1 Other Fuel System problem of the 2008 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 07/08/2024

There was previous recall on this vehicle, 10v-074 (Infiniti #r1011) for a fuel sender problem, causing the fuel gauge to be inaccurate. Infiniti says it was fixed in 2010. Unfortunately, I am having the exact same problem now, and have run out of gas twice because of it. Infiniti said they can't help because it was already fixed. Safety issue because running out of fuel while driving is dangerous. Both times has been on an interstate. It was a previously reported recall and "fixed" but has failed again. Infiniti says they won't fix it again.

Failure Date: 10/09/2019

My truck completely shuts off while driving long distances on the freeway at speeds greater than 60 mph and then slowing down in stop and go traffic. It also falls dead on local roads at 30-40 mph. I can literally press the gas pedal to the floor and with no pressure to the accelerator. There are no warning codes or alerts when this happens. I took my vehicle to the southwest Infiniti paid for unnecessary service and the problem still remains. I am able to restart the vehicle;but from only park or neutral. I then have to rev up the engine for at least 5 mins before I am able to get any type of acceleration. This is very dangerous and I almost got hit several times.

15 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

There's a strong odor of gasoline once we park the vehicle. I did some searches online and noticed there was a recall for Nissan/infinit 2012 vehicles due to the fuel pressure sensors may not have been sufficiently tightened during production. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen with vehicle usage and cause a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could cause a vehicle fire. this includes 2012 infinit Qx56 which is the vehicle we have but when I search my vehicles VIN, your site tells me there is no recall. I believe more vehicles than originally thought might have this recall issue.

19 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 05/15/2017

I have a failed fuel rail pressure sensor which is part of a voluntary safety recall that was done in 2012. I called the manufacturer to inform them about my fuel sensor they told me that my car isn't part of the recall because their engineers determined that it wasn't part of the recall! I'm not sure how they determined that out of all cars produced that year. Now I'm stuck with a car I can't drive unless I take it to the dealership and spend money to get it fixed. My only hope now is that someone from NHTSA can help me out and get them to fix their defective part! thanks.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2005 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 10/03/2016

I was driving on a very busy street going about 45mph and without warning my car lost power. I tried to accelerate but it did not work and then I tried braking and then I knew I was in trouble. The car did not respond at all, so I pulled off to a side street where the car actually rolled to a stop. I could barley turn the steering wheel. I had to have the car towed to a Nissan dealership. I find out today after a little research there was a recall # 10v074000 on this year and model but it's VIN # specific. Meaning that my VIN was not included. So now I'm stuck with a bill for 969 bucks for this exact recall! Nissan wont be getting my business anymore, my life and safety is way to precious !!!!!! no recourse what so ever! ugh.

29 Other Fuel System problem of the 2005 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 12/03/2009

This letter is in reference to a previous complaint filed with Infiniti consumer affairs on December 3, 2009, regarding my vehicle shutting completely down, stalled out, not moving in the drive or reverse position at a busy intersection on a rainy stormy evening. This occurrence could have caused a serious accident or worse, a fatality. As a result of police assistance and having my vehicle towed directly to the dealership, to date there are no mechanical issues found by the dealer related to my vehicle shutting down at the intersection. My complaint contains additional serious vehicle issues regarding my headlights, instrument cluster/panel, and the fuse box under the hood. Both headlights on my vehicle suddenly stopped working at the same time. The bulbs were replaced and the headlight fuses were found to be functioning. The instrument panel/cluster light blinks constantly as I drive and the panel/cluster gauges are completely not functioning properly. Fuses have been checked under the vehicle’s hood and results indicate some of the 10 amp fuses are not functioning at all. I am concerned that there should have been a safety recall regarding my 2005 Infiniti qx 56, which appears to jeopardize my safety. There are no legitimate answers or explanations as to why my vehicle’s headlights are not working, the cluster/panel has malfunctioned, or why some fuses underneath my vehicle’s hood are not functioning. As a result of my vehicle’s expired warranty and mechanical failures, I have consumed a great deal of out-of-pocket expenses, including a traffic citation regarding my headlights. I am limited and inconvenienced to driving my vehicle at night as a result of my inoperable headlights which can cause me great harm. I am requesting that my situation be given serious immediate attention and resolution.
