Vehicle has rolled back 3 times on its own after being started while trans was still in park. Dealer claims there is no problem to be found. Child safety latch on door has failed. Power window repeatedly goes up and down. Instrument panel lights up completely while driving. Four wheel drive system comes on when not needed and stays on. Squeak in right rear suspension. Other work has been done on vehicle that I can document. Vehicle has approx. 8,450 miles.

2 Visibility problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 09/09/2007

My 2006 Jeep Commander continually stalls, threatening the lives of whoever is in the car. There is no warning. Suddenly there will be a complete loss of control over the vehicle. No warning lights, no bells, sounds, whistles. . . Nothing! the only way to remedy is to turn vehicle off and restart. This turns in to a life threatening incident when the traffic behind you is unaware that you are in fact stalled. The dealership has no updates or complaints of this problem (ya, right) and drives it around the block. . . With no incidences occurring. If they think it's going to happen while they're driving the vehicle, they're wrong. I 'm risking my families lives every time we get in the car. It's the most expensive piece of junk I've ever owned! visibility out the rear window when the 3rd row seats are up is just about zero. This is extremely dangerous. You can't see cars, kids, or your neighbors house when you're trying to see what's behind you. Driver's side locks on it's own. Luckily the passenger doors remain unlocked, so I haven't locked myself out. . . Yet.

3 Visibility problem of the 2007 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 04/14/2007

A new vehicle, the Jeep Commander, on a wet highway, is a major problem for anyone behind. Reason, horrible design results in more spray and mist kicked up than an eighteen wheeler. This horribly designed, unaerodynamic pile of junk is a major menace that turns a wet highway into a moving cloud and they will be the cause of a major pile-ups. All should be bought back and scrapped. Test one on a very wet asphalt highway and my complaint will be obvious to all. Ban this vehicle before it kills someone.

4 Visibility problem of the 2006 Jeep Commander

Failure Date: 01/01/2006

My 2006 Commander with 40,000 miles has had the following problems since it came off the lot. The vehicle stalls and I obviously lose power and steering but there are no error messages in the computer, the 4wd does not engage - the warning light for that comes on but there's no error message in the computer. The window's roll up and down incorrectly - the gasket on the exhaust manifold has been replaced and the kicker of all problems is when the vehicle goes through a minor puddle of water or the automatic car wash the steering wheel locks completely until the water is gone - try driving that in the rain - Jeep was finally able to duplicate that problem by putting a garden hose under the car and squirting water on the underside of the vehicle - this problem apparently cannot be fixed and they can't believe that no other Jeep owner's aren't throwing fits. So much for the lemon law - the steering problem wasn't taken seriously by the previous Jeep dealers -I went to a different dealer altogether however, it's too late.
