Infiniti G35 owners have reported 4 problems related to sun roof (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
As I was driving normally, my sunroof exploded outwards. I was not actuating the sunroof in any way at the time and the interior shade was closed. A large, central portion of the glass was propelled into the air and rained back down on the car. It sounded like a shotgun right next to my ear. I saw glass from the sunroof sliding down the rear window. What remains of the sunroof is an outer ring of glass that is slanted upwards towards the center, like a volcano, proving that the glass exploded outwards. I have a dash cam in my car that recorded exactly what was happening at the time, including audio. The video shows nothing that could have impacted the sunroof and an extremely loud bang as the sunroof exploded on its own.

Sunroof exploded from the inside out of my 2007 Infiniti G35x. Vehicle was moving on highway at 65 mph - nothing hit the vehicle to cause the explosion. This is definitely a manufacturer's defect which could have caused a very serious accident with injuries or death. Car was towed to the dealership where car was purchased. The manufacturer and the dealership will not take responsibility for the defect, nor will they provide data to back up their statement that this is a safe vehicle. No investigation or vehicle inspection was conducted. Sunroof was removed and replaced without my consent. They want to repair the vehicle without any concrete explanation or data of why this occurred?.
I have had multiple issues with my car. The most severe have been a replacement bolt on the axle that made a clicking sound when I put it in reverse. That took place within 2 months of my owning the car. The other has been my brakes. They were making squealing sounds when they were depressed, at 4500 miles. I kept complaining to the dealership and they finally realized that there was an issue with the front brakes. It was fixed at 9,000 miles. The squealing subsided somewhat, but there has always been a sound. I took my car in again recently for routine maintenance and complained that the sound has still not gone away. They said there was dust on the brakes, and that once it was cleaned up, it should be fine. They said my back brakes were now an issue. Mysteriously, after picking up my car, the squealing was worse and was now coming from the back of the car. The service rep said that I need to fix them within the 1500 miles. I was not having any issues with back brakes up until this point. I truly believe that the service tech tampered did something to them. Finally, my sunroof starting giving out and requires a new motor. This all happened within 2 years with barely 14,000 miles!.

When using cruise control and going downhill there is a constant braking feeling that makes the ride feel jerky. Never experienced this on any other vehicle. Spoke with other owners and they have same experience and dea;er advised nothing can be done. Sunroof is very noisy when opened at highway speeds. The flap that pops up when the roof is opened is the culprit. When you hold down with your hand it is much quieter.
