4 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2011 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

On June 1st 2020 I took my 2011 Infiniti Qx56 to the shop for having the code p0087. The shop told me that I should take it to the dealership because the problems the vehicle is having are recalled under voluntary safety recall campaign. When I called my local Infiniti dealership they told me my VIN # doesn't doesn't show as recalled. They dealership provided me with the phone number of Infiniti consumer affairs. I called Infiniti affairs and told them about my vehicle they told me that they were sorry but my VIN doesn't show up on their system. The bottom line is that every single thing that I researched and find the wrong of the vehicle comes back with a voluntary recall. Like the fuel system, timing chain, vvt solenoids, high pressure fuel pump. I use vehicle in the city and highway.

Failure Date: 04/19/2019

Was driving home, a/c was on, all lights was on, all of a suddenly lost of power to the engine and while going up hill, so I floor it so the vehicle so I can get past over the hill then I started to smell something through the vents like it was on fire coming from the engine bay so I pulled over and turned off the engine pop the hood but didn't see no fire, then when I tried to start the vehicle back up it wouldn't so I waited for few minutes and tried again, the vehicle started back up so I went on driving again but it didn't show any thing on the dash no check engine light at all. It done it again lose of power to the engine and I started smelling something burning like metal coming from the vents again lucky I was close to home when it done it again, I shut the vehicle off and put the scanner on it, it throw out 3 codes but it never showed up on the dash saying check engine light at all. For the 3 codes one was for fuel pump other was for 02 sensor and the other was ecm I believe, wish I wrote them all down.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2011 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 06/30/2016

Fuel leveling sensor is faulty in a large variety of Infiniti cars, but there is not recall for my VIN. The car's fuel gauge goes up and down all the time and tells me I'm on empty when I'm not and never registers full even when it was just filled up. It can jump from reading 330 miles left to empty down to 299 and back up to 330 in just a few seconds. The diagnostic confirmed a problem, but they want over $1,000 to fix a known problem in many of their makes and models. This doesn't even touch on the timing chain issue that is faulty as well. Luckily, there is a recall for that one. How is the consumer protected against this type of faulty parts? is there anything we can do? we have been told we need to replace the fuel pump.
