I have been trying to communicate with Hyundai in regards to my electrical with my lighting, I have informed them that my back brake lights have went out at least every month changing them no less than twice a month a long with the head lights, now the part that holds the bulb has totally melted and you can smell the burning and they said that is not covered I have burned myself on this trying to evaluate the situation so I guess I will have to burn in the car after the wiring has completely melted everything else in the vehicle.

2011 Hyundai Sonata limited 2. 4l. Left brake light out for the forth time. . But, this time the new bulb replacement wouldn't fix the problem. I had to have all the recalls fixed, so I made an appointment with the closest dealership an hour away in terre haute, in. The very next day. After they fixed one of the recalls they had to reschedule me for the following day to do all the rest, as they stated it would take most of the day to do. So, the next day my partner following behind me noticed that now both my brake lights were completely out! we again reported the brake light situation to the dealership upon arriving at 8am and dropped off the car. At 5pm that day we called to check on their progress and they stated that they were finishing up on the recalls but that the wiring harness on the brake lights had all melted together on both sides! and, they were unable to fix it until the next day. Ugh. . Then, quoted me $523. 23 to fix it! I've read countless people complaining of this same issue and wonder how many accidents this has caused. Dangerous and absolutely ridiculous! this should be covered in a recall.
Both rear brake lights keep blowing bulbs the housing for the bulb melted unable to change light bulbs forced to replace housing and wiring I've seen this on almost every same year Sonata GLS and or turbo no matter how many times we replace bulbs they burn out and I'm left without brake lights.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the tail light bulb lights failed and were replaced several times. The vehicle was taken to pohanka Hyundai (1770 ritchie station CT, capitol heights, MD 20743, (301) 899-0480) where it was diagnosed that there was a wiring issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owned a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. While the contact's daughter was driving, the vehicle started to smoke under the hood. The contact's daughter pulled into a parking space. Upon further inspection, the contact's daughter's boyfriend lifted the hood when the engine compartment suddenly caught fire without warning. The contact stated that a general manager of a nearby store extinguished the fire. No injuries were sustained and a police report was not filed. The insurance company had the vehicle inspected and diagnosed that the fire started behind the engine due to a shortage in the windshield wiper wiring. The contact called jim shorkey uniontown kia (724-317-0282 located at 1050 pittsburgh rd, uniontown, PA 15401), but the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,800.
The air bag light is constantly on, meaning that in the event of an accident, they will not deploy. Incredibly dangerous. This is apparently due to wiring underneath the passenger seat stretching and pinching from moving the seat itself and when things are placed underneath the seat that may disturb the wiring. I know it is the wiring underneath the passenger seat due to checking the trouble code and also being able to temporarily fix the issue for a couple weeks by gingerly moving the wires until the light went away. Now I can't get the light to go away no matter what methods I try. Can't find a replacement set of wires nor can I locate which wire specifically is being affected to try to fix the issue myself. I have seen dozens of people making this same complaint about the airbag light staying on. This needs a recall since this can easily lead to death since the airbag will not deploy to attempt saving methods to passengers. Light was on for the previous owner for I don't know how long and has been on for me for almost a year now.

The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. While driving various speeds or while the vehicle was parked, the rear brake lights failed to illuminate when the brake pedal was being depressed. The esc traction warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to tameron Hyundai (1595 montgomery hwy, birmingham, al 35216 (205) 380-6250) where it was diagnosed with a shortage in the wire that connects the brakes to the brake light. Unknown repairs were made, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My driver's side airbag light has been on for quite some time, and my passenger side airbag light is not detecting anyone sitting in the passenger seat. I took my car to a mechanic and was told it's an electrical issue with my airbags and may be due to a faulty wiring issue under the front passenger seat. Additionally, the low beam on my driver side lighting fixture is not working, although I've had the bulb replaced multiple times. Further, the headlights, although also replaced, don't work at all.

I have replaced numerous brake lights and they keep getting melted and burnt out. Im not sure if its the electrical wiring or the actual housing of the brake light itself but this needs to be recalled. I see numerous of the same cars with the same issue. Also during summer months you can smell strong gas fumes throughout the car. As if I was directly breathing in gas. Its that bad. This is not right. This is supposed to be vented out of the vehicle. I have children in the car with me, who get dizzy and sick. This is while driving and while parked.
Brake lights-my back brake lights won't work. . Wiring problem? steering wheel-my steering assembly is loose and makes a loud clicking sound . . The dealership said it was a gear that needs to be replaced . . Air bags- I was in a wreck and the air bags never deployed. . Wasbhit hard. . Also now a default air bag light is on?.
After leaving 2013 Sonata parked for 3 hours car would not go over 5 miles an hour. After investigation by Hyundai mechanics they found that a portion of engine wiring harness had been chewed through by some kind of critter. Come to find out the material used as wiring insulation is soy based that attracts critters. This could be a sever safety issue that could lead to accidents, fires, or what ever.
Vehicle was overheating. Took to dealership and was told the wires were melting together and the wiring harness needed to be replaced. After replacing the wiring harness it was one problem after the next that the dealership contributed to the overheating. 3 turbo's replaced, the front and rear wiring harness, the computer control module, some tubes and hoses and 6 mos later. . . . The car seems to be running again but now there is a recall on the transmission. . . Ugh. I tried to have Hyundai let me out of the lease since I only had a few months left. Consumer affairs passed the buck to Hyundai lease and vice versa. It is a nightmare to work with this corporation. Filed a complaint with the bbb and was able to get reimbursed for two payments since they had my car in for repair for over 60 days but they would not let me out of the lease. Will never have a Hyundai again because of Hyundai motor America and the way they pass the buck, will not take responsibility, and take care of their customers. They are a horrible corporation.

2010 Hyundai Sonata. 9 months old, has been in the service center 5 different times. 2 times for sensor replacement. The last 3 times, driving at a normal accelerate pace. Check engine light comes on, esc light comes on and vehicle loses power. On one of those occasions, vehicle lost power while going through intersection, and almost was rear ended. Service department has replaced many parts from throttle position assembly to thermostat to electrical wiring harness. In my opinion, vehicle is a lemon.

In 12/21/09 airbag system light kept coming on. Took it to the dealer. They stated chip related to air bag system under the passenger seat was broken and I was not covered under warranty. Invoice # hycs89449 (dennis Hyundai of dublin) repairs estimated at $500 to $900. Called Hyundai with a complaint. The service manager then called we had a meeting. I paid $ 175. 03 to replace the chip. They also repaired passenger seat per NHTSA recall 13v-354 (note the recall repair only worked for about a year). After the warranty expired I took the vehicle to both the dealer and local repair shops. The airbag light would come one and then sometimes when I stopped reset its self or the dealer/repair shop could reset the light. The electrical wiring system started to act up after the 60,000 mile warranty period expired. The abs light comes on then goes off the radio will come in loud the get quiet. The constant however is the airbag system light. I had the seat belt (driver side) changed (twice) in 2011 as the first replacement in did not work. The airbag light was off for a short time and then came back on. It will not reset so the airbag light is always on. I have always felt this problem should be covered by Hyundai.

I had noticed at first the crack in the dashboard in 2006 right after I had purchased my car. They replaced the dashboard, but not correctly the first time. When I finally got my car back, I attempted to turn the headlights in my car on, at that time all of the interior lights of my car went out. There were wires that were apparently switched. At this time I called the dealership again and informed them of the new problem. This issue was subsequently fixed. After they replaced the dashboard I started to have probelms with the driver and passenger side air bag lights going on. The turned them off and stated it was my fault. About three months later both air bag lights came on again. At this time I took it to another dealer who looked up information on the computer and stated that it must have been my fault again. Someone went out to the car and shut them off but no paperwork was written up. Then another 3 months later the lights came on again and there was another crack in the dashboard around the passenger side air bag. I called the original dealer again and they ordered another dashboard for the car. At this time I asked them again to check to see about the airbag lights. They have had my car for a week now (I still do not have it back). While all the air bag lights issue was happening, there is also another issue with the abs and esc (electronic stability control) lights also coming on and not going off. I have been informed the the abs and esc light was coming on because there is a braking issue with the car. And the airbag lights that keep coming on and staying on is because of a sensor issue with the passenger side seat. They are not sure why this keeps happening. They are also not sure what caused the brake issue with the abs and esc lights.
Head lamps and fog lamps burn out all at the same time, possible short in wiring.
