Took vehicle to the dealer to check the air bag warning light. They said it was caused by the seat belt and wiring that needed to be replaced. After checking the recall information, there was a recall (056) under campaign number 02v290000. The dealer stated that the recall was not for my vehicle which was a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. I called Hyundai and spoke with their rep and she said the same even though the recall includes 2003 Hyundai Tiburons. This fix will cost me close to $400. 00 just to pass inspection. Makes you wonder what was done on vehicles produced after March 2003 that was claimed to correct this issue, considering so many Tiburons that were produced after this date are having the same issue. I currently own 3 Hyundais, very disappointed as this car has only 79961 miles. Updated 09/15/lj.

2007 Hyundai Tiburon. The air bag warning light goes off and on. I have taken it to the dealer numerous times. The mechanic has just "reset" the warning light. The mechanic mentioned to me that other customers have had problems. I asked why there wasn't a recall, and I got no response. Now the air bag warning light stays on all the time. The car is out of warranty. Why wouldn't the auto maker fix this problem before my car was out of warranty? why doesn't the auto manufacturer recall these vehicles?
this is not the first problem I have had with this auto. The first problem was bad tires. They kept going flat. The mechanic told me it was because I didn't drive enough. I bought new tires myself. They don't go flat, even though I still don't drive a lot.

Air bag warning light malfunction. The alarm has been reset with no reported code problems, but the air bag light will immediate fault when car is driven again. Thus when the light is on, the air bags will not work. Internet research indicates this failure happens to Hyundai Tiburon's of the same year as my car. Hyundai headquarters and local dealer were called and indicated there was a TSB for this problem, but it did not apply to my car and they will not issue a safety recall or investigate further. They would not provide specific details other than there are some air bag electrical system wiring/sensor problems with other cars in my model year range, but again my car does not have this problem. . .

Air bag warning light came on - won't go off dealer replaced driver seat belt buckle asembly - light came back on at 70,000.
This just happened one day. My air bag warning light came on the dash, and when I fastened in my seat belt it starts dinging like it's not fastened. It's annoying as I drive down the road. I've checked the air bag fuses and they are fine.
The car has been into Hyundai dealers 4 times since I've owned it. I am the original owner. Car has been in literally every other month since purchase in October 1998. Major problem has to do with the computer(s) and transmission. Check engine warning light, airbag warning light have both gone off. Car wouldn't shift and would hesitate at highway and side street speeds. Car just returned from dealer yesterday after 4th time in for repair. At 65 mph, the rpms suddenly shot to approx 5800. Car has been terribly unreliable. Hopefully it is fixed now, but I am filing this complaint because I fear that in another 2 months the problems will occur again.
