Side/window Air Bag Problems of Jeep Cherokee

Tl- the contact owns a 1997 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle both the driver side and passenger side air bags erroniously deployed. During the incident the contact sustained a head injury which required medical emergency treatment. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the incident. The failure mileage was 248,000. Jft.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact drove off the road to avoid an animal in the road. Both frontal side air bags deployed without warning or an impact. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. There was no body damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was awaiting diagnostic testing and repairs. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

My daughter wrecked on 4/11 and her Jeep rolled twice in which the front and side airbags didn't deploy. The roof smashed into her head rest resulting in a concussion, fractured hip, and torn hamstring. She was lifelighted. I contacted Jeep and they conducted an investigation and they believed the airbag system operated properly. The wreck report and copy of Jeep's report is included.

I was driving 50 mpg on highway 1 to alaska through canada, and my side airbags deployed without any reason, and my belts blocked. I contacted Chrysler and after 10 days they told me that my car was was in 52 degrees angle at the moment of deployment and they are not responsible for it. There is even a little scratch on my car and I was driving straight when it happen.

Unschedulued airbag deployment.

On July 26, my son had a front impact wreck in his 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport that totaled the car, however neither the driver's side airbag, not the passenger's side airbag deployed. As a result of this crash, my son, who was driving hit his head on the steering wheel and required 11 stiches and my other son, who was the passenger in the car sustained a head injury requiring 8 sticthes as well as numerous impact bruises. Injuries were minimized because both sons were wearing their seatbelts.

Consumer was involved in a front end collision while traveling 45 mph. Driver's side and passenger's side airbags failed to deploy. Driver sustained injuries. Dealer has yet to be contacted. Please provide further details.

While driving on highway at 70 mph and without warning, headlights went completely out causing poor visibility which resulted in an accident, consumer rearended another vehicle causing one injury, upon impact the airbags did not experience deployment, consumer had been to dealer several times due to taillights inoperable and headlamps inoperable prior to accident, dealer replaced fuses and found connector's loose. Consumer states front end pulled to the left while driving, dealer found no problems. Consumer states on normal braking, pedal goes to the floor and during above mentioned accident brakes locked causing a block of skid marks, prior to accident when dealer could find no problems with abs or hydraulic brake system. Vehicle had stalled on 2 occasions at stops, dealer found no problem and 3000 miles later the stalling occurred again, however dealer still could not find problem, possible engine problem.

Car hydroplaned into an embankment when attempting to stop. Luckily the rear window on the liftgate of the Jeep popped off on impact to the embankment. First defect: back of drivers seat broke causing driver to be ejected from the vehicle through the rear window of the liftgate. Second defect: airbag did not deploy even though there was damage to the front of the vehicle. Can't give true estimate for the amount of damage since all medical bills have not been provided by health providers. $ 5,412 worth of personal property (jewelry and other) lost during impact to the embankment.

No deployment of passenger and driver side air bags during vehicle front end collision. Mjs.

Consumer's husband lost control of the Jeep that rounded over into a tree, the seats belt did not hold him in, nor did side air bags deploy.

When going through intersection about (15) mph vehicle was involved in a crash, totalling the right front end of vehicle and there was no deployment of the driver's side air bag. Vehicle has not been repaired.

Failure of the passenger's side air bag, consumer was involved in an accident while travleing 70 mph, the passenger was in the reclining position with the seat belt on and the air bag causing injuries to the occupant's legs.

Owner states that vehicle was involved in a frontal impact with no deployment of driver's side or passenger's side airbags.

When applying brakes vehicle pulled to the left and did not stop. Vehicle crossed the center line, and hit another vehicle head-on. Also, driver's side airbag did not deploy. Dealer did not look at vehicle. There is currently recall 0013600 on the front brake rotors.

While driving 30 mph and applying the brakes the driver's side air bag deployed, causing the driver to hit a trailer. Please give further details.
