Automobile 2005 Hyundai Xg350l. 4 times since purchase 5-28-05 within 1000 miles of driving, car will not go after stopping. This car will rev to almost 4000 rpm in drive for 3-10 seconds then lurch out away from stop. Latest incident on July 6 the car did this whis moving down the road, lost all power but continued to rev to approx 4000rpm then took off with tires squealing. Has been to the dealer each time. They can not duplicate issue so are doing nothing. Hyundai dealer reports no other incidents like this reported. I have been on internet discussions with others saying same problem and they are told the same thing.
Consumer stated when he stepped on the brakes the tachometer climbed. This problem didn't happen all the time, but twice. He almost veered into traffic. The dealership and manufacturer could not duplicate the problem ,there was nothing they could do. The last time this occurred, the consumer picked the vehicle up from the dealership, drove home, then went out, and the vehicle revved up to 2400 rpms. He has documentation of these circumstances. Vehicle 'almost hit a woman who was trying to cross the parking lot.
1) on March 25, 2005 I was pulling into a parking space at my doctors office and when I hit the brake the car engine revved- up and the car accelerated. I went through the parking space onto a grassy area. I do not remember how I got control of the car to stop it. My wife was leaving our development and had to cross a dual highway. When she got to the center strip she hit the brake and the car accelerated. Fortunately there was no traffic in the outer lane. She immediately brought the car home and would not drive the car after that. On April 15, 2005 I was heading south on route 41. When I was about 100 feet from a truck that had stopped at a red light, I started to gradually feather the brakes to slow down. When I was approximately 10 feet from the rear of the truck and almost stopped, I applied the brake to stop but the engine revved-up and the car accelerated into the back of the truck causing a great deal of damage to the front of my car. Although the impact was considerable, the air bags did not deploy and should have. I am now concerned about driving the car if a satisfactory solution to the problems can not be founded for the acceleration problem and non-deployment of the air bags. The car is at the fort myers Hyundai dealer being repaired and investigated.

Contact states when the accelerator is pushed vehicle accelerated excessivley. The only way to remedy this situation when it happens is to put on the brakes. The local service dealer stated they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle.
Contact stated when the vehicle was put into drive and the accelerator pedal was pressed vehicle lurches forward. Sometimes this left rubber marks on the pavement or road. At times when the vehicle was put into reverse it would do this in reverse as well. The vehicle when put into gear will go into the higher gears until the rpms reached 4000. Consumer had logged 600 events, and there have been 54 occasions when this occurred. The service dealer did not know why this happened, but did replace the vehicle with the same make and model of this vehicle, and it did have the same defect. The dealer stated there was no recorded complaints with Hyundai. Consumer has contacted the manufacturer several times, but had no resolution. Consumer no longer had this specific vehicle, but felt this was a safety defect and someone should be made aware of this problem.
When slowing down and braking the car accelerated on its own. The first time I hit the car in front of me . I had to turn the key off to get it to stop. I had bumper damage. Have had the car in 5 times for this same problem. Each time the dealer said they can find nothing wrong. The last time the factory rep checked it and said he could do nothing because it would not do it then. As of 4/20/06 this car has done this 8 times. It is like driving a time bomb.
Vehicle would accelerate without warning while consumer would apply brakes to either slow down or stop vehicle. Pulled vehicle over. Had vehicle towed to dealership. Mechanic could not determine cause of acceleration. Consumer was told they over filled gas tank. Left blinker hesitates or at times does not blink at all.
My inlaws' car accelerated on its own causing an accident.

Xg350l-vehicle will lunge forward from a total stop when accelarated or when driving at highway speed, dealer has attemted to fix problem 3 times but it continues still. Upon cold start up vehicle vibrates roughly, rough and hard shifts occur while driving and down shifting. The paint burr on the passengers door went to the metal when broken off/district service and parts man had to look at all these problems because of warranty and the fact that the door could rust. None of the problems have been taken care of .
