I pulled in my driveway, put my car in park and as I was turning off the key my car made horrible noise, and when I tried to restart the vehicle I had no power. I waited a few minutes and tried the key again, and the dash flicked off and on, off and on and it said transmission over temperature, check gauges, etc. This morning I tried again, and it said some code and then went completely dark today. About a month ago I was driving approximately 60 mph and my car just lurched shut off and restarted itself on a freeway. I talked to the tech - they did not know what it could be. Reading there are several complaints about this. Still not sure what is wrong with my car this time, I get it serviced regularly and obviously need to have it towed to a dealer to get checked out.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander. While driving approximately 30 mph, the engine slipped into a lower gear and made a loud noise. The contact attempted to pull to the side of the road, but the power steering locked and the engine stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted immediately. A few days later, while attempting to stop at stop light, the failure recurred except this time the control panel failed as well. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to diagnose the vehicle. There are no recalls listed at this time; however, the contact is experiencing the same failures listed in defect investigation number ea07007. The vehicle has not been repaired and remains at the dealer. The failure and current mileages were 11,000.
