Airbag indicator icon stayed lit rather than going out after a few seconds when car was started. Problem identified by dealership as air bag needs to be replaced. The dealership will have had my car more than 2 months because there are no airbag mechanisms in the us and we are waiting for more to be produced. The likely reason for this delay is that more have been used than planned, and this should be a recall issue if so many needed replacement.

Air bag light is on. Took to the dealer, webb Hyundai in highland, indiana. They said $502 to fix it. It's a safety issue. Later, they said since I'm a loyal customer (bought 5 Hyundai's) they'd fix it for $177. It's a safety issue! my wife drove the car home. Invoice says "customer declined repair at this time. Vehicle is unsafe to drive. " she's crying. Extended warranty expires in 2 days. Car has 97000 miles on it. Hyundai has lost my business and I will let others know about their treatment of customers. I don't have a fax machine to send copies of the receipts.

2007 Hyundai Tucson. Consumer writes in regards to air bag wire harness problems. The consumer stated when the air bag illuminated, the problem was diagnosed as a bad passenger seat belt tensioner. The seat belt tensioner was replaced. However, the repair shop was unable to clear the fault indication. At their suggestion, the consumer to the vehicle to the dealer as they would have the equipment to clear the fault code. The dealer found a broken wire on the wire harness connecting to the seat belt tensioner. The consumer was quoted a price of $ 2729. 57 to replace the harness. The consumer repaired the broken wire and reconnected the wire harness himself, and the air bag light went out.

The red airbag light on dash turns on and off randomly while driving. This is the red airbag light. . . Not the passenger airbag light. We have had it "fixed" 3 times at the dealer, and it continues to happen. We have had the drivers seat airbag sensor replaced, passenger seat cushion assy-fr seat replaced, and codes reset. Specifically gds code b1490 and pods reset. The codes were reset March 14, 2014 and on March 22, 2014 the red airbag light began turning on and off again. We know Hyundai has had airbag problems in the past. That is why we are reporting this complaint. Hopefully this is just a single incident, not a giant airbag problem again!.

Air bag light illuminated, cause is front passenger seat weight sensor, this means the entire seat must be replaced, I don't feel that with the mileage as low as it is, I should pay for this repair, why hasn't the government agency (NHTSA) issued a recall on this very common occurrence? my mechanic told me he has replaced many (over 100). At great expense to the owners. Defective saftey parts for a car like this, out of warranty because of age, not mileage, should be on the manufacturer.

Back in early 2013 my air bag light came on. This really stressed me out - found money to borrow. I took it in and asked if there was a recall and they told me it had expired. I paid $1700 to have that fixed. I see recalls don't expire - do I have a case against them to get my money back? also, now my esc light is starting to come on again. Some times 5 mins or so after starting the car and sometime upon turning on the headlights. I am so sick and tired of all these electrical problems on a vehicle that only has 55,000 miles on it. It is not cheap to fix regardless of the cars age, there is little miles on it. Do I have any recourse with these issues?
