Transmission Gear Indicator problems of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Two problems related to transmission gear indicator have been reported for the 2006 Jeep Commander. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Gear Indicator problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2016

After driving for short amount of time ( 15-20 minutes) the transmission seems to lag into shifting. There is also a problem when trying to manually shift gears. Tried shifting into low gear at stop light, and the indicator on the dash stays in ' d' and will not engage in other lower gears. It also appears to lag when traveling at a stead speed, about 30-45 miles per hour.

2 Transmission Gear Indicator problem

Failure Date: 07/04/2011

Suddenly out of nowhere my 2006 Jeep Commander v6 just start jerking and driving very poorly. It only stays in third gear and the mil light indicator is on. It also jerks and seems like theres issues with the transmission. I've read online hundreds of users posting the same issue but there is no recall on the vehicle yet. This is very irritating and this could've easily caused an accident. I do not ever plan on purchasing an american made vehicle ever again. The Jeep dealer will not address this issue. This is unacceptable. I still have the issue.
