Jaguar XJ8 owners have reported 2 problems related to engine cooling system (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Car purchased in Jan 2003 problem first occurred in Aug 2004 while driving my normal route to work. Called dealer and explained that a warning light came on "engine coolant low" . Asked them to advise me on what to do. They said to bring in ASAP. I took car in the following day and they said they 'topped" it off meaning they added fluids and that was all I needed. The problem was fixed. Over the course of the next 3 years I took my car into dealership approx every 3 mos for a problem that by this time the dealer said it could not be fixed however that there was no reason for concern as it was just a sensor . I still own the vehicle and the light is still coming on.

My 1998 Jaguar Xj8l keeps stalling at highway speeds, very very dangerous. I am almost in an accident on 95 everytime this happens. The dealer has said it is a dirty throttle that may be causing this, but even after servicing it just starts up again. . . After investigating here on the web I have found that this is a common problem that needs to be addressed. I believe this is what happened to me back on September 2004, when my engine just completely froze up on 95 and had to replace it at a cost of $15,874. 00. This need to be addressed and a recall should be posted for these vehicles before someone gets killed. I have a sneaky feeling that this is starting all over again with the engine stalling and now I only have 13,000 miles on my new engine. Please help!.
