For the second time in a year, I was pulling into a parking space and when I applied the brake, the car accelerated, seemed to be airborne and lurched forward. Though I firmly had my foot on the break, it would not stop until it hit a brick post about three feet away. This exact same scenario happened in July of last year. Then, I hit a stand of shrubs. Someone said, your foot must have slipped off the break and hit the accelerator. I said, “I don’t think so. ” yet, I took the blame for the accident, for I could not believe it was a car malfunction, nothing close to this had happened to me since I owned the car. Everything was the same in the last crash as in the first. This time, as soon as the car accelerated, I checked, and my foot was firmly on the break. There is definitely a malfunction in the car. The black. Box should be recovered and read by someone not associated with Hyundai. I checked on Hyundai Tucson owners’ group on facebook, and my incident has been reported by others.

I purchased a new 2025 Tucson limited hybrid model. I owned it for five days when the dash display went blank, leaving me without any speedometer, warning indicators, or safety features, such as lane departure warnings. There is a manufacturers bulletin on this defect. Took it back to the dealer, and they tried to sort it out. They kept the car for a week and indicated that it was fixed. I picked up the car, and in 2 blocks it did the same thing. Car is now back at the dealer. I believe this is a significant safety concern, as all safety features should be visible, especially the speedometer.

Component or system that failed: after a routine oil change at rick case Hyundai of roswell on Saturday, \[insert date], my 2022 Hyundai Tucson began shaking significantly. The dealership later informed me the issue was related to a **malfunction in the fuel injector system**. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: the shaking occurred immediately upon driving away from the dealership and worsened rapidly. I was concerned about losing control of the vehicle orengine stalling while driving, which could pose a danger to myself, passengers, and others on the road. I returned the vehicle immediately to avoid further risk. Reproduced or confirmed by dealer or service center: yes, the problem was confirmed by the dealership (rick case Hyundai of roswell). They diagnosed the issue as being related to fuel injector failure. I am waiting on a written report and confirmation of warranty coverage. Inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance, or others: at this point, the issue has been inspected and diagnosed by the Hyundai dealership. It has not been inspected by police, insurance, or any other outside parties. Warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before failure: warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before failure: yes, the check engine light turned on shortly after I noticed the vehicle shaking. The symptoms began **immediately after the oil change**, and the engine light appeared as the shaking worsened. There were no prior warning signs before this incident. This suggests a sudden failure, possibly related to the fuel injection system*, as diagnosed by the dealership.

While driving, my entire dash will go black. At times, all warning lights will also light up. There is no way to know how fast I am going since the display shuts down. Heads up display also goes out with warnings as well. With all warning lights coming on, there is no way to know if there is truly an issue with the car. The car was taken to the dealership and the cluster was replaced. This did not fix the problem. The car is now back at a dealership with no answers. I do have a case opened with Hyundai as well. Case # 41048985. I am a part of a facebook group were an additional 19 people have also said they have experienced the same issues. There seems to be no real concern from Hyundai. Safety risk - speed visibility, warning lights, overall safe operation problem as been confirmed by the dealership no issues with the vehicle prior to this.
My catalytic converter caught on fire a couple months back then I hit a code for the knock sensor replaced it and it started to act up again I can’t go over 49 burning oil took it to Hyundai now they are saying my engine is going out and I’m still panting carmart got the car.

The driver attention warning is a dangerous feature that can't be turned off. It is constantly going off requiring that I take my eyes off the road to see why it chimed. I am a disabled veteran with an eye condition that requires me to wear very dark glasses in bright sunlight. The car is not drivable with my glasses on as the camera can't see my eyes. I was almost involved in a serious accident on i459. As I drove between an 18 wheeler and another SUV a red light on the dash and a message flashed that stated "regain control of the car". The system slammed on the brakes which caused the car behind me to almost hit me at 70mph. This occurred in heavy traffic at approximately 8:30 am. I almost lost control of my SUV.
Sole owner of 2017 Hyundai Tucson with approx 55,700k miles. Check engine light on and car not accelerating properly. Had same acceleration problem a year ago without engine light, Hyundai dealership stated I needed software update on anti judder gds, update was completed by Hyundai and the issue has reoccurred.

2023 Hyundai Tucson with just over 14,000 miles failed to accelerate. After completing a right turn the vehicle seemed like it went into neutral. A green warning light appeared stating limit 20 mph. I now know this is “limp mode”. Turning the vehicle off and back on seemed to resolve the issue. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. They found nothing wrong. I was told to take a picture of the warning next time. I was fortunate to not have caused an accident. This is incredibly dangerous.
1. Sometimes vehicle does not start. Only starts if battery reset button pushed. 2. Sometimes vehicle while moving has delayed braking after juddering. Only stops when car stopped and restarted. 3. Sometimes vehicle while moving suddenly revs, rpms spike until car stopped and restarted. Engine revs but does not shoot forward. 4. Spookiest of all, while moving car suddenly stops accelerating. Pedal on the floor and it is coasting to a stop. When car stopped, and turned off, then it will work. Had we been on the interstate we would have died, these incidents were sporadic and occurred on and off during the month of April and may. Each of the above occurred numerous times to different drivers. Service at two locations were unable to id. We sold the moving death trap to one of the Hyundai dealers who could find no mechanical problems with the vehicle. The vehicle was terrifying to drive. There are other reports on this vehicle of these issues . . . Which appear to be electronic. Hyundai has good engineers. They know what is causing this and simply do not want to replace a very expensive but obviously failing electronic control module.
My car has been burning oil for over a year. There is no leak. I have been putting three quarts in every 4 to 6 weeks. I have now replaced two coil packs and the spark plugs. My engine light is on because it said 3 and 4 was misfiring so I recently replaced those coil packs and now it said spark plug and I replaced it again as well. So the engine light coming on and what it says the problem is is wrong. Now when I push the gas it is knocking or missing. Not sure how to describe it. No one has looked at it other than a friend that is a mechanic and he says its probably the engine because this kind of car has these problems.
The vehicle was brought in just after a month of owning it due to it was accelerating slow and driving bad salesmans sent it to Hyundai dealership for diagnosis and it came back that the motor needed to be replaced due to recall vehicle was in repair shop for over 3 months to get a new motor once returned the very next day the check engine light came back on so I brung it back to the Hyundai dealership per hub city's salesmans instruction to have vehicle diagnosis again. Hyundai advised that the vehicle needed a catalyst converter among other codes detected on vehicle.

-auto start/stop "feature" since there is no way to permanently disable this feature I forgot that it was on. While stopped a stop light I was unable to move when the car behind me could not stop due to the wet roads. If the car behind me was unable to swerve in time I would have been rear-ended. By the time the engine started the car behind me was in line with my back seat. No amount of gas saving is worth being immobilized essentially in a emergency situation. - forward collision avoidance is way too sensitive, in the same trip as above a car hit their brakes approximately 6 car lengths in front of me to turn into a parking lot. The car in front of me did slam on their brakes to make the turn. As I took my foot off the gas to slow down the "safety feature" activated, applied my brakes and almost caused the car behind me to rear end me. I was going roughly 45 mph and the car behind me was roughly 2 car lengths behind me when the "safety feature" activated. The sensitivity of this system is way too high and will wind up causing more accidents then it prevents.
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the manual speed limit assist erroneously activated causing the vehicle to suddenly decelerate, and the vehicle failed to exceed 20 mph. The cause of the failure was not yet determined, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

Sudden loss of speed for no reason. Was traveling at 35 mph when vehicle suddenly dropped to 22 mph. Stepped on gas with no response. I know the 22 mph because it showed up on warning illuminator. Car behind me almost hit me because he had no indication (prior warning). Turned off at closest exit, turned vehicle off then on restart things were normal. Took to dealer and they found nothing in computer code or mechanical to explain why this happened. Am an older women afraid what will happen if repeats on highway going 70+ mph. Please made hyundia find and fix.
The driver attention warning continues to go off shutting the cruise control off. This happens continuously and is a safety issue when driving in traffic and the vehicle suddenly decelerates. This causes traffic behind you to almost reared you because the vehicle decelerates so quickly. Hyundai suggests to move seat, not to wear glasses and other options that in themselves are additional safety concerns as seat positioning and glasses are needed for driving. So far my car has had the sensor located on top of the steering column shimmed up, and wiring harness replaced all to no satisfactory conclusion. Hyundai is aware of the issue, but has no solution to the issue. I’ve been in a loaner for almost 2 months while they string me along looking for a solution. Something needs to be done to fix this safety concern.
Hyundai has a service bulletin for their 12v battery but isn’t notifying owners. Today my vehicle stopped working and lost all acceleration on a busy 3 lane street that is 55mph. I was able to limp it to a left turn lane where I had to research the issue and found many others had instances like mine. The battery stops working and subsequently stops the vehicle from accelerating and tells you to ‘stop safely’ with no warning or indication that you’re about to stop moving on a road.
Cannot use any driver assistance features while wearing sunglasses (even the lightest lens). I have macular degenation and this affects my future vision. I either can't wear sunglasses (which my eye doctor says are a must) or cannot use cruise control or driver assistance features with them. This was not disclosed prior to car purchase and Hyundai claims it is to guard against drivers falling asleep. Unlikely in daylight and if cruise control and distance was being used and someone fell asleep it would slow the car down rather than crashing into something full speed. This flaw does affect my safety and that have eye issues. Everyone should wear sunglasses during the day to protect their eyes. Please have Hyundai rectify this!.
There is a sensor on the steering column that turns off the cruise control if it can’t see your eyes. This happens abruptly and slows the car down. It will cause a rear end collision if not taken care of! has been to the dealer 5 times. Is available for more inspection. There is a sensor on the steering column that turns off the cruise control if it can’t see your eyes. This happens abruptly and slows the car down. It will cause a rear end collision if not taken care of! I have more documentation from the dealers but I don’t have room to upload. Yes dealers have reproduce the issue. Manufacture has been notified and had us take to dealers. Warning message on dash but no time to react.

As I was (very slowly) pulling into a parking place at a park near my home and I was braking to come to a full stop, the car suddenly lurched forward, jumped the parking place barrier, and hit a tree. The front end of the car was badly damaged and the airbag opened. I sustained injuries to my left hand and my chest, though nothing was broken. The car was towed to a body shop, where it has been declared not reparable. Photos of the car at the scene are attached. This accident seems to be consistent with reports/recalls of the Hyundai elantra of unintended acceleration when releasing the brake. We did talk to police shortly after the accident but we are unsure if they filed a report.
The Smart cruise control (scc) on my 2025 Hyundai Tucson limited hev cuts off whenever I wear prescription sunglasses. The driver attention warning comes on within seconds when the in-cabin camera mounted on the steering wheel is unable to see my eyes, the scc cuts off, and the vehicle suddenly starts breaking. This puts me and anyone behind me at risk. Both the dealership and Hyundai motor company have been unresponsive or unwilling to fix this widely known issue which is well documented in multiple owners' online chat groups. The dealership told me the manufacturer is responsible for fixing the problem.
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson's adaptive cruise control (acc) system does not operate properly due to either a design flaw or a flawed implementation of the design. Hyundai's integration of forward attention warning (faw) with the acc prohibits the driver from using acc while wearing sunglasses. If one is driving the vehicle with acc engaged and puts on sunglasses, the faw flashes a warning on the dashboard and disengages the acc. In order to engage cruise control the driver must interact with the onboard video display system to switch from acc to "dumb cruise". Obviously the driver's attention is distracted while manipulating the selection of cruise control. The driver is also forced to compromise driving safety because they are forced to choose between wearing sunglasses and being able to use acc. Use of acc enhances safety especially when driving into the sun or in low visibility situations. The incompatibility of acc with sunglasses wear then compromises safety. To make matters worse the faw options screen provides erroneous information. It indicates that the driver can turn off faw, but turning it off does not in fact turn it off. Turning it off stops the faw warnings only until the driver turns on and engages acc at which time acc apparently forces faw back on and active. I took the problem to my local Hyundai dealer who confirmed the problem and indicated they could not repair the problem. Since I am considering a georgia lemon law claim, I asked whether I needed to bring the car back since the lemon law gives the dealer/manufacturer 3 tries to fix the problem. The dealer indicated that would be a waste of time because Hyundai will not support/allow the issue to be corrected. The dealer indicated this is a known issue. An internet search also confirms that Hyundai's faw + acc integration is flawed. Additionally it is not clear whether other enhanced vehicle safety systems such as automatic emergency braking are compromised by the wearing of sunglasses?.
When accelerating, like taking off from a red light or through a turn, my car begins to shake like it’s unable to change gears correctly, and sometimes leads to the car stalling in the middle of the street and intersection putting my in danger of being hit from other drivers. It’s also happened that when I press the gas after being stopped at a light, my car rpm goes up but I don’t move and then the car jolts forward quickly. This has been happening for years and when I take it to Hyundai they tell me “that’s just how the car runs” which seems incredibly unsafe.
All of the lights on the dashboard and check engines light were illuminated. The speedometer would not work and the stick shift would stick in park causing me to have to release the shift lock manually to drive. The failure mileage was 59,450.
Forward radar sensor pass side lower grill/bumper area. 1st told a sensor recall but after 3 hrs and then seeing the vehicle in the shop with the entire front bumper clip removed the sensor was out of its driver side socket and 1 side flopping around which may have caused a small dimple from the inside to pop out on the 6x5 cover that is the entire lower rubber/plastic black bumper/grill. Told the vehicle was hit, yet no visible damage to bumpers or painted surface can be found by their 2 dealerships and their 1 body shop, + 2 mangers, and 1 independent collision shop. 1 manager drove the vehicle 10/11 and stated after "is operating as it should". Warnings have come on again since then refueling at additional 77 mile and then at 92 miles 10/14. Hartford ins has been notified and pending I hope an inspection. Vehicle purchased 1st March 2024, 1st warning at 5336mies currently at 5421 miles. They triggered the service engine light and stated via onboard computer it was an issue with a lower front driver side radiator something that may have been bumped while taking off the front clip, which they chipped and area and left a bit of gap at the fender connection. Other than the small dimple on the plastic from what I believe the sensor had been bouncing against, there is no damage. A safelight windshield company stated there is a notice/recall on the "auto headlight sensor on dash" but they do not cal them, only the optic sensor top center of windshield. But per the manual that top sensor plus lower radar can control the forward crash, cruise setup and auto braking. Need some help since my firm works with all auto/tire mfg and conducts dot tire testing for USA and worldwide independent firms/gov's.
Car would not speed up no matter how hard I pressed accelerator, vehicle wouldn't speed up kept going at slower speed had to have towed to dealership. Don't know what is wrong. I was scared someone would hit me, or my speed would cause an accident. Only after issue started did engine light come on.

It happened again. While traveling at highway speeds behind a slow poke, 2 cars passed me on either side at nearly the same time. This caused the auto braking system to activate, abruptly slowing my car for now reason. Luckily no one was tailgating me at the time. This is the 4th time the car has braked for no good reason on the highway (see previous reports) and the 2nd time when 2 cars passed on either side at the same time. This is clearly a software bug that needs to be fixed!.
While driving n on hwy 75 in dallas, I was traveling at posted speed- 70- in the 2nd of 4 lanes when I was passed on either side by cars 10-15 mph faster than me. They passed almost exactly at the same time. This confused the cars auto breaking feature. The lane ahead was clear for over 100 yrds. My car braked hard and beeped a warning. There was no reason for the car to do this. This is the 3rd time the car has braked on the hwy when it was not necessary. Previously, I assumed road trip bugs on the censor caused the issue, that could not have been the cause this time. This is also a concern because the spyware in the car is sold to insurance companies apparently, as bad driving behavior which may affect my rates.
Attempted to make right turn onto busy road. Tried to accelerate to move with the traffic, when the car would not go any faster then 20mph. Could hear cars braking behind me. Pulled over to the side. Message appeared on speedometer, " limit 20mph" with green speedometer. Shut the car off tried to find problem in the manual. Didnt find anything. Turned car back on, it ran normal. Took it to Hyundai, fort myers, appointment, on 08/28/24. They diagnosed it as : "driver assist speed setting was turned on inside settings. Turned off setting, performed a dtc code scanning with no dtcs in any system. Attached stui photos, performed a 2 mile test drive with no further issues". I can only hope that the problem is solved. I do not recall turning on anything like, and wouldn't know how to, but I guess it is possible. Wanted to notify the NHTSA, in case there are other owners experiencing the same issue. Thank you for concern.
On August 1st I was on the highway at 55 mph when my 2022 Hyundai Tucson decelerated to 20 mph and would not go faster. This occurred on the highway at 5:45 pm. This placed myself and others in danger as I was on the highway in the center lane at the time of the deceleration. After turning the car in, the dealership returned the car with no repairs but stating that I engaged a button that caused a limit to the car's speed. I didn't understand but took their word. I drove it from the dealership to the store and home. The very next morning while taking my grandson to school at 5:15 am the car decelerated from 45 to 20 mph with my grandson inside the car. This placed myself and a family member in danger along with cars around me. Each time I had to drive to the dealership in unsafe conditions. They stated that I was not engaging the brake enough to charge the battery. I do not know of any documentation stating the number of times the brake must be engaged per drive. I have never heard of such engineering that allows a car to only go 20 mph and create a hazard for the occupants unknowingly. The dealership has stated that refuse to fix the problem but I should engage the brakes more often when I drive. The car has spent several months in their care due to continued repairs over the time that I've had it and is currently their because of the engine light being on.
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was hesitating during acceleration. While accelerating, the vehicle failed to exceed 3,000 rpm. Thee contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 25 mph independently while depressing the accelerator pedal. The automatic start button remained illuminated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 8,800.
While slowly pulling into a parking space at a local shopping center, my 2024 Hyundai Tucson limited suddenly accelerated while I still had my foot on the brakes to stop. The acceleration was so sudden and intense that I had to swerve to avoid a head on collision with a car parked in front of me. It took me a few seconds to gain control of the car, as the engine was revving at a high acceleration rate and the brakes were not working as they should. Just as suddenly as it happened, it then stopped and I was able to regain control of the car. Had there been other cars in the parking slots nearby, there would have been no to way to avoid a collision.
When driving this car it is hard to go to higher speed. Acceleration is a huge problem. Coming on to the highway I have to wait until there's no one approaching due to the fact that it takes about 40 seconds to a minute for the car to accelerate once it comes to a stop. When switching lanes it takes 40 to 60 seconds to accelerate as well. That's not safe. God forbid someone was speeding directly behind me I would absolutely be hit. It takes to long to accelerate and get out of the way. I was nearly hit by a semi truck due to this problem. Thank goodness the truck moved to the other lane because the tuscon couldn't! also the car won't allow you to close off the outside air while if the front or rear air function. So if I want to place air on the windshield I have to breathe in the air from the person in front tailpipe. That's crazy. This is the first car I've had that did this. It's disgusting especially living in NY why should I have to breathe in that toxin. Also I can not find the third seat belt for the passengers in the back. The car is suppose to be a five passenger car however only four can safely be seated.

When I need to car to accelerate, sometimes it will, and other times I have to push on the gas pedal all the way to try to accelerate. This is extremely dangerous when pulling out in traffic as I am never sure when the car will be working correctly the car shows no codes that there is something wrong, the mechanics cannot figure out what is causing the lack of acceleration. I can be at a red light and try to accelerate and I would have to push the gas all the way down to even get it going. This is an inter written problem, but very concerning when I am trying to cross traffic as I am never sure what my acceleration is going to be.
Oil consumption is excessive it has caused the engine to have a knocking noise even though routine oil changes have been up to date. Yes available for inspection. This may cause the engine to seize at any given point while in motion. No, I have not been able to take the vehicle to a dealership yet. No, vehicle has not been inspected. No, no check engine/warning light has turned on. Knocking noise began June 28th 2024.
