyundai, 301-249-4227 diagnosed that the engine assembly needed to be replaced as well. The vehicle was not included in any manufacturer recalls which was unacceptable to the contact who was uncertain if the vehicle may be repaired. The vehicle was unable to be driven due to the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000. Dyd.

Engine was recalled in 2015, the warranty for the engine recalled was extended to 10 years 120,000 mile warranty. I just recently bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata turbo 2. 0 with 146,000 miles. After less than a month of my son driving it the engine began stalling out and smelled of smoke. I contacted Hyundai to see if they would perform the inspection and do the repair work they stated they would not since the car exceeded had exceeded the mileage warranty. I am currently having a new engine installed, and would like the NHTSA to investigate and see if I can get a reimbursement for the engine replacement cost.
