I just purchased my car January 4, 2021. I have had it cut off on me 4 times. Like shut completely off and it takes like 10 to 15 minutes to actually start back up. The shift gears message pops up, it cut the traction control automatically off so that light pops up. The check engine light and battery light pops up. I dont know whats happening but it almost caused an accdident twice on 695 highway because it shut off. Thank god the kids were not with me at the time. I am reading that his happens to alot of people with Jeeps. Wish I would have known that before purchasing. I just want a safe and reliable SUV for me and my children.
While driving the service shifter lighter appears on dash and shifter position lights all light randomly and has been becoming more frequent. They turn off once I stop, turn the car off, and restart the car. I have read models previously have been recalled for this issue but not 2017 which appears to have the same issues. Also I've had to change my spark plugs at about every 50,000 miles. I replaced them once already and once again I am having the same issue the check engine light is on and at times the car is shaking from the misfiring. The check engine light remains on at a times. The check engine light flashes and the car is shaking the power and acceleration are significantly reduced when the spark plugs are actively misfiring. This only occurs with accelerating and pressing on gas pedal and happens constantly while driving. I've never had to replace spark plugs this often they usually last atleast 100,000 miles. There is a problem when they barely last for half that and require replacement atleast 2 times before they should go bad. These seem to be a common issue but when you ask the dealer they act clueless and something needs to be done. These are costly problems that should not be occurring or occurring this frequently. Please investigate.
Check engine light comes on and the vehicle stalls while driving. Dealership claims low oil between oil changes, we have the oil changed regularly at the dealership and do not exceed the recommended mileage between changes. This has occurred on main roads during times of high traffic and has put my family in danger on several occasions. This started happening with less than 20,000 miles on the vehicle and has happened a total of five times now. The vehicle now has 36,000 miles on it and I'm tired of dealing with this issue.
The check engine light came on. Found out could be gas cap or bad fuel. Filled up when close to empty. Engine light disappeared. Was fine for month or so. Now check engine light on constantly. Checked w auto parts store. Computer reader said could be thermostat. Only three years old. Now has 40k miles. Start w engine problems already?.
The car started off by problems with the chip to compute that it needed to open the temperature control valve. So with that came the inability for me to start the car by being outside of it and also the check engine light would come on. Then our gears would light up as if the car was in ever position possible. We would park cut the car off and resume to drive. This problem persisted for a week or so went away and eventually came back. Now the engine feels as if it's giving out it doesn't accelerate well, I know it's a v4 but it should have maintained the get up the car has less than 50,000 miles on it and is well maintained with frequent oil changes with the best oil. Car is never driven on e or anything I don't understand how the car is failing this early. I heard Jeep's have been very dependable cars.
While driving the car in the highway and with 3 kids in the car I had the brake ,abs, and check engine light up. I wasn't able to drive it afterwards. I had to turn off vehicle and wait a bit then turn it on again. This has happened to me several times. I have called the dealership and they have no recalls. My vehicle has 50,000 miles and has been doing this since it had 25,000. Thd dealership has advised me my warranty is expired and unable to fix it unless I pay out of pocket.
While driving vehicle shuts off with out warning. Start is impossible for 30-45 seconds. No check engine light and no drivability issues before or after vehicle shut down. Has happened twice in the last few weeks.
I have a few problems that is going on with my Jeep. One, there has been a few occasions where I am driving my Jeep, at a slow speed, and it will ding and lock up. Then it will shut off. I will have to sit for a few minutes before it will allow me to crank it again. I have also had an issue where when driving my Jeep to my destination, it does fine. But once I park, the car will not start again unless jumped off. I replaced the battery expecting that to fix it, but it did not. I have taken it to a dealership multiple times and no one can find a problem. There has also been some problems with it throwing a check engine light. The code says throttle position sensor. When I take it somewhere, they say the throttle position sensor is fine. I just want my car to be safe for me and everyone around me. My car has left me stranded on many occasions, and it is unreliable. I am scared to take my car anywhere except work and home due to the fact I don't trust it.
While I was driving yesterday, my car died out on me. The car is only 6 months old. I was driving when the battery light began to flash and the car shut off on me. I had electrical power as the sterio was working, but the engine and power steering shut off without a check engine light. I was luckily able to coast into a parking lot and put the car in park. I shut it off pulled the key fob from the ignition and tried to restart it. It had difficulty turning over and about after 39 seconds it turned over and started. Then everything was normal. The car died out on me while going 45 miles per hour on a very busy street and I could barely turn the wheel to get into a parking lot. After this happened the car went back to normal and no warnings were displayed. I went to my uconnect app and it did not register the issue or say there was any issues on the car. If this happens on an expressway this can be deadly and it jeeds to be addressed!.
