37 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Hyundai Veracruz

Failure Date: 05/24/2013

Received a recall notice that the stop lamp switch is malfunctioning on the Hyundai Veracruz model dated 2008-2009. There is risk of a crash. I tried to make an appointment with the dealer in freehold, NJ and they indicated because my brakes are the adjustable kind that they do not have the parts in stock to repair this recall and have no idea when they will be getting them in. Its on back order. In the meantime, if there is a crash caused by this problem there will be major lawsuits against the Hyundai company for not having the items in stock to repair these vehicles. I suggest this matter gets looked into immediately and gets resolved. There should be no excuse that parts are on back order.

38 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz

Failure Date: 04/26/2013

My esc off light keeps coming on the dashboard causing the car to not shift out of park. There was a recall of the stop lamp switch which was performed in 2009. I read in a newspaper article that there is an update to this recall which will be performed starting in June 2013. Dealer refused to perform the recall work at this time and Hyundai USA states that the recall (campaign 110) is not valid for 2007 vehicles, only 2008-2009. I am very concerned, this is a serious safety issue and Hyundai refuses to repair my vehicle.

This car loses power and the ability to control it via power steering, power brakes, and sometimes completely shuts down when operating under rainy conditions and wet roadways. It has happened five times. I have never been traveling at a high rate of speed, but for a split second codes appear and I have no control of the car. 40 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Hyundai Veracruz

Failure Date: 05/21/2012

Traveling on dry pavement approx. 45 mph. Clear, sunny day @80f when had to stop suddenly. The dashboard light up showing "esc off", "abs" and "brake" lights continuously on after incident. Next morning upon start up the lights still remained along with improper speedometer function. I decided to take it to the dealership where it was diagnosed as "hydrolic module" failure (p/n 589103j950). This resulted in loss of esc function and other possible hazards. Being an integrated part this will effect more than one system of braking. This is not a cheap part and vital.

Failure Date: 12/17/2011

I pulled into a gas station at a low speed; there were four pumps in line. At the first one a car was being fueled so I waned to move to the second pump. When I started to brake the car kept moving forward then I was practically standing on the brake but the car kept moving causing me to hit the stationary car. According to the police report her damage was minor; mine was moderate. The officer stated in the report I was inattentive regardless of me telling him twice about the braking and/or acceleration problem. Hyundai sent an "independent" tech after the car was repaired and they said it was not their problem. I requested that company inspection from the first day of the accident; I was informed it would take 4 to 6 weeks. This is a safety issue; my foot was firmly on the brake that morning.
