The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was caused by excessive force upon braking. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000. Purchased a brand new 2022 Tucson. Within 2 months it went to the dealer with about 7 dash fault lights turning on (abs, air bag, lane assist, check engine, just to name a few) and breaks engage on their own. Stayed at the dealership for over 2 months while they had the Hyundai engineers try to figure out the issue. They gave it back to me and said it was a connector in the rear door. The vehicle has been back 4 times for the same exact issues for months at a time and they keep experimenting and giving it back to me. I tried to get it exchanged for a safer one and they denied my request. I guess my families safety isn't that important to Hyundai after all.

Since mid to late December 2021 the airbag light has come on roughly 4 to 6 or more times. The last time currently was 05/07/2022 after having had the "code cleared and a reset" done at the dealership of purchase. This reset took place at 10:27 am and the light came on again at 1:57 pm. The cost to me was $175. 00. I feel this poses a safety concern though I was told "most likely the airbag would fail to go off".

Since the year make and model are listed under the "recall" section of the NHTSA website, specifically for an airbag issue, I am requesting information regarding what nest-steps I nay take to have this problem repaired by Hyundai without any cost to me.

Major electrical components associated with the vehicle malfunctioned including speedomoter, tachometer, deactivation of airbags and inability to indicate which gear the vehicle was in. Situation was remedied with the replacement of a secondary vacuum pump. Water entry into the pump is cause of issue to major electronic components.

In October of 2020 I was pulling into a parking space and my car accelerated and crashed into a light pole resulting in injury to both my husband and myself. He is 91 years old and shattered his upper arm. We had the vehicle fixed and checked out and was told all was fine. About June of 2021 I took the car in for a recall on the brake lights to the Hyundai dealership and told them of the first incident and asked them to check and was told that all was fine. On December 23rd 2021, the same thing happened when I was pulling into my parking space at home. When it accelerated, I had both feet on the brake and ended up hitting a wall damaging the car again. Fortunately, this time injuries were minor. There were no warning lights, messages or symptoms before these two incidents happened. I am concerned that others will be put at risk if this happens again or to anyone else with one of these vehicles. I might add that with these accidents, the airbags did not deploy. The first was a significant crash which should have deployed the airbags.

Thankfully we are alive. We were going at speed and he attempted to pass me on the median, grass and rumble strips. He was inches away from my rear bumper, riding me. When I put the turn signal to move away from him he hit my driver’s side rear panel (side swiped), thank god it didn't turn into a pit maneuver and killed us. He then proceeded to take off. So one thing I have to say is, the vehicle has great pick up. I called 911 and went after him to get his lic plate. When I got to be about 10 car lengths or so, he slammed his brakes. Since I was on the left lane, I could not keep going left and risk going into oncoming traffic. Plus, there was a car on the right lane I slammed the brakes and rear ended him on his right rear. He had a 2021 Toyota tacoma pick up and our hood flipped up and shattered the windshield. The hood stayed up and I was driving blind. All I did was keeping straight, not knowing where I was going and didn’t hit a vehicle, tree, embankment or sign. I went there yesterday and I have no idea how I we didn’t die. I’m so shaken up by it. When we came to a stop, there was a hole about 6 feet from my front tire. We were the victim of road rage and this person caused the accident purposely. He admitted it to the police. He said to the cop, I was slowing down traffic. I suspect with the size of his vehicle and being so close to my rear bumper, he did not see my turn signal. My major concern is the airbags did not deploy and the hood flipped open blocking my view. I was in a forum and this happened to the same model owned by someone else. I suspect this is a design flaw.

Passenger front airbag is faulty. Dealer stated that there is no obvious reason why it would be damaged. There was a similar recall on these passenger airbags for a previous model.

The contact stated that all the air bags deploy except the driver side curtain air bag. The driver sustained broken sternum, broken ribs broken legs and head trauma. First the back brake light on the driver's side went out and I tried several bulbs put in but they didn't work. Next the driverd door would not open from thr outside after thr unlock button was pushed. Then the airbags went out. Last week my engine went out while I was driving.

I purchased my vehicle from san francisco, I live in san francisco and only drive in san francisco, however, there's no dealerships that can service my car in san francisco. I'm being asked to drive over 30 miles away across the bridge and I have a phobia of driving across bridges. I will not ask anyone to drive my car. My complaint is that I contacted Hyundai and asked what they will do to get my car serviced, and my call is being escalated to another person and I'll receive a call within 3-5 days. In the meantime, I have to hope that my car doesn't cause an accident and if I do get into an accident, will my airbag work? they should have said they will send over a tow truck to pick up my car, and deliver it back to me. That wasn't done of course, because I'm not buying a new car. It is not my fault they don't have a dealership where I purchased my car any longer. What is the manufacture responsible for in making this happen?.

Hello everyone, 2018 Hyundai tuscon problem: engine/air bag cause: unknown * after a collision with 2 large deer on a main highway early morning, immediately brought it to a shop. The body work was finished and I had the car back, unfortunately after that my engine was very very sluggish. Irregular shifting, slight ticking in engine block, no later I had issues with battery light coming on ( the car shut off) while I'm motion on main road. Needless to say the dealership says that it's a total loss, this 2 year old vehicle with less than 50,000 miles had a blown engine due to unknown causes. I need some explaining from someone why this happened to multiple owners.

My light inside of vehicle comes on and stay for a while, then goes off, then about a month later do the same. I went to a dealer, he said to fix it would be a certain amont, but I told him not to fix it cause I didn' have the money, so he charged me about $130. 00 for checking it.

Recall for my airbag was not done. Brake lights don't work, electrical problems.

There has not been an incident but the air bag warning lamp has been on since I bought the vehicle. I took the vehicle to the Hyundai authorized dealers so they could check it and they said they found nothing wrong but they cannot get the warning light removed. I am afraid that if I get in an accident the air bags will fail.

"takata recall" on April 8th approximately 6 o'clock in the morning I was awaken out of my sleep to my car on fire in my yard. I called the firefighter department they came out and said it was from bad electrical wires. My car was in my front yard. . . I last drove it that night to pizza hut.

My airbag strap came undone they said it was to tight. Had to be done when the car was produced. I have no airbag at this time. Happy Hyundai wants me to pay to have it fixed. But its a car defect. I was parking in a parking garage and had to make a right turn into a space with cars on both sides. When I normally park, my foot is over the brake and I tap the brake as I go in. In this case, as soon as I began turning right, my car took off like a shot. It felt like a car being floored. I barely missed one of the cars and slammed into a concrete wall, making a 4 x 6 hole in the wall and setting off the air bag in the steering wheel. The car was smoking and I immediately shut it off so there would be no fire.

Started in Dec 2015 had problem starting car. All the lights came on then died. Finally started took it to the mechanic for a diagnostic test no problem was found. After a week same problem occurred, I was told to press on the gas for a while. Worked, however three months later, try to start car all lights came on then died. If the manufacturer is aware of a problem inform the customers. Obviously there is a problem. Help us identify and solve the problem. Could you imagine getting ready to go to work but the car you drove yesterday would not start? what is happening? its frustrating not knowing what is wrong. Will my car start today? in addition the light comes on about the passenger airbag is off.

Takata recall accident with another vehicle when my car was in motion on city street.

While driving the car at 5 mph for no reason the side and curtain airbags exploded!.

On 6/14 while driving on the expressway the airbags in my car deployed there wasnt any damage to my car. Took it in to carmax was told it detected a crash but no damage they couldnt believe it. Elgin Hyundai looked at it and explained it had impact damage but they couldnt find anything wrong.
