They refuse to fix anything except the seat belts and won't tow it back to me.

Seat Belt problem #2

2007 Jeep Commander. Consumer writes in regards to broken and rusted seat belts in vehicle. The consumer stated the dealer agreed to replace the seat belts in the vehicle, but has not made contact to schedule an appointment. The consumer stated the roof leaked causing the vehicle to flood and damaging the windows and speakers.

Seat Belt problem #3

The 3rd row seatbelts click as if they're latching and do not lock. This allows them to pop out when unexpected and would be dangerous in an accident. This 3row pretty much fits children who may not recognize the problem. I paid to replace mine and within 4 months the new ones I bought from dealer broke. It appears the faulty design of the folding seat is one thing that breaks the seatbelts latches. Several people have this problem and just sell the vehicle to some unsuspecting person. Below I put roughly the date I found it, but had bought the vehicle and it was already broken. I just didn't know it or know to check it.

Seat Belt problem #4

Air bag indicator light on . Ignition switch problem prior relates power mechanical devices, windows, sunroof, seats which present a safety hazard. . Loss of functionality of these systems increases safety and injury risk. Chrysler worked on the ignition switch and after had issues with windows and airbag.

Seat Belt problem #5

Air bag came on and doesn't go off, engine light is on constantly even after vehicle is repaired. Vehicle shuts off while you are driving. Seat belts are broken woke stay after being repaired. Windows get stck.

Seat Belt problem #6

Vehicle shutting off when stalling or at a stop driving down a city street with vehicles behind me. Idleing high when turning on or driving. Just had some thing fixed and issue still not resolved seems to be ecm/pcm possibly. Some sort of water entrance unsure where from had windshield reinstalled and I still get puddles on my driver and passenger feet. Back set belts keep braking was told this is a defect when seats are layed down seat buckles break and need to be replaced which is a safety issue with my children since I have 4 and need these to be functional they have been replaced 3 times and am now told it's a defect.

Seat Belt problem #7

Two seat belt buckles in the back seat are broken. There should be two red plastic guides that guide the latch plate into the buckle and one guide is missing on both outer seating positions in the back seat. I can send pictures if needed. My daughter has the same vehicle and it has the same problem. I will be reporting hers under her VIN number.

Seat Belt problem #8

Seatbelts sometimes do not stay buckled in the buckle without force. Seatbelts get stuck on the ones that do buckle when parked or on. Two middle row seatbelts fell completely off. One third row seatbelt does not buckle at all. One 3rd row seatbelt gets stuck on a daily basis in the buckle with the vehicle parked or not parked and the belt always gets stuck in the booster seats we have to completely remove the booster seats everytime we need to rebuckle the seats. The actual buckles fall apart easily.

Seat Belt problem #9

The 3rd row seating buckles in our Jeep Commander began to stick about 6mos after purchase. We noticed the buckle would stick under the 3rd row seating and then the buckle would no longer unlatch at times. The belt would latch into the buckle, but would get stuck inside even while pushing the release button. A couple of weeks after the buckle sticking the buckle would also unlatch at anytime without pressing the release button (while moving and while stationary). During this time the buckle was unstable and we chose to use the passenger side for the majority of car rides, but as we have a large family use of the belt was necessary. At one point the buckle became stuck while my son was restrained by the belt. We had to pry the belt out of the buckle. From this point on the buckle would no longer latch. A few months later we noticed the passenger side buckle would release at any time, (mobile or stationary). The buckle would also stick and would not release at times. It appears the passenger side buckle is now unsafe and having the same issues the driver side buckle caused. The 3rd row seating is attached to the buckles in a way it seems to cause these issues with the buckle. I have found multiple complaints on google forums and complaint sites. The buckles are failing due to faulty manufacturing. The 3rd row seating causes damage to the buckles. Over time these buckles need replaced multiple times. The buckle releases without being released and will cause serious injury or death. The buckle release will stick and could cause serious injury or death in an emergency when passenger would need removed. This issue should be a recall and replaced in all 2007 Jeep Commander 3rd row seats. This issue will cause serious injury or death.

Seat Belt problem #10

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander. When latching a booster seat on the third row driver side seat, the latching system failed. The seat belt unlatched while driving. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 116,000.

Seat Belt problem #11

The left third row seat belt got crushed by the faulty seat mechanism causing it to not release when the button was pushed. The passenger in that seat had to crawl out from under the belt in order to escape the vehicle. The problem now includes both 3rd row belts and they are unusable.

Seat Belt problem #12

On 2/11/14 took vehicle into the Chrysler dealership because of the starter motor not working properly and it had turned off while I was driving on several occasions. They had to replace the starter motor and I had to pay for it. After this the air bag light went on and I would think this is a safety issue and I should not had to pay for any of this. But I did. They told me they had to replace a short in the harness part #5143387aa. Also, the said the driver seat belt was causing air bag light to go on. This was a defect. I believe that if these are recalls and safety issues from Chrysler and I had to pay for them I would think that Chrysler should reimburse me for taking care of these problems before something bad really happened. I am always maintaining my vehicle and I am very glad that I have taken care of these problems. I would appreciate a email back and hopefully a refund for paying for something that should have been a recall. I have all of my records and receipts if you need copies. Thank you.

Seat Belt problem #13

Third row seat belts are inoperable. They broke when we folded down third row seats.

Seat Belt problem #14

The 3rd row seat belt do not retract when the seats are being folded down which causes the seat belts to become jammed and tearing the seats, also when fixed, the seat belt will become locked in place causing a person to become stuck in the seatbelt, a very serious problem in case of an accident, this person would not be able to get out of his/her seat. This is a defect from Jeep and should be fixed at Jeeps expense. Jeep customer service told me that they had no previous complaints, but I found out that there are several complaints about the seat belts.

Seat Belt problem #15

3rd row seat belts break and are unusable whenever the 3rd row seats are folded down. The plastic piece is pushed over the metal latching piece of the seat belt. They have been fixed and are now broken again, now the 3rd row seat cannot be used for passengers. Water from rain is coming through the doors, puddling at the base of the door. The Jeep was in park, when I attempted to put the car in reverse it would not go, all of the prd were lit up with blocks around them. I turned off the Jeep and I was able to put the car in reverse.

Seat Belt problem #16

3rd row seat belt on passenger side never worked. The seat belt wouldn't lock in. Now my 2nd row middle seat belt will not unlock to pull out and buckle.

Seat Belt problem #17

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander 4x4. The contact stated that the driver and passenger's side seat belts on the third row had failed. The failure recurred eight times over a period of two months. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the seat belt receiver needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.

Seat Belt problem #18

Car stalls when driving down the road. The drnp dash lights all light up at the same time and the car shuts down for a couple seconds, then it resumes. It has happened several times randomly in the past. Today, it stalled 3 times on the highway on my home from work. I had to pull over and restart the car. The check engine light finally came on today. The seatbelts also have broken several times. I've replaced 2 separate seatbelt cases (the outer cover) in the past year. The middle, second row seatbelt is locked up and currently unusable. When I bought the car, the first time I put up the 3rd row seat, the seatbelt was crushed by the seat and broken. And, the back seatbelt is currently broken again (which I have only used the 3rd row seats twice since owning the car), I plan to have them repair it again when I take the car in to get the check engine light checked :(.

Seat Belt problem #19

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that the seat belt located on the passenger side, third row locked while pulling it out and it would not come out completely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the seat belt mechanism was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle identification number was not available. The failure and current mileage was 45,000.

Seat Belt problem #20

Third row seat belt buckles plastic cover slide into the seat while the buckle internals are exposed, rendering the seatbelt in operable.

Seat Belt problem #21

We have a 2007 Jeep/commander sport thats really somewhat a proble since we bought it (used) and its been a problem since getting it. It has a serious problem with lurching forward while in park/drive and while you're pressing the brakes at a stop. It did it at the dealership as well they did nothing about it. We've replaced inner parts to the transmission that Chrysler refused to cover under the warranty. We've had some type of module replaced a couple of times because the truck started running rough( Chrysler covered that) each time it happened. Theres so much we caan complain about this truck and Chrysler doesnt wnat to cover non of the major things. There's definitely /always has been an engine problem.

Seat Belt problem #22

The seat belts in my 2007 Jeep Commander malfunction. The third row seat buckles have cracked making them very difficult to get the belt into the buckle. At times the belts will even unlatch on their own. One of the buckles had shattered and is now completely inoperable. This is also happening to the second row seats as well as the passenger seat. Having three children with car seats in the car, this is very unsafe. Especially since they can detach at any time. It also makes me very concerned about the security of the belts in the event of a crash. I have found hundreds of complaints online regarding the 2006-2007 model years having serious problems with the seat belts.

Seat Belt problem #23

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander. The contact stated the vehicle was parked when she began to adjust the third row seating. While adjusting the seating, one of the seat belt buckles shattered. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. Approximately one year later, the failure recurred on the second third row seat belt buckle. Again, the vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 75,000.

Seat Belt problem #24

We have been having problem with this vehicle for several month with no results from chrsyler corporation or the dealership. When it rains water is coming inside of the vehicle. The seat belt is always wet, water is coming in through the panel, water is on the floor and in the cup holders. We have taken the vehicle in on several occasions and it has been label as a lemon. However, we have not had any result from Chrysler. The radio would not turn off, the windows would not come down, and the door would not unlock. This was the last straw. Water is constantly leaking inside of the vehicle from the roof. The vehicle has a mildew smell inside. However, this dilemma about to come to a close. But has taken a turn for the worse. I gregory hailey was informed that on Monday, November 24, 2008 that I would not be able to take procession of a vehicle, because of some technicality because the dealership, Chrysler financial and the third party individual that is handling this matter. I am deeply upset with Chrysler as a whole in the way they have handle this problem. This is a 2 year problem because it dates back to 2006 on this particular vehicle. If there is a need please feel free to contact me for further discussion.

Seat Belt problem #25

2007 Jeep Commander seat belts have broken 5 times in the last 2 years. Purchased vehicle use; so it does not fall under lemon laws unfortunately.

Seat Belt problem #26

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander 4x4. On two separate occasions, the third row driver's side seat belt retractor became stuck around the contact's child. The more the child struggled to get out of the seat belt, the more it began to tighten. The child suffered burns to the chest. On both occasions, the child needed assistance to exit the seat belt, which took over 20 minutes. The current mileage was 9,000 and failure mileage was 8,987.

Seat Belt problem #27

Front seat belt retraction is insufficient causing seat belts to be caught between door lock mechanism when closing door when exiting vehicle damaging seat belt webbing. Door will not properly close or lock and vehicle may be at risk for theft.

Seat Belt problem #28

I drive a Jeep Commander and the third row seat belt has been broken since I bought the vehicle it has been replaced once and it still does not work the seat belt will not pull out to buckle up my child, the dealer says the seat is not lining up with the vehicle. . .
