The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v705000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to dickson city Hyundai (1519 scranton carbondale hwy, scranton, PA 18508, (570) 291-5252) where it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving, the interior and exterior lights started to dim before the vehicle stalled. The contact had the vehicle towed to the same dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the valve cover gasket had leaked and allowed oil to get onto the alternator. The valve cover gasket, alternator, and serpentine belt were replaced. The vehicle was started and began to shake before stalling. The vehicle was towed back the same dealer but not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 66,564. The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. Once the vehicle was started, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing and the idler pulley and belt were replaced. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 14v415000 (engine and engine cooling: engine); however, the parts needed for the repair were unavailable.
