36 Seats problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 05/28/2009

The driver's side seat in my 2004 G35 sedan is becoming close to useless due to a "rocking chair" type effect. The seat has been doing it ever since I purchased the car. It has become progressively worse with the passing of time. It is now so bad that I feel uncomfortable driving the car any distance. It rocks backwards even when depressing the clutch pedal, never mind under any amount acceleration or cornering for that matter. Infiniti has issued a TSB for the problem which is in my opinion an acknowledgement of shoddy craftsmanship. They will not help to solve this problem. I feel this is a safety concern because any time I accelerate from a stop the seat begins to rock and it is very disorienting . I am very unhappy and I feel unsafe whilst driving this vehicle.

38 Seats problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 02/19/2009

I have 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan. Driver's seat rocked back-and-forth. Took it to Infiniti dealer who stated that the driver's seat frame assembly had separated due to faulty weld joints! dealer stated that the driver's seat frame assembly seat was not covered by any warranty or recall. Dealer also stated that if I didn't pay the $1,100. 00 to have the driver's seat frame assembly replaced and I was in any kind of car accident, the faulty driver's seat frame assembly would cause the seat to become completely detached from the car and cause the seat to be thrown about inside the car. I therefore paid to have the driver's seat frame assembly replaced. However, a couple of days ago I noticed that the rocking is starting again! clearly there is something wrong with the driver's seat frame assemblies that are coming directly from Nissan, which owns Infiniti! in fact, according to NHTSA website, other Nissan cars from 2003, like the 350z are having problems with the seats! clearly this is worthy of some time of investigation or recall since the NHTSA has on file a lot of complaints and service bulletins on this same issue from Nissan cars!.

At first, the rocking was isolated to when acceleration occurred from a complete stop. However, after two weeks the rocking would occur when traveling at highway speeds of about 70 mph. 41 Seats problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/30/2008

The medal bracket was cracked and makes the seat loose and move during driving. This makes the car extreamly dangerous. I have had 3 mechanics look at the seat and they have notified me that it was a failure in the steal bracket used to secure the seat to the frame of the car. I have also taken it to a Infiniti dealership and they said it was wear and tear from the weight of the driver. I am the only driver of this vehicle and I am 6'0 & 176lbs. If this seat was the effect from wear and tear, then this would violate the lemon law act. Next, this same vehicle also has a faulty gas gauge. This gauge does not accurately read the gas after a fill up nor does it ever go all the way to full tank. This was a recall on other model years from this manufacturar and was resolved. I beleive that my model, make and year was over looked for the fuel guage recall.

42 Seats problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

43 Seats problem of the 2006 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 12/05/2007

The driver side seat track on my 2006 infinite G35x has broken on 3 occasions and has rendered the car undriveable without expensive repair. There is a technical service bulletin dated on July 2007 as seats bulletin 02080. This TSB should become a recall because it is extremely dangerous and almost caused me to get into an accident. And is very costly to repair for the consumer. This is a wide spread problem for the make and model of this vehicle and infinite needs to do a recall.

44 Seats problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/02/2006

2003 Infiniti G35 with a recall on the engine. Customer states that the dealer told her that her car was not included in the recall even though the symptoms were the same. Dealer refused to fix it unless she paid 11,000 dollars to fix it. The dealer informed the consumer the engine shut down because the piston broke causing it to hit the engine which put a hole in the engine block. The consumer had a used engine put in the vehicle on July 24, 2006 but, one year later the engine failed. The consumer stated she has had numerous problems with the brakes, the driver's seat made a constant noise, the 6 cd changer malfunctioned and ceased to operate and the window motor was replaced.

45 Seats problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 03/01/2006

The seats are too uncomfortable causing pain on the right leg. I believe the root cause is that the controls are on the right side of the seat putting extra pressure on driver's leg.

46 Seats problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 01/25/2005

(abbreviated communication with Infiniti) [me] I just recently purchased a 2004 G35. As I have driven the vehicle, it has become noticeable that the seat controls in the seat cushion exert pressure on my upper thigh to the point of it being painful if driving for any length of time. I asked the dealer rep. If there had been any complaints on this issue, and he said he had not heard of any, and he said that the 2005 model has the same design. I am surprised that this was not resolved with the new model year as there has got to be other owners with similar complaints. Currently, I drive 15 minutes each way to work, and as I am sitting here typing this, I can feel what feels like a bruise on my thigh from the pressure from sitting next to the controls. I am 6' 0" 185 pounds and would consider myself to be of average build. It would seem that there should be some kind of retrofit kit available to remedy this problem. Please advise. [Infiniti] currently, there is no technical bulletin or kit available in regards to your seat control/cushion concern. We recommend contacting your local Infiniti dealer to review vehicle concerns which may be addressed under warranty. [me] it doesn't appear that a claim against the warranty is a viable option. My purpose in contacting Infiniti is to notify you of the problem hoping that this issue has been or will be addressed by the design team and a solution pursued. This may be something that is correctable for the current model year or a change in subsequent model years; or at the very least you could give directions on how the owners could remedy this problem on their own. This problem is a result of no padding in the seat area where instead there are the seat controls. In my opinion, this is a result of a paradigm shift to a bad idea. Seat cushions are for sitting, not for hard controls.

47 Seats problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 11/28/2003

The driver's seat shifts back and forth on the rails when starting and stopping. As a result, the brake pedal or gas pedal is depressed further than intended. This is most certainly a safety issue. I have contacted Infiniti and been told that Nissan is aware of the problem but does not have an imminent solution. I need this problem repaired on my vehicle immediately!.

48 Seats problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/10/2003

Bought my Infiniti G35 in may of 2002, ever since day one, the driver's seats seems to be moving, rocking during acceleration and braking. . This seems to be a common problem on a lot of G35's. Dealer's and Infiniti has not relesase a fix that works yet after a year. . . I believe that this is a dangerous problem, because twice my foot slipped off of the brake pedal during braking and almost caused an accident. . . . . There also seems to be a problem with life of the brake pads and rotors where they might fail prematurely. . . Most drivers of the g complain that their pads and rotors are needing to be replaced as soon as 8,000 miles and are not covered by the warranty.

49 Seats problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 03/15/2003

Driver's seat rocked while driving. Dealer had no remedy, advised consumer to drive without seat belt, stating this would make the seat rock less.
