I have had my Jeep for 2 weeks. When driving at night I cannot see 20-30 feet in front of me and there is not much difference between dim and bright. This is very dangerous so I replaced the bulbs with sylvania silverstar halogen zxe. The bulbs are brighter but did not correct the distance visibility. Too dangerous to drive after dark especially with on coming traffic.
First the Jeep could not move when we turn on the engine is on, we took it to the dealer and they fixed that problem saying it needed a battery. We let them put the battery in and took it home, next we get in the car to go somewhere, turn on the ignition, and a warning message appeared on the dash board saying low beam head light out we checked the lights on the Jeep and they did not come on, the high beam or the low beam. This sounds like an electrical problem to me and that is why I think it should be a recalled vehicles, also, this car is like new because we have not been able to drive it much because of the problems we have had from it. When a car is running and cannot move we know that is a transmission problem, now this! please help us now!.

As I am driving my car stahl's and everything shuts off. This typically happens as I am making a turn. This typically happens as I get closer to the date of my next oil change. The car shuts off completely and I must coast to a stop. After waiting about a minute I can restart the engine. This is a very dangerous situation as I am typically turning to cross traffic.
My radio goes in an out but shows audio off. My push start don't want to work sometimes and my ac will go out.

The service shifter light keeps coming on and all the lights on the shifter l lights up red. Sometime the emergency break sets itself when this happens. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it and they tell me the shifter bezel and wiring harness fault repair is needed which is almost $300 and not covered under warranty. My car has less than 36,000 miles and has been doing this for several months now; it seems to be getting worse. While researching I've noticed many Jeep owners are having to same issue and that's how I discovered to write up this claim. I feel it could be a safety issue if it happens while driving and locks up. I haven't had it repaired because I can't afford a rental while it's being repair at this time; I need to make arrangements to be dropped off by family and friends to have it fixed. It has happened while sitting stationary, in motion on city streets and interstate roads and when first gearing after starting and reverse. (this has happened multiple times since I purchased the vehicle last year in may; it's just more frequently now).
While driving my gear shift suddenly has all lights engaged (park, drive, reverse, and neutral) simultaneously. Has occurred multiple times on both city streets and highways and only resolves by turning engine off and back on. Unknown cause.
Shift gear light comes on.

Turn the my vehicle on and all lights on my gear shifter came on and stayed on. A message on my dash was service shifter.
I was going down the road and I heard a ding. I looked at were my mph is displayed and it was showing service shifter and all the lights where the shifter is was lite up.
Front headbeams on high are so dim, it is a design flaw no one even flashes me when on high beam.
I've had to replace my low beams 10+ times this year. They keep shorting our. Also have to have my engine thermostat replaced even though it's working fine. It's electrical keeps causing my check engine light to come on. And the fix is replacing something that is fully working. And because my check engine light is on I can't makw it through deq to get tags for my car. This is the 3rd (separate) electrical problem I've had with this car and I'm done. Keep should stand up for their product.
Takata recall when I engage high beams or turn on my right blinker my hazards flash quickly in the back only. I have been pulled over multiple times due to this issue. Have had multifunction switch replaced.

Defective headlamps causing premature low beam burn out. Replaced the left headlamp 3/8/2018 and the right 5/9/2018. The left low beam headlamp has nurned out again after only 5 months and requires replacement. This is highly irregular.
On July 18, 2018 I went outside to get an item out of back of my vehicle which was stationary and I couldn't get liftgate to lift and I noticed there was smoke in my car, I opened the drivers side door and smoke billowed out. After a few minutes, I got in the vehicle and moved it back away from my house and noticed I had no a/c, radio or anything working on dashboard. I looked in back of vehicle and it was burnt in the back left corner of lift gate. I immediately called my insurance company and they had it towed to mike smith auto group in beaumont. The smell in the vehicle was awful, a combination of burnt rubber and plastic. There was a recall on this vehicle for back left liftgate in 2015 of which I took it in and supposedly it was repaired. I also immediately called the dealership of which they were no help at all and very unconcerned. I talked to my insurance company and they said if it was due to a recall I should call Chrysler corporation of which I did daily with no results. They would not let me talk to anyone, they finally sent an inspector of which he just looked at the inside of car, did not take the panels off or anything and sent to the corporation and they sent me a letter stating it was not due to recall. My insurance company sent an engineer who took the panel off and searched it thoroughly and determined it was due to the recall. I cannot get any help on this which is not my fault.
On 4 separate occassions, while in motion, the car completely shut down. On each stall, everything shut off completely including all lights dashboard etc. When I attempted to restart the car in the middle of the road (once on the highway) obstructing traffic, the car would not restart. Only after waiting 3 -5 minutes did the car eventually start. Twice I was almost rear ended.
Without warning all the dash panel lights shut off. This has occurred twice. Both incidents happened while driving straight on highways at dusk. ( 5:30 pm, March 7, 2018 on illinois I-72 and 8:15 pm, may 31, 2018 on missouri highway 6. ) the dash lights came back on after 15 - 20 minutes and/or a restart of the auto. It was terrifying to experience a sudden loss of dash lights at dusk and travelling at road speed. Cause is unknown to me. I plan to contact my Jeep dealership.
The light will not come on on the dashboard I can't tell how fast I'm going or how much gas is in the car I took it to a auto place they put a thing on the car and it said it was the cluster there was a recall on the cluster and I took it to a Chrysler place in madison ohio they said they fixed it but it's not fixed they told me in order for them to see if it's the cluster the recall I will have to pay a $115. 00 dollars. Just to check if it's the recall.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 15 mph, the contact was concerned that the headlamps did not project far enough ahead to safely drive at night. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,251.
Factory headlights are terrible. Almost impossible to drive at night and really bad when its raining. Talked with local dealer and they said there is no problem. Start/stop does not work also.
Left visor no power also garage door opener no power wires smelled like they were burning while driving Jeep later I found out no power left visor & garage door opener no power.
Head lights are very dim, turned on bright is no better. Lights are to small, I can't travel at night unless necessary because it's dangerous to travel with lights that dim. When making a turn at night it's pretty much guessing where you are, dangerous in the rural area I live in. The lights needs to be replaced before someone is injured.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 65 mph in the rain, the windshield wiper motor failed and the exterior and interior lighting shut off. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. Once the vehicle was restarted, the lights turned back on and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to bemidji Chrysler center (located at 755 paul bunyan dr NW, bemidji, mn 56601, (218) 751-8006) where it was diagnosed, but a failure could not be found. In addition, while driving 35 mph, the steering wheel seized and the brake pedal failed to stop the vehicle when it was depressed. As a result, the contact crashed into a fence. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene and was not diagnosed for the brake and steering failures. The approximate failure mileage was 37,000.
Visor wiring shorted out when I was driving truck , I could smell plastic burning after visor light, garage door opener built into visor stopped working. Also NHTSA campign id 14v39100-NHTSA 15v879 these only cover Jeep grand Cherokee and Dodge trucks not Jeep Cherokee same problem no coverage.
When 2015 Jeep Cherokee front windshield wipers are turned on, the instrument panel lights dim. The vehicle was in motion on an interstate highway. Maybe an electrical problem. . . Unknown. This has happened several times, last being September 17, 2016.
On 9-14 my left headlamp burned out, and on 12-2 2016 my rt headlamp burned out. These were hid hd/lps. Each cost me $215 to replace. I asked Chrysler about this but got no response. I find it hard to believe two lamps would burn out with the car having approx. 30,000 miles on it. I believe this to be a defect in "philips" hid elements.
For the past 2 weeks, my dashboard lights flicker on and off. There is an audible click and then they turn off and back on. I do not have automatic headlamps but the action and sound is similar to a vehicle which is equipped with this feature except that instead of the dashboard lights changing brightness, they go off completely. I do not know if this affects my running lights or headlamps as I have not yet been driving in conditions that would let me easily determine whether they turn off when this occurs. This always happens while I am driving most notably upon a slow down or acceleration at a light or stopsign. This has happened multiple times, almost daily during my brief commutes.
Vehicle has a front wobble or shimmy when accelerating from stop. On loose or slick pavement wobble replicates wheel slip and has caused me to over correct my steering and acceleration on multiple occasions. Vehicle steering wheel is wrapped in leather. The leather is loose near center spokes of steering wheel. Fingers have snagged on the loose leather on multiple occasions causing a dangerous control issue. Vehicle delivered with non functioning blind spot monitor mirror on passenger side and normal mirror on driver side. Assuming the passenger side was equipped with blind spot assistance I was nearly in an interstate collision during the night drive home immediately following delivery.
Light-emmiting-diode lamp which indicates when the parking-break is engaged is not visible in daylight [I. E. Peak bright southern California sunshine]. And, the led color is non-optimal for human observation. The led which is illuminated when the parking-break is set is not visible in day light. Please consider fixing or repairing this problem ASAP. I routinely need to cover the area with my hand and squint in order to see if the led is lighted. This is a serious problem that could easily be fixed. Perhaps someone during assembly used the wrong resistor??? I hope that Chrysler Jeep used pwm to control the led brightness, so that this issue can be fixed with a software update.
Head lights inadequate. Difficult it see at night and in rain impossible.
While driving engine shut off without warning, speed goes to 0mph, low battery warning pop up and want me to shift to p and desired gear. Turned it off and on nothing happens. Try it few times and nothing. Waited for 3-5 min turned it on, and it runs normal with engine light on. After about 100ft it stall again. Try the process before and it goes normal again. Car stalled twice a day. First stall happened few days ago. Vehicle was in motion on a city street.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the headlamps did not produce enough light. In addition, when the high beams were illuminated, they were still dimly lit. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlamps needed to be raised. The vehicle was repaired; however, visibility was still poor while driving at night. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was inherent to this model vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.
Owner pulled into rest stop got out to go the restroom while wife got their 14 month old and 4 year old out and put them in the passenger front seat to feed them at this time the font passenger door was open with the under dash courtesy light illuminated for about 10 to 15 mins approximately as which time the door was shut and the car pulled closer to the rest stop and the owner got out and had a snack leaving the vehicle for approximately 30 mins when he returned and opened the driver door he saw smoke in the interior coming from the passenger side floor board area. He opened the passenger side door and observed a pillow and a womens purse located in the floor board with the pillow smoking and falling apart. He pulled the floor mat out on the ground with the pillow and purse on it at which time the pillow burst into flames. After removal of the pillow which was the source of the smoke fire damage and melting was noted to the area of the under dash courtesy light on the passengers side of the vehicle.
I bought this car brand new, and have had problems with it starting randomly, locking, and unlocking randomly, alarm going off in the middle of night, (yes, my neighbors hate me) and now my stereo goes in and out. .
