Infiniti G37 owners have reported 64 problems related to air bag light on (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Infiniti G37 based on all problems reported for the G37.
The airbag light on the dashboard has been blinking. I took it to get repaired and the dealer told me I would have to replace the passenger seat. The cost is $7,000. I have not done anything to the seat. So, no airbag will be deployed if I am in an accident. Why has this not been recalled? this should be on the maker of the vehicle and not the consumer.

Takata recall airbag light blinking on the dash. Went to have it checked out and was told it was faulty passenger airbag module. Was not involved in any accident. I can see some airbag recall for other models and seems like mine is not included. Dealer refuse to do anything about it.

Red air bag light began flashing and amber air bag "on/off" light randomly illuminates or doesn't with no passenger present in the passenger seat. Do not know if it is safe for passenger of infant seat to ride in that seat. Very expensive dealer repair. Should be a safety recall issue.
My Infiniti has 100,000 miles on it. Nothing at all happened to cause my problem - no accident, nothing special. It just suddenly, for no apparent reason, now has a flashing indicator that represents a problem with the passenger air bag that will cause it to fail massachusetts state inspection. I took it to the dealership in Infiniti of nashua in nh. I was told that it was a sensor problem, not a problem with the airbags themselves. Alas, the sensor can only be fixed my replacing the entire seat assembly. I was assured that this was very minor in terms of labor (maybe a couple of hours), but that it would require me to purchase an extremely expensive part. The dealership quoted me $10,000 for a car that is now worth about $12,000. When I did not jump at this offer, they contacted me three days later to say that Infiniti USA was offering me a discount and they would replace the sensor (via the whole seat assembly) for $7000. I have since gone to a reputable mechanic who said that the part costs about $6500. So not only was Infiniti of nashua trying to take advantage of me (perhaps because I am a woman), Infiniti USA is trying to get me to pay $6500 for a freaking sensor. My car is going to have to go into the trash heap. I see many other people discussing similar problems. Infiniti should be responsible for either fixing the problem - it is a massive design flaw that puts passenger at risk and makes their vehicles worthless far before their time. I will never buy another Infiniti again and will badmouth them at any opportunity.
The air bag warning indicator illuminated. I installed a new battery. Prior to the installation, there were no issues. After the installation the air bag warning indicator appears after the car starts up and continue blinking.

Airbag light randomly came one. I went into the dealership they said it was a sensor in my passenger seat and that it would cost 5k to replace. I was shocked. That is a manufactured problem and huge safety issue. I shouldn't have to pay for something like that when I already paid over 30k for the car. Not right.

The airbag light came illuminated. The repair shop traced it to a possible faulty sensor or possibly the passenger seat. The sensor must be ordered from Infiniti at a cost of almost $1300. And it might take 10 days to get it. Plus $700 in labor. It might not fix it and it could be the seat which would be $5000. This is half or more of the value of the car. I have noted that this is a common problem with the 2008-2010 infinit's. I was referenced in the Infiniti service bulletin as a known defect but they are not offering any recall or repair compensation. That means that a lot of people are driving around in the older Infiniti's without air bags!!.
Air bag problem indicator light comes on while driving. Dealership diagnosed to be faulty air bag and would need to replace that to begin with. Vehicle maintained regularly and no indications as to why air bag would need to be replaced. Other Infiniti G37 car owners are also complaining about having to replace/fix faulty air bags, so looks like a systemic problem.
Takata recall indicator light on dashboard for airbags is flashing constantly for past 2 months. Ironic that no recall for this particular model on a 2009 Infiniti G37 has not been included, although other models are being recalled.
The contact owns a 2009 Infiniti G37. While attempting to drive the vehicle, the front passenger air bag warning indicator intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Infiniti of memphis in bartlett, TN where it was diagnosed that the air bag seat sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G37. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator flickered and the front passenger seat air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (mossy Nissan kearny mesa 8118 clairemont mesa blvd, san diego, CA 92111 (858) 201-6606) where it was diagnosed that there was a failure in the occupant classification system control unit and it needed to be replaced along with the front passenger seat cushion. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and found NHTSA campaign number: 08v521000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer and dealer confirmed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
The airbag light flashes red on the dash panel indicating the passenger airbag is not on. It also shows on the panel under the air conditioner controls that the passenger air bag is off. This is a safety issue and it is due to a faulty safety restraint system sensor the in the passenger bottom seat. Infiniti has had recalls and issues with this srs system in the passenger seat while they did not recall the 2011 Infiniti G37. My G37 has approximately 23,500 miles and they want over $5,000. 00 to replace the whole seat bottom. This is a defective product and someone needs to be held accountable. To top things off, my dash is melting and I know they had a class action lawsuit in florida with Nissan melting dashboards in 2008. I guess this could also be a safety issue since the dash is sticky and hot and if a child were to touch it they could possibly get burned not to mention the mess. Infiniti consumer affairs said they would not remedy either issue. What a quality product. . . . . . I will never buy another Nissan/Infiniti vehicle and have owned 5.
Passenger airbag light came on (April 5, 2017)while on highway. Had dealer diagnose and the results came out as the sensor has failed. The whole seat needed to be replaced. Costing over 6k usd, sensor cant be replaced by itself is absurd. Extended warranty did not cover it either even with premier care from all state. I tried getting it taken care of because lives are at stake but what can you do if you cant afford to fix it. It costs a seat or a down payment towards a new car. They should issue a recall for this. Ive seen online that im not the only one whose having this issue especially from Nissan/Infiniti.
Takata recall same problem as other have stated airbag light, due to passenger seat sensors. Also melting dashboard, that causes glare to visibility and a safety hazard if the airbags did work. Unfortunately, the airbags have been disabled due to the sensor. Both the dashboard and airbag sensors have been recalled in other Nissan and Infiniti models but not this model. Pretty much all the same parts for the the dash and airbags but this model has been excluded.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti G37. While driving various speeds, the air bag off warning indicator illuminated while the front passenger seat was occupied. The dealer could not duplicate the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger seat sensor malfunctioned and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.
The passenger airbag light is flashing. There was a past recall on this make, model and year for the very same issue. I have been told that my vehicle with less than 50k miles was not on the recall list. This is a safety issue which will be very expensive to repair and should be taken care of by Infiniti as part of their recall. I do not understanding why this same issue does not include my VIN number but was applicable to other same make, model and year cars as mine. Are there any other avenues I can pursue to fight this?.
The airbag light comes on indicating that the passenger airbag is off. This occurs anytime a passenger sits in the front seat, regardless of weight or height.
The contact owns a 2009 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger side air bag sensor failed. The contact took the vehicle to another dealer who confirmed the diagnosis and stated that if one air bag failed, they all would fail. The passenger air bag sensor and seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,017.
Air bag light is blinking and it will not stop. After a visit to the Infiniti dealer here in kansas city they told me the "occupation sensor" is bad and the total cost to repair would be $5488. 67 this is a serious issue with the airbag as now the occupants are not protected and Nissan and the NHTSA need to issue a recall. This is 1 of 1000's of complaints regarding this and the extravagant cost to repair.
Red passenger airbag light began blinking. In August 2015, it was taken to dealer for diagnosis. Passenger side front occupant sensor not working & was reset. It came on once a passenger sat in the seat again. Cost to repair this was stated at $4930. 53. It is a safety issue they should be responsible for! a year later, it is still flashing. I cannot find a recall still. I tried to upload a second file showing the estimate to repair.
On the approx. Date of incident, I started the vehicle in the morning and noticed the air bag light would blink and not turn off. After referencing the manual, I brought the vehicle into an Infiniti dealership to be diagnosed. The diagnosis was that the passenger side airbag sensor had failed and would cost more than $2,700 to replace. I left without replacing the part. I notice this exact item has already been recalled for this exact make/model/year vehicle, but the manufacturer has told me that the recall was not for my specific VIN. This recall should be expanded to include all 2008 Infiniti G37 vehicles.
Pass air bag light came on as it is malfunctioning. It will not go off. Took it to dealer in greenville SC they said that the sensor in the seat is likely the problem but did not know for sure. Cost would be between $1500 and $3000 to replace. I called infinity service nationwide they said there is no recall. I see on this reporting website that this is happening to others and that it also was an issue with the 2008 g35 and that for the 2008 it is a recall issue. This should be a recall for the 2009 G37 also.
While driving with a full size adult in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag light was illuminated, which indicates that the passenger air bag is off. This has continued to occur at various speeds including while idling. The car has been returned to the Infiniti dealer four times. The Infiniti service writer, manager and technician saw the passenger air bag light on. An Infiniti engineer checked the car on 9/10/2014. His report stated that the car is operating according to specification. They see no need to pursue this problem any further while this problem continues, jeopardizing the passenger's safety.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag light was continuously illuminated when a passenger of one hundred pounds or lighter sat in the passenger seat. The dealer stated that the vehicle was working up to specifications. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 700.
This is a frequent event that I just noticed a few months ago. When someone is in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, the airbag light comes on indicating that the passenger airbag is off. This occurs anytime a passenger sits in the front seat, regardless of weight or height. Today I also noticed that Nissan has issued a recall for 1,053,479 vehicles globally for similar issues. However, my vehicle isn't included in this recall however there have been multiple reports of older model g35/g37 vehicles with the exact same issue. I think that my 2009 Infiniti G37 should be included in this recall as well. I'm very concerned about this, because this is a huge safety issue!.
The passenger side airbag light comes, indicating that that airbag is off, on when there is a passenger in the seat. I went to the dealer two times and was told that there is nothing wrong with the functioning of the airbag system. This issue occurs when my wife (who weighs 130 pounds) is sitting in the seat. We were told by the "master technician" that she is too small of a person to bear the force of the airbag and that it was safer for her without the airbag.
