37 Body problem of the 2018 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 01/30/2021

In early 2021, the doorhandle on the driver's side of my car froze in minimal snow/freezing rain. The electronics in the doorhandle were corrupted, and broke. This cause a short in the system, making my car lock and unlock itself uncontrolled, thereby draining the battery. The car could not be jumpstarted for this reason because the battery was perpetually drained. It required being towed, and the remedy took several months. This is completely unreasonable, for a small freeze to totally "brick" an off-road vehicle because of a doorhandle issue.

I only had this car for 2 months before I got any of these messages and started having these issues. I can't afford to fix this at the moment and it's really stressful trying to figure out what is wrong with my car. Its very dangerous to drive. Please help.

I have a photo of this sticker. Inside on the car's body frame of the driver's side of my 2017 Jeep, there is a sticker that says: this vehicle may include Mercury -- added devices installed by the manufacturer: video display (which I have to touch to operate the radio and phone call free feature) navigation/camera display (which I have to touch to operate the radio and phone call free feature) hdi headlamps (which I touch when I wash my car) remove devices before vehicle's disposal. Upon removal of devices, please reuse, recycle or dispose as hazardous waste. When I travel (on a straight road like interstate 5 in washington and oregon) for more than 3 hours, I get nauseous, dizzy, and do not feel well for hours afterwards. This has been an on-going scenario. I had asked my mechanic to check the ac system, clean all of the vents, and replace the filters and it still did not fix my reaction to driving in the car or being just a passenger. This is unacceptable! please recall and rectify this hazardous situation immediately among all owners of a 2017 Jeep. Why it is always in the hands of the consumer to make things right? why can't corporations just do the right thing for its customers and the earth? this blatant irresponsibility and corporate greed is getting so old. I was getting gas with my baby in the car with me when I tried to shift into park the car was stuck. The emergency brake engages itself. When I looked around and in the back I noticed water in the spare tire wheel well. I understand the electrical component to the emergency brake is underneath this. I followed the water trail (it rained the night before) and saw a huge crack in my frame when the lift gate was up. Which, to me is where the water is coming from. I got it to my dealership, somehow and it's there currently. I called my insurance company, they will not cover because I did not have an action that caused this problem (such as an accident). They advised me this is a manufacturing problem.

I bought a brand new 2019 Jeep Cherokee trail hawk from an amarillo texas dealership. I noticed when I bought the vehicle the hood was shaking and the wind was picking it up like it was loose. I took it in 3 times to have it fixed. The first time they said the factory misaligned the hood at the factory and they realigned it. It still was shaking and coming up. Took it back 2nd time they adjusted it again, took it home same problem, not fixed. Took it back a third time they looked at it said they did all they could do to fix it. I have been driving a brand new vehicle that is unsafe on the highway. My hood still catches air pulls up and slams down and an engine light has come on 3 times. I have children that ride in this car. I dont drive on windy days because I feel unsafe in the car. It feels like the latch on the hood is going to give way and my hood is going to come up and hit my windshield. I am protected under the lemon law and nothing is being done about this safety concern. I need an investigation conducted on my vehicle . As of right now it is unsafe to drive. My hood doesn't sit flush with the body of the car and you can fit all of your fingers in the gap between the hood and body of car.

60 Body problem of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 04/12/2019

Since the day I picked up this 2019 Jeep Cherokee limited two weeks ago, the hood shakes and flutters in certain driving conditions causing safety concerns. Driving into high winds and over 55 mph, air gets under the hood in such a way that it seems as if the hood could break loose causing either injuries or an accident. It gets even worse when driving in side winds and meeting semi trucks. It actually appears that the gust of wind coming off the truck is going to take the hood off of the vehicle. Driving this Cherokee in these conditions has personally caused me very high anxiety to the point where I am constantly focused on the hood rather than the road. When meeting semi trucks on the highway, I pull as far to the right as possible sometimes completely going off the road in an attempt to minimize the wind gust. These are major safety concerns to me and I don't feel safe driving this vehicle on public roads. It has gotten to the point where I have to take anti anxiety medication just to get the courage to drive on the highway, thus causing other safety issues and feeling as if I'm being an irresponsible driver. The Jeep dealer has adjusted the hood latch and bumpers but the problem still exists just as it did when I purchased the vehicle.
