1 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2020

The radio reception has waxed and waned since I purchased the vehicle. I have another vehicle and the parallel reception between the 2 is not comparable. . . . The 2014 Jeep is very poor in its ability to provide adequate radio information from even nearby stations. I'm not sure this is a safety issue. . . More of a quality issue for the manufacturer. . Also, a blatant misrepresentation by the sales people. I have not found a single person out of the approximately 100 people with Cherokees or grand Cherokees who tell me their radios perform well. Help!.

2 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2018

My 2014 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk started having issues where traction control would engage when stopped at a light and it would stay on until the car was turned off. This progressed to an instance where I was stopped at a light and traction control engaged while stopped and the engine stalled. I took the car to the Jeep dealership and the only code was to check wire connections, which they said they did. The car drove fine for about one day, then, while on the highway, the dashboard and radio would start to cut out briefly and come back on. Once I was off the highway and stopped at a light, traction control engaged. At the next light, the car stalled again. I used a code reader and there were no codes available. This could cause an accident if the car loses power when driving at highway speeds.

The radio and all functions related to this, including heat/ac, back up camera, environmental controls, hands free calling, intermitantly go off. Sometimes when I start the car, need to wait 15 minutes or more before it starts. Other times it fails when driving. Jeep dealer stated the radio went bad and needs replacing. He also stated that he needs to replace these regularly.

2014 Jeep Cherokee. Consumer writes in regards to issues with car stalling. The consumer stated that the vehicle shifted hard between first and second gear. A "thud" could be heard when the vehicle jerked. The vehicle would "chug" and stall at intersections. The stalling also occurred when reversing and upon breaking in order to shift. The vehicle propelled forward when downshifting nearly hitting the vehicle in front of it. The vehicle became stuck at 3000 plus rpm when going down hill. The brake would have to be applied in order to have the car shift. The vehicle had a "howling" sound at the front end that worsens in cold weather. It was only heard while in motion. The radio randomly switched stations. Also, it would switch from the radio to the phone. Phone calls would not go through, but the timer for the call would connect. The radio and phone would be inoperable until the vehicle was restarted and they key removed from the ignition for at least 3 minutes. The dealer could not duplicate the failures. The consumer was concerned the warranty would run out before the vehicle could be repaired. Updated 08/28/2017.

When I push the gas pedal to accelerate the vehicle does not speed up for some time, I can have the gas pedal pushed to the floor and there is a very long lag time for the car to speed up and switch gears, it is extremely dangerous, I have put in reverse several times to back out of my garage and the car will not go in reverse, the entire car thumps back and forth and hesitates and takes some time to get in gear, my radio has stopped working twice, touch screen blacked out recently while in motion, when attempting to pass a car I can not safely get my speed up, its a real lemon and dangerous, I am waiting to get rear ended, pushing on gas pedal and engine revs up real loud but car does not accelerate like a normal car would, purchased 7 month ago and seems to be having more issues every day, was in a drive through with car on, foot on brake, and car in drive and took foot off brake and hit gas pedal and car did not go like it was in neutral, I had to put in park, turn off and turn on again to put in drive, this vehicle is not safe, will take it in for recall repair tomorrow and if not repairable will be traded, do not purchase, looks nice but terrible transmission.

6 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2016

One morning I was driving to work in my 2014 Jeep Cherokee, and I lost all power going 30 mph. The dash lights went off, the radio went off, and the engine turned off. I coasted to the shoulder with no power. I called the fca recall assistance center and they suggested I get a diagnostic done. If the problem is due to the s55 transaxle wire harness recall, then they said I would be eligible for a loaner vehicle until the recall part was made for my Jeep. I called my local Jeep dealer and set up an appointment to get the diagnostic done. 2 days after my loss of power, I got a message on my dash that said "service 4wd. " I'm deeply concerned about my safety, and the safety of my family in this Jeep.

7 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2016

I brought my Jeep in for the safety recall r40 radio security vulnerability on 9/16/16. They tried to do the software update 5 times over 4 and half hours. The result of the failure is not having access to the in car phone/rescue system, no navigation, no blue tooth, no radio or music access and no control over the heat/air vents, seat warmers or steering wheel warmer. I was told they needed to replace the radio. They told me it takes about 3-5 days. I followed up with them Wednesday 9/21/16, Thursday 9/22/16 and Friday 9/23/16, as they told me it was on the way and I should just try back the next day. On Friday 9/23/16 I was advised the part was back ordered and would not be there until the 1st week in October. On Tuesday 10/4 I was advised it still had not shipped and they expected it some time next week. Thursday 10/6 I was advised it's not scheduled to ship until 10/18. The continuous lies about when this will be fixed are exasperating. I feel unsafe in my car now and I have a 45 mile commute to and from work. I also pay for sirius radio and have been unable to use it since this happened.

8 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2015

In less than a year chysler Jeep has replace transmission, radio, read trunk door handle. Dec 5 2015 car started jerking again like this may -July 2015 and then @3:30pm 12 /5 /15 Cherokee stop in the middle of the intersection of 13 mile & utica. I had my 7yr old in the car and avoided traffic accident pulled over and it suddenly stopped again. Fortunately was able to get home was only five minutes away. Placed complaint to Chrysler they towed the vehicle 12/7/15. However yesterday 12/7/15 @6pm roseville Chrysler Jeep dealership service:(888)409-5930 called to tell me it was my error that Jeep Cherokee stop working because it was "due an oil change in October". I told repair shop my husband and I need to speak to a manager because 1st I received no light signal or notification from this digital display stating I needed an oil change which is provided by 2014 Jeep Cherokee second there is no way the vehicle should have been dry out of oil unless there is leak or something caused oil to dry up. This vehicle is a lemon and is dangerous and all I want is to exchange for another vehicle that is not a Cherokee. July 2015 Chrysler customer care dept. Said my case warranted a vehicle replacement but since roseville Chrysler Jeep have received their money from allay bank they refuse to assist me. This vehicle is dangerous and want to cancel my lease agreement - I pay my $380 lease on time every month I deserve a reliable vehicle from roseville Chrysler Jeep.

9 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2015

Several times while I was driving the digital dash display went blank, red "battery" indicator came on, "no bus" fault message appeared, the headlights went off, the turn signal did not work, radio did not work, door locks would not work (lock/unlock). The safety issue is to lose function of headlights and turn signal while driving. Also if a crash were to occur, I may not be able to exit my vehicle in an emergency, due to not being able to unlock my doors. Between August 27, 2015 and September 14, 2015 this occurred four (4) separate times. The vehicle was turned in for service each time this occurred. The problem is intermittent, during driving it can come and go. Service department at authorized Jeep dealer stated that they do not have any instrumentation to troubleshoot can bus and they can not duplicate the issue. I would pull over into a safe area and take photos of the dash showing the faults. Service department can only reset faults as displayed on a tablet when plugged into the vehicle. Again dealer has no tools to look up bus problems, electrical contact issue, etc.

10 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2014

Traveling to work touched the command button on the steering wheel at that very moment the radio, screen, bluetooth, uconnect system lost power. The radio shut off and the center screen that controls many safety features of the car went blank and would not come back on. I had to call the dealership and they took it in immediately to resolve the issues. I have had the car two months put about 1,200 miles on the car and it has been back at Jeep several times with issues/recalls.

11 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2014

Started car in the garage, put the car in reverse and the dash lights were blinking and the radio display flashed and said service trans and the service trans stays lit. Had the car towed to the fuller dealer on rt 22. Somerville NJ. Got the car back 8/8/14. The transmission continues to give me problems while shifting. At time I can step on the gas to accelerate and the car doesn't move than all of a sudden will rush forward. Slowing down and going around a turn is the worst because stepping back on the gas the car feels as if it's going to stop then at once it will rush forward as if I was stepping on the gas all the way to the floor. Had the car back and on 8/21 was pulling out of the driveway at work and heard a terrible grinding noise and lost ability to steer the car. Had it towed and the dealer called the next day to tell me that the left front axle had snapped and was probably a defective one from the manufacturer. I want to get rid of the car because I don't feel safe driving it. I'm afraid if I ever need to step on the gas to get out of the way of something, I will not be able to and will be involved in an accident. Terrible transmission and will be discussing my concerns with my lawyer.
