The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle would shuddered, shook, and vibrated while attempting to accelerate. The instrument panel showed that the transmission had overheated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer carson city Hyundai located at 3659 s carson st, carson city, nv 89701 who diagnosed that the dual clutch assembly was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The contact indicated that the dual clutch assembly was previously replaced under NHTSA campaign number: 16v628000 (power train) however, the failure occurred. The failure mileage was 102,000.
Recently bought 2016 Hyundai Tucson limited and the car has 29,000 miles on it. When in traffic and remove my foot from the brake the car with shake as it is about to stall out and then finally kick in and start moving forward normally. I've tried to pull out into traffic and had the car stall for a second before going forward. I don't feel safe pulling out unless I have enough time for the other car to stop just in case the car does stall out. I was told by the deal that the good news is the car is supposed to act like this. Dealers seem to know about this issue but since the computer doesn't throw up a flag they don't do anything about it.
When in driving mode car is shaking, very often car would stopped while driving. When I am driving 15 mph and want to accelerate or when I press accelerate pedal car wouldn't react. Reaction is late 3,4 seconds until car starts moving. I have had this problem since the first day we bought the car. . Our dealer Hyundai grosinger didn't want to check if everything was ok with the transmission or engine.
When accelerating from a stop, the vehicle is not responsive yet the rpms increase then making it jump and shudder, it is very difficult to control your speed when accelerating from a stop. Additionally, while at slow speeds, the vehicle shudders and bucks. This occurs in any situation where the vehicle is stopped; at stop signs, stoplights, stop and go traffic, while turning, etc. . I have had this 2016 vehicle for one week and the did check safety recalls for the VIN. There were no unresolved recalls for this vehicle. However, I see that a recall concerning this issue was issued for my same year, make, and model. After doing some research, I have found hundreds of similar reports.
When slowing down the car shakes when I step on break and it shakes when I step on go during driving.
When pulling out onto a road from a stop sign, my car will barely accelerate, and the rpms will race for a few seconds before the car suddenly lurches into gear and finally moves. This has caused several near accidents (thankfully, no accidents yet). This doesn't happen every time, but enough to be very dangerous, especially with new drivers in my house. I talked to the Hyundai service center, and they acted like they had never heard of such thing -- even though there are complaints all over the internet. They said to bring it in and they could try to duplicate it, but in the absence of a "check engine" light, they doubted they would find anything wrong. Also, when creeping along in traffic, the car shudders like it wants to stall. In either scenario, it's embarrassing to have passengers in the car. I can't wait to get rid of this car.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. On several occasions, while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle hesitated. Additionally, while driving at low speeds, the vehicle shuddered uncontrollably. The vehicle was taken to keyes mission hills Hyundai (located at 10240 sepulveda blvd, mission hills, CA 91345, (818) 924-4654) where it was diagnosed that the fuel and/or dual clutch transmission caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v628000 (power train, electrical system). The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 24,500.
In November 2017 I purchased a 2016 Hyundai tuscon. Apparently, the vehicle has a "dual clutch transmission" dct. Recently while backing out of my driveway and then putting the car in drive and pushing the accelerator the vehicle lunged jerking myself and my daughter. This is not the first time this has occurred. In addition while in traffic the vehicle will begin to shudder until near stall. This is both scary and alarming. The shuddering occurs when either rolling forward, accelerating the gas, or sitting idle. This has become a serious concern as my car just does not respond to the acceleration at all at times. This is becoming increasing scary and unstable in my opinion. I have been to the dealership twice now and get no real answers except that the car checks out fine and they cannot duplicate the issue. I have searched for recalls on this issue and found on "car complaints" there is a recall on this year, make and model yet Hyundai has no information on this. I will be calling the manufacturer to complain. I am sick to my stomach about this. Purchased this car for stability and security on the road and now I am stuck with it. Sellers should have to disclose the dual clutch transmission to buyers. Period!.
Due to the dual clutch transmission, my vehicle shakes and stalls when trying to push on the gas and accelerate. The engine loses power and I'm stepping on the accelerator while my whole vehicle shakes and maybe goes forward about two feet over 20 seconds before it will actually start moving like it should, often times leaving me in an unsafe position if this happens while making a left hand turn and gaging when I can safely proceed through oncoming traffic.
Vehicle fails to move when the accelerator pedal is pushed, causing serious safety concerns when entering traffic. Transmission at low speed causes the whole car to shake horribly.
The car has had several issues since I got it brand new off the lot, however the biggest issues is with the transmission. I currently have 35k miles on the car and the issues are coming more frequent. The biggest issue is the hesitate and lurch problem. You can be on an incline or just trying to go across an intersection when it happens. You press the gas, the car hesitates as the gears change and you slowly roll out into the street, then the car lurches you forward. I came within a few inches of hitting the bumber of another car after I was lurched forward. There seems to be no reason or pattern behind this. It just happens randomly. The whole car shakes as this happens, so bad that even passengers can feel it.
Brand new 2016 Hyundai Tucson limited awd experienced problems at 350 mile odometer reading with dual clutch transmission causing ¿false neutral¿ with inability to accelerate from a stop while in ¿drive¿ and hesitation, and shuddering when in first and second gear. In random occasions, attempting to accelerate from a stop results in the vehicle rpms increasing with no movement of the vehicle. The dealership applied a software fix for the dtc based on a safety recall which resolved the ¿false neutral¿ issue. However, unpredictable hesitation and shuddering still persist at 3,000 miles. Vehicle acceleration behaves unreliably and can best be described as indicative of a 16 year old learning to drive a manual transmission for the first time. Sometimes the vehicle accelerates smoothly with no issue. Other times the vehicle hesitates and shudders as if the vehicle were attempting to start in 2nd gear with a manual transmission and the vehicle wants to stall, and then slowly accelerates. Still other times the vehicle hesitates with no movement when the accelerator is depressed and then jumps forward as if ¿popping the clutch¿ and then accelerates very aggressively. I took the vehicle to the dealership today (sept 22, 2016) and they were able to reproduce the behavior and informed me that is the ¿normal operating characteristics of a dual clutch transmission. ¿ the problem with this transmission is the lack of confidence when needing to pull out in front of traffic. At all times you must give yourself a minimum of 2 seconds distance before pulling out into traffic because you simply do not know if the transmission will reliably engage and the vehicle will predictably accelerate. I should note that once the vehicle is past 10-15 mph, it accelerates and performs reliably and the transmission is responsive.
Dct transmission hesitates off the line on normal acceleration; every time you take off from a dead stop. Very irritating, never sure of a quick smooth acceleration. If you roll to almost a stop then accelerate briskly, clutches will hesitate before engaging several seconds, then grab causing the car to lunge. Several times a month - I bought the car new, now has 10k miles. When sitting still at red light, then accelerate slowly nothing happens -this is like you are in neutral. I have to physically knock the gear shift in low then back to drive, etc. , to finally get the clutches to engage. -I have had to get out of the car and wave people around several times. Dealer said normal for dct nothing now can be done but Hyundai is trying to come up with a soft-ware fix. They have done one already but no fix and car vibrates-consumer reports talks about this on line.
Problem with dct transmission. On multiple occasions the car has difficulties accelerating from a complete stop. The issue is intermittent. When the problem occurs and you push the gas pedal after a complete stop the vehicle vibrates and jerks back and forth but does not fully accelerate. Also, sometimes it fails to move at all even though the rpms go up to 4000-5000 range. This is a big safety concern if you are trying to cross through traffic and the car does not move.
My Hyundai Tucson transmission does not shift in a logical and predictable manner, occasionally not responding when I need acceleration such as pulling into traffic at a junction. My wife nearly had a collision when the transmission did not respond correctly when needed. Additionally the clutch judders and shakes the whole vehicle when moving slowly in traffic and when pulling away from a stop. If you have read any of the 300 or more complaints in this section you will know that there is a serious design problem with the transmission in this car and it is not fixed regardless of the recalls or bulletins to date. Most likely Hyundai are not reporting their complaint levels to you as they should which keeps the wolves from the door, but it doesn't take much time reading all these complaints to understand there is a serious problem that is unresolved. The transmission is electronically controlled and the software engineers just cannot possibly predict all given driver or driving conditions. Consequently on almost every trip in this car there is a late shift, early shift or hesitation that will occur, something that is not what I expect of it. I have a short uphill driveway to my garage, and every time I park on the driveway I'm not sure if I'm going to hit the garage door or not. I have just no confidence in its control-ability at all. The recall didn't fix anything no matter what Hyundai tells you and now 3 years into the model its still the same. You cannot turn a blind eye to this and hope it goes away. Hyundai in the meantime has abandoned this transmission for '19 on the Tucson and they want the problem to disappear, but this is their way of dealing with it. Problem was originally reported to Hyundai in April 2016 - about 6 months after purchase.
Brought brand new August 2015. Many times the car lurches into gear. Several dct transmission hesitates noticeable when accelerating from dead stop. Car has 16,000 miles (but started around 1000 miles), . Dct clutches periodically when at a dead stop will not engage, but once rpm's drop it will start to move, but prior it's like the car is in neutral. You have to wait until the rpm's come down and push accelerator again and then it will engage. Of course the dealer can not duplicate, so they say there is nothing wrong. . Many times I was almost hit when turning due to the car not moving. . Very dangerous and someone is going to get hurt or die!!! will Hyundai do something then, because its seems that after 167 complaints they still don't care to do a thing about it!! shame on you! since about 12,000 miles the car has been making a hissing type noise when accelerating, brought to dealer, they said its normal & that its the fuel pump finally being broke into the engine and that is very normal. . They also lied on my work order that they compared that noise to a like vehicle with the same amount of miles and it did the same thing, however they told me on the phone that they would find me the same car with the same miles to show me its normal. Well that didn't happen, so they lied on the work order to cover their butts and to work against me when I contact lemon law attorneys. Who the heck are they kidding?!! brought to another mechanic & he said that is not the problem at all, but can't seem to figure out what it is. . So im spending money to have them try & diagnosis it even tho I have a warranty. Tires (I think) causing the car to shimmy shake all the time at high speeds. They have been rotated & balanced 5 times & the passenger seat shakes like crazy, but again that is all normal they say. Shame on Hyundai for doing nothing about all these complaints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
