Takata inflators my air bag light has been on for many months. We do not have the resources to take it in to be looked at. I received a card in the mail this morning indicating that my vehicle may be subject to the recall however, according to the VIN it doesn't seem so. Although it is a 2005, the vehicle is still in great running condition. Please advise what I can do to have this checked.

2 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 12/14/2011

The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that after having the vehicle serviced under NHTSA campaign I. D. Number 06v445000 ( air bags:frontal:driver side inflator module) the air bag warning light continued to illuminated. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer for a diagnostic test and the dealer advised that the seat belt caused the air bag light to illuminate and the seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 62,000. Updated 07/02/12 the consumer stated after the recall was supposedly fixed, the air bag light illuminated again. Updated 07/05/12.

Failure Date: 07/28/2009

The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle was included in the recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 06v445000 (air bags:frontal:driver side inflator module) and was repaired. After the repair, the air bag warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the technician stated that the two front passenger side impact sensors would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Four months after she purchased the vehicle, she received a recall notice in the mail regarding the air bag inflator module. The recall was performed at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased. Since the accident, the consumer questioned whether the air bag inflator module was replaced with an equally defective part or was it replaced at all.
