The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate, and the vehicle lost automotive power. The contact stated that the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine valve had failed and entered the engine cylinder causing catastrophic damages to the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 18v344000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 86,000.
