Infiniti JX35 owners have reported 1 problem related to transmission not engage (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle will be running and suddenly and with no warning, the transmission will not provide power to the wheels. Engine will not rev unless in neutral. This will happen while the car is in motion. I was driving in the fast lane of a 3 lane highway over a bridge when the car suddenly lost power. Engine was running but no power was being transmitted to the wheels. Engine would rev in neutral but once put into drive, the transmission would not engage and the engine would not rev. The second time, I was driving up a slight incline on a street and the car lost power to the wheels again. Engine would rev in neutral, but when put into drive, no power to the wheels and the engine would not rev. Both time it was very dangerous to have the car quit right in the middle of traffic. When stuck on the bridge blocking the fast lane, a chp eventually showed up to push me off the bridge. When stuck on the street, I was able to coast backwards into an open parking space on the side of the road.
