The Infiniti dealer acknowledged that there is a design defect and maintained that Infiniti?s position is that the passenger needs to continue to adjust their seating position until the airbag indicator turns off (jump up and down, sit further upright, etc). The light can remain illuminated for as long as 10-15 minutes before finally being able to get the passenger airbag to be operable. This problem is intermittent, but again, Infiniti refuses to work on the car even though it is under warranty. I?m concerned that in the event of an accident, the passenger airbag is not working as intended and may not deploy as indicated by the passenger airbag warning light.
