38 Suspension problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/25/2021

Car has been jerking almost immediately after buying it brand new. They supposedly "fixed" the problem but jerking has not stopped. It hesitates when trying to accelerate most times and when it shifts into gear it thrusts/jerks so hard. Vehicle has stalled on me numerous times in traffic while coming to a stop. Very afraid to even drive it. It shifts into neutral while driving or turning. It completely shuts off sometimes while in traffic or turning. Cars had to slam on brakes to prevent from hitting me. This happened on several occasions. Had to get the motor mounds and transmissions mounds replaced. Driving down the highway changing lanes wheel felt like it locked up. Getting off the interstate was very hard and scary. Steering wheel would not let me turn completely. Get it home after wrestling with it. Turn it off, to see what the problem was thinking I need power steering. Tried turning it bac on nothing! get it towed, needed a water pump, but found that my motor and transmission mounds needed replaced. After complaining about the jerking movement for so long dealership said it wasn't the transmission and it wasn't going to be covered under warranty. I put too much money into this what supposed to been a new car to have so many problems from the jump. Why is their not a recall on this whole vehicle????? have all these issues but no recalls but 1 has been made. Or I should say campaign. All these complaints about this particular car but no remedies for it. Not even when they "update" "fix" it. Too may problems. This is the worst car I've had. Used cars didn't give me this much trouble. I need to be reimbursed for all the problems I should not have had from a new car. And not covered under warranty at all. Clearly it has transmissions issues and engine issues. Just wasting my time going to get these "fixes" for it not to be fixed not once. The date below is not the first time. It's only the most recent that my car has stalled, jerked and shut down. Horrible car.

39 Suspension problem of the 2021 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/17/2021

I was driving and felt the wheel jerk and heard a crack noise under the front end of my car immediately after my vehichle was pulled abruptly to left causing me to hit a curb. When I got out and inspected the vehichle it looked as if the tire had been tilted inwards towards the car. I had the car towed to my local mechanic they told me that this is part of a recall and I needed to go through the dealership. The dealer is saying my car is not covered under that specific recall which is the exact problem that I had.

40 Suspension problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/02/2021

Wife and I were towing our 2014 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk behind our 28,000 lb motorhome and it began to shake and wobble so bad we had to pull over. We got 35 miles from our home base in ohio. Sat on the side of the road about 20 min and took off again toward an exit about a mile ahead. It did not wobble so we drove on. About 30 miles later it did it again. After it did it 5 times in 80 miles we decided to have the Jeep hauled home and put away for the winter and we left for the south.

41 Suspension problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

My car kept going on neutral last year all of a sudden while driving and we did not know why. We took it to the dealership and they told us everything looks fine. 46 Suspension problem of the 2020 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 12/16/2020

1-20-2020 purchased a new Jeep Cherokee latitude, we purchased the car with 4 wheel drive and all terrain tires for our needs, gravel, mud, snow, flooding etc. In or about 12-1-2020 we received an recall w43, we thought it had to do with the bumper being melted by the exhaust. The recall stated tire rub and exhaust tips. Well needless to say they performed the recall, which I was suspect of because I think they are trying to hide a defect in manufacturing of the vehicle. Well anyway they repaired the vehilce to there liking, they replaced the exhaust, and replaced all four tires with 18" rims and street tires. And they did not replace the spare tire. I believe this was done to alleviate any defect that the all terrain tires would show and cause more problems. Aka warranty. Now I dont have the off road capabilities and 4 wheel drive safety that I had when we purchased the car. With these street tires which are not rated for sand gravel snow etc, dont work on 4 wheel drive vehicles, and cause me to lose mileage, now I have a car that was purchased, the 4 tires were changed, only 4 rims were changed and I have no off road capabilities. I paid for the tires that were on the vehicle, I paid for the car to have off road and 4 wheel drive caqpabiltys and now I have noon. Not even the right spare.

47 Suspension problem of the 2020 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/18/2020

In the am, the monitor went out and came on at a later time that day; when driving at 70 miles per hour the front end was vibrating; and when returning home, within three seconds I lost steering, it engaged, went out and engaged again. I parked the Jeep, had it towed to the dealership two days later. Went thru arbitration and lost.

48 Suspension problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 11/13/2020

I own a 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport with 104k miles. Both rear knuckles need replaced and the bushings in the passenger side is severely worn more than the other. There are no local dealers who can get them as they are back ordered through Chrysler. One dealer is showing 30+ ordered through their dealership alone. I have even contacted Chrysler corporate directly with no luck or additional information. My local technician said this is a major issue especially with winter coming to my area and that is may cause the vehicle to not be able to control as intended. The part is unavailable even though it is a major safety issue! the part # provided from the dealers is 5090072ae. While researching various sites for another source, I am only able to find 5090072ad, which looks like the right part but does not match part numbers. How do I get a part that my vehicle requires to function safely and keep my family safe (new born child) when the manufacturer won't provide me the part or give me an update on when one would be available.

49 Suspension problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/26/2020

On a Sunday the 25th October my vehicle was parked at home getting ready to go to the shops didn't want to go forward but it was automatically reversing. It changed to low gear and didn't wanna increase speed above 40km/hr, it deactivated all sensors. It lost power and started jacking but was only reversing. I called Jeep sa sandton on Monday as it did the same thing they said it must be town must towed. On arrival I was told m vehicle has ptu problem, it is not transmitting power to the front wheels. And I need to pay for replacement of ptu. I asked what causes this ptu, the service girls said she doesn't know. I googled and discovered that my vehicle was recalled for this ptu software update because these cars experience this problem. But no one informed me despite that my car went for a service with Jeep in may. The dealer and fca johannesburg is refusing to fix the damage and to update the software, the car has been with them for 2 weeks, and I am told I need to pay, while the information is clear that the recall was worldwide, and irrespective if your car is still under warrant or not the ptu needs to be updated and replaced by dealer free of charge.

50 Suspension problem of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 10/21/2020

Our mileage/odometer is flashing and states TSB. The tcm has been reprogrammed 3-4 times and still malfunctioning. Electrical issues through out cause stereo to not turn on sometimes and the all the sudden turn on its own. We have made complaints to the Jeep and they said the recall have already been done they wont help us and then close our case with out any solutions. We have already spent 2000 or more fixing issues that don't help the problem. We completely replaced the shifter and the whole assembly that goes with it. We have had a quick learn done to the transmission. We still had codes popping for the tcm prior to the shifter going out. We have had codes come up for the drive train and where told that recall was already done and we still have issues. We are at a loss here and dont know what else to do. We have only got this car a little over a year ago and have reported problems since day one.

58 Suspension problem of the 2017 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/10/2020

I bought my car in 2020, in that same year I took the car to the dealer because "service shifter" light kept coming up. It would come up in moments where I would brake or gas and the car skipped before completing the task. I ended spending $600 for the 'repairments" for it to not get fixed. I took it back again to get it checked out and the dealer said it was fine. Its 2025 now and im still having issues with it and it only got worse. Its more of a rougher skip while braking and gasing, it also does it unexpectedly and I get worry that it might caused a crashed at some point. It has also affected the inital acceleration of the car because I have to push the gas all the way for it to gain momentum.

59 Suspension problem of the 2017 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/03/2020

Defective drivers side front strut began knocking on unpaved roads at 14,000 miles on 1 year old Jeep Cherokee. Dealer verified defective strut and replaced under warranty. Now at 31,000 miles passenger side front strut has severe knocking even on small bumps in road and vehicle front end shudders upon braking. Apparently, this other side strut is also defective. Working with Jeep to verify defective strut and have replaced. Upon research, have seen owner comments about manufacturing defect in front struts of several Jeep vehicles.

60 Suspension problem of the 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

Purchased 75,000 mile warranty with tob. Around 30,000 motor replaced. Oil consumption. Nc. Had it at midas at 67,584 miles because of unusual noises in the front end. Was determined to be the drivetrain. Advised me to check with tom o'brien Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep ram in greenwood indiana that it might be under warranty. Had it there twice, midas greenwood twice and fletcher Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep ram in franklin indiana twice. Each made repairs to it costing me $595 total in out-of-pocket deductibles. Billing to warranty company: midas $1933. 57, fletcher $618 and tob $2267 which is "the mechanic" (mechanical repair service contract) tel # 800-621-2130. Contract # gw227456. The vehicle had these issues of unusual noises on rough pavement, wandering when taking off from stop going thru shifting gears moving from right to left then back to straight then going back to the right every time on shifting. At 75,000 miles the warranty ran out and up to that time "none" of the companies figured it out nor fixed it. We were told that the lemon law didn't apply. So now at 80194 miles it's so bad that it's untrustworthy and it's getting worse by the day. I can't find anybody to fix it especially now that the warranty is out and the only place that we can trade it is back at tob which we will never buy another product from them. I have all the receipts for all repairs made that did not fix it. So we are stuck. Can't fix it nor trade and get a good price for it.

Leaking front strut. I've been to 2 dealers and cannot get the struts. I'm told that they're on back order for 6 months. If they can't keep the struts in stock anywhere, there must be something wrong with the struts. Our Jeep only has 56,000 miles.

68 Suspension problem of the 2015 Jeep Cherokee

69 Suspension problem of the 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 07/17/2018

My Jeep has been and looked at for shaking in the front end when getting to a certain speed. I have found out after going to get a wheel alignment and being told it may be my tires and having them changed and then told it may be the balance of the tires and having that checked the issue is still present. After looking into this issue more and talking to other Jeep owners about this they said it is what is called the Jeep shakes. And according to looking this issue up this is present on many Jeep years and for me as a car owner there is no recall to fix this issue. The cost of fixing this issue can range from $900 to 1500 dollars depending on where it is taken. The Jeep when driving and reaching 55 plus mph and it starts to shake and if able to get to 65 mph the shaking ceases.

70 Suspension problem of the 2018 Jeep Cherokee

Failure Date: 06/28/2018

While driving highway speeds there is a vibration between 60 and 80 miles per hour. I have had the tires replaced, rims replaced and no change in vibration. It has started since I owned the vehicle with 7 miles on the odometer till today with 9000 miles on it. The dealer claims that this is normal throughout the line of Cherokees and is just "road vibration" but talking with other owners this is not the case and they do not experience the same thing. It does tend to fade away during long left turns on the freeway but appears as soon as the vehicle straightens. Numerous attempts to get the dealership to fix this has resulted in no headway as the dealer claims that this is normal.
