The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v705000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that while driving he detected a burning oil odor. The contact inspected the engine compartment, and saw oil leaking onto the alternator. The vehicle was taken to capital Hyundai montgomery service center (2820 eastern blvd, montgomery, al 36116) and was diagnosed as a valve cover gasket failure, however, the dealer informed the contact that parts were not available for the repair and he will be contacted once parts were available. The dealer also emailed the manufacturer pictures of the oil leak on the alternator and the diagnostic failure. As soon as I turned vehicle on white smoke comes out of exhaust system and smells like burning oil. Drove it for a while and smoke was a bit less but still came out on everytime I made a stop along with the smell.

5 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz

Failure Date: 09/17/2017

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz. While operating the vehicle, the odor of burning oil was present and the check battery sensor indicator illuminated.
