The car engine cuts off / stalls while driving. This has happened multiple times. When driving on highway, the engine stops running, the car loses all power, and it is very difficult to restart the car. I had the car inspected and the local mechanic stated the crankshaft sensor/ camshaft censor is not working properly and he believed this was on recall, but Infiniti stated that my car is not covered. This is extremely dangerous - call stalls in the middle of the road with no power at all.
Twice while driving approximately 70 mph on the freeway, the engine shut off without warning and the service engine soon warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle coasted. There was no shoulder to pull over to. I put it in neutral and it restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the camshaft and crank sensor failed. I looked online and saw a recall for the cam shaft and crank sensors for the, 2003 Infiniti G35. However, when I called, I was told that my VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 230,000.
My car was going good for 3 years and out of nowhere it stopped getting gas or throttle like it should and it's been sitting for a week now. . . Ima have to get checked or something but out of nowhere my car would start but not throttle properly and would slip and all my lights would go in my car. .
Tl the contact owns a 2003 Infiniti G35. While operating the vehicle, the check engine indicator remained illuminated and the engine suddenly shut off while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the crank camshaft sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 135,800. The VIN was invalid.
Hello, my 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe is experiencing the exact issue that NHTSA campaign number:03v455000 (Infiniti recall no. R3021) describes for the crank/cam shaft position sensors. My car will literally just die while driving at any given time! my steering wheel locks up, and I have to pull over with a stiff steering wheel to turn my car off & restart it. Sometimes, the car won't start becuase of the same issue. However, my local Infiniti dealer and the Infiniti customer service line have both informed me that they cannot fix this issue becuase my VIN was not listed on that recall. I bought this car around 6-7 years ago, so I would not have even been able to take it in to get fixed since they noted it was only 2003 for a certain time. This just recently started happening a few months ago, and I finally found the exact issue on your website. I verified that my cars computer noted that those specific sensors are bad! I'm very upset with Infiniti not even caring to help one of their customers for a major safety and liability issue! this keeps happening over and over at random, and I'm honestly nervous to drive my car. This could easily pose danger to others or myself if the car does this while driving in the future! please help!.
While driving, the vehicle turned off on 2 occasions. On several occasions, it lost power, and then recovered, but twice, it literally turned completely off. The "slip", "vdc off", and "service engine soon" lights all appeared. I took it to my local Infiniti dealer who said it was subject to a recall for earlier-produced models, and subject to a bulletin which described exactly what had happened. The crank position sensor and bank 1 and 2 of the cam position sensors had to be replaced at a cost of $563. 03, and Infiniti says that without NHTSA telling them to pay for it, they refuse. This car is a 2003, however, it is in mint condition with less than 55,000 original miles on it--always dealer maintained.
Driveing into curve engine died and had no power brakes and difficult to steer on city street.
The car suddenly had a very poor acceleration, like no power and a "service engine soon" lighted up. Also, the circuit board with temperature controls, does not light up. Same the radio . . . ??.
My vehicle's engine cuts off without warning. Infiniti had a recall regarding this yet they say my car isn't on the recall list. It deals with some sensors that cut the engine off without warning. I have the same exact problems as the recall states,.
I got my car in April 2013 not a year yet. I was at work when they said the light started to blink and then the alarm started to go off when the security came by around it was smoking and on fire it was coming from the hood. The police and fire station said they think it was a electric problems. I really don't know what I should do now.
After driving for about 5 minutes the car completely shut off. It was basically a moving parked car!!! the steering wheel locked so it was really hard to pull over. Thank god I was on a local street. I didn’t force the steering too much b/c that could affect the power steering. Once on the side, the car took really long to start up, I mean about 5 seconds from hearing the crank to actual startup. Usually it’s instantaneous. Now, the service engine soon, vdc off, and slip lights were on. I got my car checked out with a scanner/diagnosis and it returned code “p0340 camshaft position sensor. ” I just find it really hard to believe Nissan/Infiniti does not cover such a dangerous problem. I can understand that every car has mechanical/electrical issues but for a car to stop working on the road like that is unacceptable. There was a recall on this issue but according to Nissan/Infiniti my car VIN is not for this campaign so I was rejected. Itb03-072 safety recall campaign 2002 q45, 2003 m45, G35, 2002-2003 i35; voluntary recall campaign engine sensors Infiniti has determined that some 2002-2003 model year Infiniti vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. The engine might stop running while being driven if the crank position sensor or cam position sensor fails. This may also result in the “service engine soon” light coming on or reduced engine power. If the engine stops running while driving, this could result in a crash without warning.
The car simply died after pulling on to a busy highway. It would not start for several minutes. After taking the car to the infinity dealership I was informed that it was a cam shift sensor failure. Not just one, but two sensors. I understand that there was a recall for this model but I cannot get the infinity to comply with this recall and the subsequently charged me $500+ to replace the two fouled parts. Very disappointing.
Pulled into a parking lot when the engine stopped running all of a sudden. The power steering also went out. Everything else including the electrical seemed to still work. Service engine soon, "slip" and "vdc off" lights displayed on the dashboard immediately. This seems to be related to NHTSA campaign id # 03v455000. I called the manufacturer who informed me my VIN was not within the range of this recall. Searching online reveals other owners whose vins are not within the range also have had this issue. It seems to me this recall should be re-investigated and reevaluated as this is a serious danger to the public (imagine this happening on a freeway which has happened to other owners).
Car would stop running (engine would die out) the reason for my complaint is that I went to Infiniti dealer to get them to fix the problem, which they told me it was the "cam position sensor" that was bad, yet didn't tell me and now I find out that there was a recall on this item (itb03-072 safety recall campaign) I had my personal mechanic fix at my expense. Should they have fixed at their expense as part of recall? please help me recuperate my money, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I was driving on the freeway and the car stopped. I had the car towed to a mechanic and he informed me that the cam shaft sensor and crank shaft sensor has gone bad. There was a Nissan recall associated with this defect and they refuse to repair the defect.
2003 Infiniti G35 coupe- loss of engine power while driving followed by "slip" and vrc warning lights coming on. The car just suddenly stopped on the freeway. Good thing it's a manual tranmission and I could coast to the side. I was lucky not to get into an accident . Tests reveal both cam sensors need to be replaced. I have seen numerous reports like this yet no recall is being produced. This is almost as bad as the Toyota accelaration problem.
My 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan experiences intermittent failure of the control panel for operation of the a/c, radio, etc. Because of this electrical problem, the engine throttle is unable to be reset. It idles at 1000 rpm and does not reduce rpms when slowing or stopping the vehicle. This causes a shaking of the vehicle. While this make, model, and year vehicle do appear on a recall list, the VIN number is out of range so the dealer will not repair the vehicle.
Well I bought this car from bellflower auto mart thinking that I bought a pretty dependable car come to find out the previous owner was drinking and driving and totaled the car, so now the car should have a salvage title but it doesnt the airbag system in the car does not work at all, the dealer bought the wrecked car from auction and repaired it themselves and sold it to me as if it was never in any accident, I asked for the carfax report but it unfortunately slipped my mind after all the paper work, but I went the next day to return the car after I found all this out and was kicked off the property.
The cam shaft position sensor went out on my infinity G35 causing a complete loss of power and almost caused a wreck. There is a recall on that year, but when I contacted infinity, they said that my model was not affected by the recall. Apparently that model has the defect. The refused to repair it.
The contact owns a 2003 Infiniti G35. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. All of the warning lights on the instrument panel illuminated. The dealer stated that the cam sensor failed and repairs were made. The current mileage was 76,533 and failure mileage was 45,829. Updated 12/12/2007 updated 12/12/07.
2003 Infiniti G35- temporary loss of engine power while driving (up to 3 seconds) followed by "slip" and vrc warning lights coming on. Power then usually resumes with these lights staying on. Near accident in one event while passing truck. My mechanic indicates both cam sensors need to be replaced. Indicates this a common problem with certain Nissan sentras that had a recall. I contacted Infiniti consumer affairs- they indicated no recall on my model.
My G35 dies randomly I tried to have Nissan in garden city kansas to fix they said they dont work on recalls not safe to drive 3 hours to wichita kansas im not sure what todo.
