When driving at a slow speed, such as in a line of cars going through a drive thru, the vehicle begins to skip. Almost hopping along rather than slowly moving. I have observed it happening in both eco mode and regular driving mode. This is not a constant but frequent. I also have instances of where it doesn't pick up speed and takes time to shift gears. I think it may be the transmission skipping and not shifting gears appropriately causing it to hop or jump. At all time the care was in motion and on city streets never on a highways.
The transmission is not changing gears, dragging. The left tail light has gone out like 3 times in 2 years. I see a recall on transmissions on Tucson my year model but when I enter the VIN it says no active recalls not sure what to do ?.
The car jumps when moving off from a stop. In some cases the car stops moving ahead and it feels like the car is not in gear. The car then transmission reengages and the car accelerates hopping some times. When you stop again this happens again but at the next stop it might not happen.
Car is stopped at red light on highway (4 times) and once in driveway. Running and in gear. You attempt to move forward and it is as if the car was not in gear. It will not move for several minutes and then it will randomly engage and begin to move. Other complaints I have seen say it relates to the clutch but my dealership still has the car (for the second time) and says they can not identify the problem. Vehicle is unsafe until a fix is found.
Two times in the last two weeks, the vehicle would not go into gear from a stop. Yesterday (7/25/16) it occurred while making a left turn and nearly resulted in a serious accident!.
I just purchased this vehicle a month ago and on numerous occasions the engines revs but it wont drive. Always happens when I'm at a stop or in stop and go traffic. I was almost rear ended because an approaching car didn't see me stopped at the light but I could not go. I tried turning off and on, putting into reverse and nothing. Again the engine revs, sounds like its not in gear. This is a major safety issue that needs addressed. Someone is going to get killed. The problem resolves itself usually after a few minutes but it leaves you stuck in traffic. The drive train, transmission, etc must be defective! I have 3600 miles on the car. I took it to the dealer and they could replicate the problem (of course!). Very little power and lets you get to about 20 miles per hour - very dangerous! I've read online about numerous other people that have the same issue - please help!.
Vehicle will not shift into gear from stationary position. Has occurred periodically (at least 25 times) since odometer read 1800 miles (current milage is 8000 miles). . It has occurred while stopped in traffic and took at least 5 minutes to go into gear. It has also failed to shift into gear while starting from a stop in traffic and leaves car powerless for forward motion with moving traffic all around. Have had it to dealer at least 3 times reporting shifting/ transmission problem. Transmission reprogrammed once but issue started again after about 500 miles. Dealer can find nothing wrong with the car.
We recently purchased this vehicle. After driving this vehicle two weeks, we experienced several instances in which the dct transmission failed. While attempting to cross four lanes of traffic, vehicle stalled while attempting to enter traffic flow. In another case, the vehicle failed to respond when it was put into reverse. Several other occasions the transmission slipped and failed to change gears. This car is very unsafe and we have no confidence in Hyundai. This vehicle was returned to the dealership and at that time they found no problem. The car is currently is in their care, awaiting further consultation from Hyundai corporate. However, we were told there is no current fix for the problem. We are currently dismayed and may be seeking legal advice. .
I was sitting at a red light, behind a couple of other cars, waiting to make a left turn. When the light turned green, I eased up on the brake and allowed the car to pull forward slowly. When it was my turn to make a left, I gently put my foot on the accelerator. The rpms rose but the car did not engage in a gear and thus didn't pull forward beyond a slow roll. I tried stepping on the gas harder and allowed the rpms to get up to about 4,000. The car still do not engage in a gear. I was in "normal" driving mode when this occurred. I tried shifting the stick to manual mode and back, and also putting it sport mode---all while in the middle of the intersection. After several round trips up to 4,000 rpm and back, the car eventually got in gear. I'm not exactly sure which, if any of my actions, corrected the issue. Researching online, I see this is a very common problem and it's shocking to me that Hyundai hasn't publicly acknowledged this or issued a recall. An online Tucson forum entitled "dangerous horrible dct" has over 40,000 views and several hundred posts regarding this matter. . Read more...
Motion on highway, transmission just slows car down causing cars in rear almost hitting my car. Sometimes when going from stop, transmission does not go in car in gear and just revs. While going from stop sign car starts to go then slows down by itself. This is a new double clutch transmission that does not work. Had it in the dealer 3 times. They put in a new clutch motor and it worked well for 2 weeks. Now it is bad again one day somebody is going to get killed.
I have a 2016 tuscon turbo limited which I purchased in August of 2015. I have had these issues since I owned the vehicle. The SUV dual transmission does not go in gear when you do a rolling stop (under 4-0 mpr) or full stop. Two things happen when you accelerate, not pumping the gas pedal as Hyundai states, either the SUV rpm shoot up to over 3k rpm's and it does not go into gear or you hear a loud metal grinding sound while the SUV coast forwards. Since this happen intermittently it is a serious safety problem. This happen is a city environment. I have had these issues since I purchased the SUV in August 2015. My Hyundai has the 2 software and 1 recall updates upto December 2016.
