1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2020

Passenger air bag sensor remains illuminated with or with out a passenger in the passenger side seat. Bad sensor with that make model and year. The vehicle has previously been recalled for this exact same issue but the problem persists. Please issue another recall!.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

Passenger air bag sensor remains illuminated with or with out a passenger in the passenger side seat. Bad sensor with that make model and year. The sensor turned on very soon after purchasing this vehicle from drivers mart.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2016

Passenger air bag sensor - indicating off with adult in seat. I searched any recall on the VIN oon "https://vinrcl. Safercar. Gov/VIN/"to see if there are any recall, but 0 recalls.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2014

While driving the car at approximately 30mph, the passenger airbag was disabled by the sensor indicating that the passenger did not weigh enough to activate. The passenger weighs 200lbs. My local dealership has been contacted about the problem. The car has been in for service for this specific problems 4 times since the car was purchased. The airbag sensor has been replaced in the passenger seat and a recall was performed to recalibrate the sensor. Despite these efforts, the problem remains. Infiniti is unable to correct this potentially fatal problem.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

My jx 35 was recalled (14v-138) to fix the occupant classification system. I had the recall "fix" performed on the vehicle. When passengers weighing between 105-125 pounds sit in the frong passenger seat, the light comes on indicating that air bag is turned off. The dealer (fields Infiniti of glencoe, IL) inspected the vehicle and said that it perormed the recall according to Infiniti's/Nissan's specifications and there's nothing further the dealership can do unless the vehicle undergoes another recall. There's clearly a design/engineering flaw in the airbag seat sensor system, as this problem doesn't exist with any of other vehicles I've driven (BMW, Audi, GMC). This is unacceptable because it puts my wife (and other potential front passenger riders)in jeopardy in the event of a head-on collision. Please have Nissan recall this vehicle again to fix the problem once and for all, as others are complaining of the same problem with their post-recalled Infiniti Jx35 and qx60 and Nissan pathfinders.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2013

The front passenger " airbag off " light came on while adult weighing 140 lbs. Was sitting in front passenger seat & stayed on while car was being driven. This incident has happened at least 15 times. I have over 8 video documents of the occurrence & have taken the car to the Infiniti dealership at least 7 times to address this issue. The service dept. Has performed occupancy sensor reprogramming multiple times, but the issue did not get resolved. On 10/31/14, the Infiniti service replaced the passenger side seat bottom frame. This did not fix the airbag sensor problem. Infiniti corporate sent an event monitor that Infiniti service installed on 12/22/14. On 1/30/15, Infiniti removed the event monitor & it was sent to Infiniti corporate. Their response was that it is working the way it should. Even though a national recall was sent out on the issue, Infiniti refuses to do anymore to properly resolve the safety issue.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2013

The airbag sensor for the front passenger seat is not working well or accurately. Even with a person who is 115 lbs and 5'3" in the passenger seat, the sensor will go on and off, not committing to either activating the airbags or not. The sensor is not consistent and it is extremely concerning that passengers will not have the protection of an airbag should there be an accident. This has been going on since we first owned the car in summer of 2013. We have brought it to the attention of the dealer multiple times. They assure us all software is up to date from the manufacturer and no further action is required.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2013

We have taken our 2013 Infiniti Jx35, manufactured in 9/12, to the dealer three times in 7 months to have them inspect the passenger airbag sensor. When passengers (full-sized adults) sit in the seat, occasionally the dashboard light indicates the airbag is not operational. The dealer and Infiniti refuse to acknowledge or correct the issue, despite an active recall on this very issue for over 80,000 Nissan/Infiniti vehicles. Infiniti insists our VIN is not among the recalled vehicles, yet refuses to provide the exact date of manufacture in order for us to independently check NHTSA records.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2013

Air bag sensor turns off intermittently. It will happen in the middle of a drive. Took car to dealer to have it serviced. They told me the sensor was reset and if it happened again they would replace it. When it happened again about a month later I got a different story. I turned it in to the dealer and later in the same day I heard that Nissan had recalled the air bag sensor on 5 models, including the Jx35. When I picked it up, the service department gave me the same story, they recalibrated the sensor and to bring it back if there were more problems and it would be replaced.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2012

The air bag sensor on the passenger side repeatedly shows "air bag off" with passenger in the seat. Despite repeated complaints to pepe Infiniti dealership and to Infiniti customer service, the only answer I'm getting is that the current recall does not cover my VIN number. It is a serious issue with potentially fatal consequences.

12 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

The passenger side airbag does not operate when my wife sits in the seat. According to federal regulations, an airbag must be operational for woman who weigh 110 lbs. My wife weighs approximately 118 pounds and is 5 feet 4 inches. I took the car to the dealer on numerous occassions. They "zero-point" balanced the seat but it still did not detect that my wife was sitting in the seat. We took a ride with the service manager of the dealership who observed the problem and agreed that the car was defective. I have numerous videos also documenting the problem. He also indicated that he contacted the Infiniti home service office who stated that they did not have a fix for the problem. Interestingly, we tested several Jx35's all had the same problem. We also tested the new infinti sedan which also had the same problem. Lastly, we tested the qx56 and it worked perfectly. The service manager told us that they moved the sensors in the seat for the Jx35 and that is causing the problem. I should note that we also tested a mercedes, Lexus, Cadillac and BMW and all of these vehicles registered that my wife was in the passenger seat and the airbag was operational. The dealer told me to contact Infiniti directly because there was nothing they could do. Infiniti customer service basically ignored my claim despite the fact that the dealer called them on my behalf and confirmed the defect. From reviewing other complaints it is clear that infinit has a disgn defect concerning the sensors for their passenger side airbag. However, at this time they are simply ignoring this issue. I hope that this complaint will help save a persons life as infinit does not seem to care abour safety.

13 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2012

The air bag sensor deactivation light in the Infiniti Jx35 comes on when my wife (who weights 130 pounds) or any female passenger of similar size sits in the front passenger seat. Sometimes the air bag deactivation light stays on for as long as 15 minutes. This has been a consistent issue ever since I purchased the vehicle in July 2012. No matter how my wife sits, this is a problem. However, when I sit in the passenger seat (I weigh 200 pounds), there are no problems. This is a widespread complaint regarding the jx 35 as evidenced by a web search. However, Infiniti dangerously attempts to blame it on the way people sit in the seat. I have filed a complaint with Infiniti's office of consumer affairs (case #12036945) and taken the vehicle twice to the passenger Infiniti in dealership in alexandria without any resolution. There is an obvious design defect with the air bag sensors in the front passenger seat, which creates a dangerous situation as the air bags are, at times, deactivated, for passengers weighing 130 or even more pounds. I greatly appreciate your assistance with this matter.
